bayoumom says "Making the life of a LPN easier" about Nursing Made Incredibly Easy Magazine

I ordered a subscription to Nursing Made Incredibly Easy while still in nursing school. I am currently a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Louisiana. I found this magazine to be helpful while in school. I was able to understand a great deal more about the subjects covered in class. Anyone who has been to nursing school knows the instructors do not try to make learning easy for a nursing student. The informative articles gave me a little bit of an edge and made an impression on my instructors. Since graduating and beginning my practice as a geriatric nurse dealing with dementia complicated by various and multiple disease processes, the magazine has been invaluable. A nurse never stops learning and this magazine is the one to have. As with all publications under the "Made Incredibly Easy" title, it is EASY to read, informative and knowledgeable without bogging down with boredom like so many textbooks. Each issue, also includes an article for CEU credits. While slightly pricey and......

bayoumom says "Christmas present for a 16 year old was a hit" about Apple - iPod Nano Third Generation Digital Media Player

The I-Pod Nano 4gb was purchased as a Christmas gift for my 16 year old son. Talk about a happy kid Christmas morning. I did research all of the mp3 players in the same price range and cheaper but kept coming up on reviews that indicated a lot of crashing. I eventually came back to Apple's I Pod because of the reputation of their name. I chose the 4gb Nano for the price. $149 at Wal-mart. I had no idea what these little things did. I was under the impression they were the new millineum's equivalent to the walkman of my day. The walkman doesn't even come close. The IPOD plays music, stores photos, plays tv shows, movies, audiobooks, podcasts, has an alarm, calendar, contacts, games. I was truly amazed with it. I am even thinking of purchasing one for myself to listen to audiobooks while in the car, waiting for appointments, ect. The only con I could find was the fact that is was difficult to operate initially. A small "get started" guide was included but only told how to connect to the......

bayoumom says "All I want for Christmas is a digital camera" about Canon - PowerShot SD1000 / Digital IXUS 70 Digital Camera

All I wanted for Christmas was a GOOD digital camera. After my husband agreed that this would be our joint present and would spend around $250, I began to research cameras and reviews. As a member of MYPOINTS, I searched through their numerous sites selling cameras and read reviews for 6 hours. What I found was that the Canon Digital Elph SD1000 IXUS 70 had consistently good reviews in the over 200 that I read. All other cameras had something that made me think....maybe I don't want that one. The cons for this camera first....No low battery indicator, red eye on some indoor shots (fixed with the included software) and no image stabilization. As for the pro's, I can't say enough. I was worried that the 7.1 megapixels would not produce good pictures since there are higher megapixels available. Not so with this little beauty. It is small, about the size of a deck of cards yet my husband and son who have large hands find it easy to use. It has a camcorder built in. Picture quality is very......

bayoumom says "I am in love with this washing machine, " about Fisher Paykel Washer - Top Load Intuitive Eco - IWL16

When my Maytag bit the dust at only 3 years old...I went searching for a new machine. I looked at top loaders, side loaders, & any other loader that was out there. I came across this machine but wrote it off early because it just didn't look impressive in the pictures. However, when my husband & I actually went to the store, the saleperson was a big fan. He gave us a full demonstration (including kicking it & dragging it across the floor) I was very impressed and did a little more research. Decided to purchase the machine. I have never regretted it. It has a spin cycle that wrings EVERY DROP of water out of your clothes. The up side...way less time in the dryer, the down side...wrinkles if you don't put them in dryer immediantly. It has a function that chooses the water lever best suited for your load and will balance itself 99% of the time. While a little noise is involved, it is not overly noisy. It is deceptive in that it appears to be a small machine. It isn't. It can handle very large...
...

bayoumom says "This brand is one that I always trust" about Singer Sewing Machine

I purchased the Singer Prelude model on the spur of the moment....my son needed a costume for school the next day and there was no way I was going to pay what the stores wanted for the shabby material they supplied. This was around Halloween but not a halloween costume. I decided instead to buy the machine and make the "Super Hero" costume. I found the machine priced well, did a good job and although a little hard to thread...worth what I spent. It also, made me #1 mom for the day.Not for the serious sewers....but for the occasional...perfect....
