bairdfamily5 says "Never run out of anything!" about Alice.com

So Alice.com. Why didn't I think of that?

She's like an online warehouse of stuff you use everyday. It's all brandname stuff, no store brands, but I did find things that I buy already and it's cheaper.

You never pay shipping!

She will ask you how often you need to be reminded that you may be running out of something like toliet paper.

The website is very user friendly. You can search for products, or shop by the room. You can pick your favorites even. I totally love this site.

I love the Oil of Olay products and she has them!

I ordered 12 rolls of toliet paper, Oil of Olay nightcream, Pull-Ups training pants, 6 boxes of kleenex (for cheaper then I've seen anywhere) and it was here in just a couple of days.

This site is worth trying.

Use my referral link and you get a 10 dollar credit!

bairdfamily5 says "Nice but really expensive..." about Georgia Aquarium - Atlanta, GA

The Georgia Aquarium is a nice place, but considering it was paid for by a mega rich guy, Bernie Marcus (owner of Home Depot), why do they have to charge so much to get in???

If you are going, make a day of it and get the combo passes for the aquarium and the Coke museum. They are right next to each other since the Coke Museum has been redone.

If you can afford a yearly pass, and will go many times then more power to ya!

There is alot to see and a place where your kids can play on a ship. I really enjoyed it. Go during the week when it is less crowded and go while school is in session if you can very close to the beginning of the year so you won't get stuck in a thousands of kids running amuck.

The most amazing part is the giant window where you look at the whale sharks. It is absolutely beautiful. I could sit there all day, even if I have I do have a small fear that the glass will break and I'll be trying to hold my breath until I reach the top and hopefully avoid being eaten.

I would...
...

bairdfamily5 says "Cool features...Cheap Handle on the lid" about Rival Smart-Pot SCVP6009-A1

I got this one because the screw that held the plastic handle to the glass lid broke. So, with this one I was super careful, handwashed it only and the handle still broke!

I do love that I can choose 4, 6, 8 or 10 hour cooking time and that it then switches to "warming." So you really can set it and forget it!...

My issues were with the racks. They are covered in a rubber. They aren't the stainless steel, but I had to buy a special paint for them. The rubber chipped and the metal rusted. It is so expensive to replace the racks that I'm making due with the paint touchups. The rollers also broke, but my three year old maybe at some fault for that. It was easy to the parts and the rollers were only about 12 dollars....

bairdfamily5 says "My Fitness Coach is a good workout and entertaining." about Wii - My Fitness Coach

I'm always looking for products that will encourage me to exercise. We tried the Wii Fit...I wrote a review on that a while back. Wii fit is fun, but very geared toward kids and fun...and in order to do 10 exercises you have to select each one and it takes forever. (Unless they have changed that).

Anyway, about "My Fitness Coach"

You start out entering your weight and all your measurements and do a fitness test. It takes maybe 10 minutes, but after that you sign on and she suggests a workout. You can choose any 15 minute increment up to an hour.

She warms you up, targets the area you select and cools you down.

Maya, the virtual coach is hilarious. Sometimes she is nice. Sometimes she complains about her allergies. She often fixes her ponytail. It's really pretty entertaining.

The graphics are okay...not super, but I'm wanting a serious workout and that is what you get. The more times you go and workout, the more exercises you get to try. At the end of the workout she will tell you how...
...

bairdfamily5 says "A coach cheering me on all the time!" about Nintendo DS - My Weight Loss Coach

My husband got a Nintendo DS Lite. I've never really been into handheld video game things, but I did enjoy the Wii. I said that I never wanted my kids to play video games, but when the Wii came out and it required moving...I said okay.

So the point. The game I am actully reviewing is "My weight loss coach" by Ubisoft.

This game is awesome.

The DS is easily carried in your purse. I can pull it out in a resturant or at the mall and log my food and as far as anyone knows, I'm playing a game. I don't feel self conscience like I'm pulling out a Weight Watcher's book or a book full of calorie content of every food known to man.

It's easy. You get it and it asks you questions about your lifestyle and your weight and your habits. You can update these as you change!

It also comes with a pedometer to wear.

This game gives you challenges based on the information you enter.

