avajaymes says "wow! my pores have vanished!" about Kiehl's Over Night Biological Peel

i must say that i absolutely love this product! when i arrived at the kiehl's store in santa monica, i expected to be greeted with the usual aggressive sales pitch, instead i was handed a fistful of samples and shown several products in a non-threatening way by the manager. i explained my concern over large pores and general t-zone oiliness. she immediately led me to this product. i was very skeptical but decided due to kiehl's excellent reputation and no-hassle return policy, i would test it. what can i say, but WOW! i have noticed a clarity of my skin, and noticeably smaller pores. though it is described as a skin "peel" there is no irritation. this product is awesome. be sure to use just a small amount as a little goes a long way. i feel this is so unlike a scrub or mask as its not meant to be a quick fix. i honestly feel my skin has changed, and have not had to wear full foundation on my face for over a month now. — thank you...

avajaymes says "la mer is la muck" about La Mer Creme de 2 oz /60 ml

la mer is just terrible unless you have extremely dry skin. i recently read in a beauty magazine that the original formula contains mineral oil!!! no wonder my skin broke out after i used it. the formula is very thick, and they suggest you warm it between your hands before applying. im sorry, but before i crash, i want something that is low maintenance, and i dont want to feel like my skin is sticking to the pillowcase either. the original formula is just too thick and greasy feeling for my comfort. i believe the so called celebrity hype, is the real reason people use this. i just dont think it is worth the expensive price...

avajaymes says "this place is PHO-tastic!" about pho - Los Angeles, CA

do you know where the secret PHO spot is? i do! its located in a formerly seedy-strip mall just off sunset and parkman in silverlake. thanks to uber-pricey hair salon gamine that just moved in next door, waiting for a table at PHO is gonna take much longer than before...
the wait and the hype are worth it. the offer some of the best spring rolls, heaping bowls of pho and great prices to boot. dont expect top quality service, or chatty waiters, this is, after all, silverlake.
expect good food, fast service and a wait. the decor is reminicent of ikea, and dont be intimidated by the close proximity of the next table. you will literally be eating elbow to elbow here.
parking sucks, but again, its worth the hassle. to be a true silverlaker, you must eat at PHO at least once a month.

oh, its ca$h only. ...
