auntbarb72 says "Always a good bet buying Playtex" about Playtex Insulator Spill Proof Cups

I have been a child care provider for 14+ yrs now. I have always been a fan of the Playtex line of cups. However, I used to be able to buy replacement valves, and can no longer find them at my local WalMart or Target, leading me to believe they don't sell them separately any more. It's a shame having to fill our landfills with cups when the only thing wrong was that the valves were worn out, making the cups no longer spill proof. The cups can easily last 2-3 yrs or more, and the valves tend to last about 6 mos or so with regular use.

Also, because I provide child care in my home, I would like to see more variety in the colors / designs, I have found these in 4 colors, but I care for up to 5-8 children at a time, and I'd prefer to have 1 type of cup, in an assortment of colors / designs.
...

auntbarb72 says "Good idea, but not good quality" about Nuby No-Spill Drinking Cup

These cups are a great idea for babies transitioning from bottle to sippy cup, or for those who cannot suck on a traditional dripless sippy. BUT, they do not last long. Do not use them for teething babies / toddlers (most babies do chew on everything, don't they?).

I have not found replacement silicone pieces, so you have to replace the whole cup.
...

auntbarb72 says "Best Bottle Invention EVER" about Playtex Ventaire Baby Bottles

I have been a child care provider for 14+ years. I have had dc parents bring in many different kinds of bottles. The VentAire are simply the BEST I have used for all babies, especially the gassy or fussy babies. They are mid-priced! They are a little more difficult to clean, but worth it!

The only real downfall, in my opinion, is the stages of the nipples. Stage 1 is good, but stage 2 is too big, there needs to be something in between. Also, the bottles come in 6 and 9 oz, and both always come with stage 2 nipples, so if buying for a new baby, make sure to buy the bottles and some stage 1 nipples, setting the stage 2 that come with the bottles aside for a few months. You may never need them (unless you're going to feed baby thick cereal from a bottle), I find it better to take the stage 1 and make the hole a little bigger when the baby is ready for a faster flow.

I always recommend these to new parents, and have even bought a few sets for friends / family members having baby showers.
...

auntbarb72 says "Great Value!" about Luvs Diapers

I have used many different brands of diaper / wipes over the years. Luvs diapers are just as good as any of the other brand names, and at less cost, although the cost has gone up significantly over the last couple years. The wipes aren't great, but not too bad, although I do prefer Huggies (thicker) or Parent's Choice (WalMart brand)....

auntbarb72 says "This seat is a great value!" about Fisher-Price Adjustable High Chair

I have 2 of these high chairs. They are a great value. I like most of the features, but they are bulky and take up quite a bit of my dining space....

auntbarb72 says "Neat Idea... But Needs Work" about Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing

I bought one of these swings when they first came out, and know a few friends that have them as well.

This is a neat idea, a small swing that is easily portable. Easy to take outside, take camping, take with on a weekend trip to Grandma's house.

These go through batteries at a phenomenal rate. They are good for small babies, but once they reach 3-4 mos, the swing really drags, cannot move fast enough.

Overall, it's a great idea, but still a work in progress in my opinion.
...

auntbarb72 says "Great Car Seat" about Safety 1st Vantage Point Booster Seat

I bought 4 of these for my minivan. They are versatile (20-100 lbs) and have easily adjustable straps. The kids love them, they are comfortable. I feel confident that the kids are safe while we're in the van.

The only problem I have is the armrests. The kids love having them and they feel more grown up using them. BUT, when I use 2 of them on my middle bench seat, it is very difficult for me to buckle the seat belts between the seats and it is impossible for the older kids to do it themselves!
...

auntbarb72 says "Great Stuff!" about St. Ives Apricot Scrub

I have tried so many different skin cleansers and scrubs. I love the St Ives apricot scrub. I buy both the regular and the medicated and use the regular most of the time, and use the medicated when I break out. My face feels refreshed and smooth when I use it!

I did find that I cannot use it every day as it does tend to dry my face, especially in the wintertime when I fight dry skin already.
...

This is my first Canon printer. I have always had (and liked) the Epsom printer line. I bought this because it was bundled with my computer system.

It works good, just make sure to buy OEM ink if you're going to print pictures.
...