The food is easy to log. There is a stick figure that is your coach. As you eat something, you go to the food diary section and pick...
...

bairdfamily5 says "Fun...Just one irritating thing" about Nintendo Wii Fit

I love this!

It's alot of fun and the strength and yoga exercises are great! The irritating thing here: You have to pick and exercise....get your score...go back to the main menu....select the next exercise. Why in the would don't you have an option to "Do all available strength exercises" or "Highlight the ones you would like to do" I find myself not wanting to do many of them, because by the time I do one and go back into to do the next one my kids are naggin' me.

I love that it keeps track of your progess...but does it have to tell me I'm fat in front of every one? LOL

It does have a code so no one can get in but you on your charactor, but each time you do a "body test" be prepared. LOL

Overall it's great.

I do wish there was a long "step" program...man i could do that for hours.

I envision....an entire DVD of customizable workouts....a higher extentions for the Wii Pad....I'll be the first in line for that game!
...

bairdfamily5 says "Big Show on a small Budget" about Chattanooga Zoo

We live in North Georgia, so we were able to make this a day trip. This was a great zoo! When arriving in TN...stop at the Welcome Center and get a coupon good for one kid to get in free!

The zoo (May 2008) was under construction. Most the exibits were done, they were mainly working on the entranceway. It was looking amazing. I'd like to go back and see the completed work.

This was so reasonable. An adult can get in for a mere 6 dollars! This is not the biggest zoo on the planet, but we were there for at least 2-3 hours. There was not a massive crowd either!

The parking was five dollars. There was plenty of space to park.

They had gorillas, monkeys, a petting zoo, birds, and some red pandas.

If you are planning a trip to the area to see the wonderful aquarium and downtown Chattanooga area....don't miss the zoo!

The only downside....The area of town was a bit like going to downtown Atlanta....well not quite as bad as downtown Atlanta, but I wouldn't advise going at night. The daytime was fine....
...

bairdfamily5 says "I have the beautiful hair I always wanted!" about Conair Instant Heat Ceramic 2" Wet/Dry Straightener

I had always wanted to try a flat iron. I had bought one before and was not really pleased with the results. I have shoulder length hair. My hair is naturally blonde and fine. I used to let my hair dry naturally and it has a bit of a wave, but mainly looks a mess. I researched all the flat irons I could find and the prices. I found this one online for 33 dollars, but decided I would try Wal-Mart first. They had it for 25 dollars.

I must say that I love the curved plates. They make my hair gentley turn under. The irons that are completely flat just made my hair look un-naturally straight and harsh. I love the slightly curved under look this one gives. You could also flip you hair out if you wanted to do so.

I tried it on dry hair and it worked like a charm.

I tried it on wet hair, and even though it took longer...it worked like a charm.

I have decided I like to shower and let my hair mostly air dry while I get my make up on, and then I can do a quick straightening job on it.

I picked up my son...
...

bairdfamily5 says "Small, Powerful, HUGE gas savings!" about Toyota Yaris - 2008

My husband drives the Yaris mostly, but we love it. It drives well and he gets nearly 40 mpg if he drives near to the speed limit. If he is driving like a racecar driver, flooring it, cutting in and out of traffic...he gets about 35-38 mpg.

It is an awesome car. We got the basic model, two door. The interior is great...no complaints on that.

I love the fact that the backseat has a shoulder belt in all three spots! We have three small kids so this is awesome.

We had a Ford Taurus and now we are spending 50% less per month on gas. This amounts to nearly $150 a month in savings!

My husband works 45 miles from home...and you can't beat this car!

I honestly believe that our country is slowly switching to smaller cars, cars with less mpg....be it a hybrid, electric or just a small car.

...

bairdfamily5 says "How can they lie to me like that and get away with it????" about Dish network

Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you I really do my research to get the best deal. When cable prices kept getting higher and higher, I looked at many satellite companies. I decided on Dish Network, they gave me a few special deals at the time: ten dollars off per month for 10 months and free in home service plan for a period of time. They advised me which channels were included in my package. The NFL network was INCLUDED in my package. Ten months later I get a notice that my bill is going up by three dollars. My receiver quit working and I had to pay 29.99 for someone to come out and give me a new on. I had not even had it for a year! Then BAM, my hubby comes home from work, switches to his favorite channel: NFL Network, and it is not there. That was the main reason we chose dish! I just called the company and it says, "If you are calling about the NFL network, please press one." I pressed one then, "We hope you enjoyed your free preview of the NFL Network, if you would like...
...

