awanda2139 says "Love the service, hate the customer service...well, lack thereof" about Comcast High Speed ISP

Wow, where do I start when it comes to Comcast. I love the service, the cable comes in clear and the Internet access is fast!

So, I sign up for a comcast deal online via their website. It says I'm signing up for Digital Cable and Internet for $33 a month each for 6 months. I have the print out of everything I signed up for in case there was any confusion...good thing I did.

I bought my own cable modem (had a rebate to get one free). The installer comes out and hooks up my modem and cable, notes that I am using my own cable modem so I don't get charged the monthly rental fee. Since I had to make the first month's payment up front, it automatically has the rental fee on it, but the tech said I should get a credit for that $3 in my next statement. I get all sorts of movie channels and everything I should be getting with the Digital package I signed up for.

Sadly, when I get my first bill, there is the $3.00 monthly modem rental fee on it. So, I called and told them that I had my own modem since......

awanda2139 says "Why not earn something for doing what you do anyway!!?" about MyPoints

I've been a member for years and love MyPoints! I've seen them grow over the years - they have really added a lot of vendors/companies. While it is not something that you are going to earn a ton of points on if you don't buy online; if you are an online shopper, it's great to get points for something you would do anyway. I've had a couple years where I've hardly bought anything online, but I still earn enough points reading the emails and going to the websites to get a couple gift certificates every year. I think MyPoints is best for those of us who already do a lot of shopping online. I was looking for a cell phone last year and found the MyPoints cell phone area. Got a regular contract with Cingular, a brand new Razr phone for free (with free shipping), and earned 1,000 points. Why not earn points for things I would have bought online anyway? That's how I look at it. And even if I do only get a $25 gift card one year because I didn't shop much, that's still just $25 for doing nothing......

awanda2139 says "I can't wait to finish and get out of there!!" about National University

I signed up with National University because I liked the fact that classes were only 4 weeks, which meant I could finish my degree quicker. I was originally attending University of Phoenix, but when I moved to California, UoP was way out of my price range (everything is more expensive in California). Transferring to National University was the worst mistake and I regret it.

First off, they got me all signed up and I started classes before they had fully analyzed my transcripts. The counselor told me that most of my UoP classes would transfer over just fine and I wouldn't have to re-take those same classes. So, off I go. The classes themselves aren't that bad, it is hard to learn a lot in four weeks, but the instructors usually do a good job of covering the material and make it relative. After two classes, I finally got my transcript reviewed 'officially' and sure enough, most of my UoP classes did transfer, but they transferred as electives!!! I had to basically start the entire program......

awanda2139 says "The best little hard drive I've seen yet!" about Western Digital WDXMS1200 Passport Portable Hard Drive

This is a great little drive! I've used the USB Keys for many things and love those, but they are still limited in the drive size (unless you want to spend BIG bucks). Instead, this little diddy has the capacity to hold all my image files! And since it doesn't require a specific driver (Windows XP automatically installs it), it is true plug-n-play technology. It is quiet, too. I have a 250GB external hard drive that whines like you wouldn't believe. I don't notice it if the TV is on or something, but if it is quiet in the area, that whining is a pain. This little drive is so quiet, you don't hear it. Also, I've had it plugged in for hours and it doesn't seem to get as hot as a regular external drive....

awanda2139 says "Cool little SUV, does everything I need it to do!" about Land Rover Freelander - 2002

I've had this car since it had 14 miles on it! I love it! It has been great in the ice and snow. It is very comfortable (I have taken several 1,000 + mile road trips in it), very sturdy (doesn't sound like a tin can when you close the door), sharp looking (not girly, not froufrou like some luxury SUVs), and I have had very few problems with it. I like the way the back door open sideways instead of up (I'm only 5 ft 2 in), and I like the way the back seats fold and then can be put up against the front seats (leaving you with a large, flat cargo area).

I absolutely LOVE the fact that I don't have to get an oil change every 3,000 miles. Once a year, I take it to a Land Rover dealer for yearly maintenance. It costs several hundred dollars, but they do all the maintenance (just like if you went to Jiffy Lube) and check the fluids, belts, filters, change what needs to be change and unless it is something not-standard (like brakes), it is included in the cost of the maintenance (unlike Jiffy Lube......
