babblebug says "Best thing since sliced bread" about Freecycle

Freecycle is a Yahoo Group that is available around the world. In every community there seems to be a Freecycle group. Some are more active than others; some have thousands of members, some just a few. It is a way to give away things or to get things--completely for free. I don't know who invented this--but, boy, they were smart. I tell everyone about it.

I have given away things like a couch, a refregerator, a chair, a crock pot, a rice cooker, a dog house. I have gotten things like wedding champagne flutes, a twin bed, a rocking chair, I furnished much of a house, which we had not moved into yet, to accomodate a large group of relatives visiting.

It is helpful to have good transportation that can haul things and friends or family with muscle, if you are looking for the larger items. Sometimes people give away a bag or box of miscellaneous stuff and they say to take the whole thing, even if you don't want it all; just re-freecycle what you don't want.

I have shown...
...

babblebug says "pulls itself along and sucks things up well" about Hoover U5140-900 Bagged Upright Vacuum

We just bought his Hoover Tempo Widepath. I got to test it at the store and it sucked up the dirt. I needed a lower end vacuum for our cabin, and it needed to be reasonably lightweight. I was impressed at how the vacuum pulls itself along and takes up everything in it's path. Not sure yet how it does on wood floors and vinyl. I still have yet to try it on stairs also. It has tools, haven't tried that yet either.

I like it so far!

babblebug says "a comfortable night's sleep" about Denver Mattress Company Durango Firm

This Durango Firm mattress from Denver Mattress has been comfortable. We bought it in early March. We have no complaints. Our backs don't hurt like they did on our old mattress (which was 15 years old).

The "new"/plasticky smell took about a week to go away; I would pull up the mattress pad and sheets every morning to air it out, hoping that would help. It is taller than our old bed because the mattress is very thick. You've got to watch the blankets and covers you buy--they are easily too short and won't tuck under the mattress. Sheets are usually made big enough these days.

babblebug says "cleans great, quiet" about Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive

We have owned this Kenmore Progressive Direct Drive vacuum for 3 years and I am sure the carpets are cleaner than ever. It is quiet, as vacuums go. It has great filtration--I increase it by using good filtering bags.

Cons: It is heavy--luckily I don't have stairs. Edge cleaning leaves a lot to be desired.
...

babblebug says "Quality Care at great prices" about Stan Orme - Village Pet Clinic - Longmont, CO

I have taken my dogs to Dr. Orme since 1990. He is smart, caring, practical, and fair in pricing. I have never had a problem with the care he's given my dogs. I highly recommend him to anyone.

The office is small, friendly and not too busy. He can do blood tests, xrays, and surgery and dental.

I've even called him for help with hamsters and in trying to identify a dog I found.
...

babblebug says "Gateway to great internet help with genealogy" about Family Tree Magazine

Family Tree Magazine is great! Lots of information in each issue, and it really helps me find things on the internet and shows new ways to search for ancestors or historical information about an area, techniques to use in "breaking down the brick walls" in research.

The visuals used in the articles are fun and clever. I am hooked on this magazine!
...

babblebug says "A Great Idea!" about Shelfari

My friend sent me the invite for this site, so I went right to it and began adding books. I invited a few friends and they joined and we have found out things about each other we might not have known.

Adding books and finding books could be an easier more integrated process. But the idea of the site is great and it's fun to remember all the books I've read; and to make a list of books I would like to read. That's a great feature of the site.
...

This Le Peep is the best. I have been to 4 or 5 other Le Peeps around Colorado, and the one in Longmont has been the best. I have complimented them many times. The food is tasty and consistently good. The service is very good, the atmosphere is happy and comfortable. I love to go here!...

babblebug says "works great and it's fun" about Sony Ericsson - Walkman W810i Cell Phone

I chose this phone because it seemed better than the Nokia that was similarly affordable. Other phones would have been ridiculously priced for what I needed it for, and I am frugal. It has turned out to be even better than I realized.

I make and receive a few calls a day, and need it for urgent situations. Calls are clear; volume levels are good. Ringtone choices are great. It has features like alarm clock, calendar (which can sync with Outlook), and reminders that I really like. I do not use any internet or other connection programs, so I can't comment on that. I do use bluetooth and it works great. It's easy to tranfer files to it.

I like the Walkman feature more than I knew I would! And the earbuds that come with it are comfortable and sound great. I don't have tons of songs, so this is perfect. The music sounds great through the built-in speakers too.

I have recommended it to others and I think you should get it!
...