I had tried Allstate, but found Progressive was cheaper. Every six months when my insurance comes due, I call around to every company in the phone book. I am extremely cheap and want to get the best deal. I called my local insurance agency, Pruitt and Associates in Canton Ga, and they suggested Travelers. It was the best price I had ever heard. I switched my home insurance there also. My agent, Melinda, is always there for me and is very prompt in answering questions and making policy changes. I have not had any trouble out of Travelers at all. Progressive may quote you the prices of other agencies, but do you really think they are telling you the truth? Call and get a quote from Travelers and see if it as cheap for you as it was for me!...

I'm a stay at home and I'm always looking for surveys to take to make extra money, but my kids are small, I don't have a bunch of time, and there is no way I'm paying some company to let me have a list of surveys I might take and might make money with. I wanted a sure thing, something I do NOT have to give my creditcard number to, something I could do real quick a few minutes a day and get paid and that is it.

This site is the best I have found. You sign up for free, you click on the offers you want to do. Many are offers that you put in your email address and you zip code and then have to click YES to four offers. Then when the offers come up...you can "skip" them or say "no" to them. It takes less then a minute per offer and you still get paid.

The first month I made $57 dollars.

They send you an email daily that with 3 offers on it. If you do the ones that done require credit cards and stuff you can make $1.5-$5 a day. That is about $60 a mth if you make just $2 a day.

I love, love,...
...

Well, I saw this on TV and they said it was awesome and you could use it anywhere and that the little yuckies that come off your feet stay in it...

Well, it does work wonders on your feet. Better then anything I have ever tried. The results were instant and it was more gentle then anything I have ever tried.

BUT

The only way that stuff is not going to fall out onto your floor is if you hold the rough/working part up at all times. The second you tilt it...out comes the yuckies.

So even though I do not believe that you can use it anywhere without getting the yuckies on your floor, it does the job amazingly.
...

Overall, I really love this product. If I were rich, I would love it more. We just got the system and it comes with one controller and one numchuck and one game. The downside is, you will really need a second controller (40) and then a second numchuck(20), more games at 50 bucks a pop (unless you buy second hand). Then because you will have to replace batteries ( I don't know how often) we bought the 2 controller charger for another 20 bucks. I was hoping the price would come down after a year, but it is just too darn popular and there is no competition. Had it not been bought and and paid for by 3 seperate grandparents, my kids wouldn't have one....I'm just to darn cheap....

I'm a mom and I really do not like violent kill'em shoot'em games....so I'm happy that this one is okay for kids. My five year old has difficulty with it, but I'm pretty good. I'm frustrated right now because I can kill the big spider that pukes green stuff on me. It is addicing...I think it is overall a great game, and it looks like you will be able to play it a long time, but man I hate the Wii games cost so darn much!...

bairdfamily5 says "Crazy Silly Fun" about Cranium Hullabaloo

My boys are 2, 4, and 5. The older two are easily able to play and follow the ques...the baby (who just turned two and is on the autism spectrum) dances and and jumps from shape to shape and has a great time. I love it because all you have to do is pull it out of the box, toss in some batteries, throw the shapes all over the floor and hit the big red button and the game tells you what to do. It's great exercise for mom too. LOL...

bairdfamily5 says "Perfect for Diaper Rash" about Vaseline - alternative uses for home solutions

I would have never thought of using his for diaper rash, but with each of my boys...no matter what kind of diaper rash cream I bought...they would scream...like they were in pain. So I happen to be talking to my sister, who has 2 young girls, and her doctor told her to use Vasoline on her daughter's diaper rash. I used it on my son and it worked like a charm.

It is especially good at night...it makes a layer of protection on baby's skin.

The fact is, when our babies are teething or have been sick and have upset tummies...it is really easy for them to get a diaper rash. Now, anytime my youngest is sick or teething...I go ahead and put some vasoline on him and it keeps his little rear from that painful rash!

...
