archemedes says "At least it's connected sometimes" about Comcast - Cable Company

We have Comcast due soley to the fact our choices are Comcast or dial up. For the money we pay we get 13 tv channels, and internet. Granted when connected it is fast, the problem is it takes 3 tries to get a website, and 4 tries to get email, if you try and load the comcast site well don't bother it won't load. We've had technicians out, and they find nothing wrong even though they have to try a few times to get a signal, or even reboot the modem, they removed the traps, and it helped some, but not...

archemedes says "Best mother board I have used" about EVGA nForce 680i SLI 775 A1 Version

If you're looking for a top mother board this is the one. I have built a few computers, and used a few different brands, and none of them were as well laid out as the EVGA. My father in law has the same system with a different mother board, and his computer runs hotter, and slower than mine. Only complaint is there is only 1 IDE port, but everything is going SATA anyway. Evga has a great customer service site, with easy to use driver...

archemedes says "Great video card" about GeForce 8600 GTS PCI Express Graphic Card

Bought based on a friends recomendation of the brand, and not at all dissapointed. I can run all new games, and can run most at high settings (Crysis is the only one I can't so far) runs at 60 degrees Celsius in my system even when playing games, and I don't have any exotic cooling. The Nvidia software is great, very easy to use, and won't let you damage anything. Price was very good. If looking for a good video card, and spending $600 isn't for you this is the one to get I found it under $300, and it came with a free...

archemedes says "Beautiful Picture" about Philips - 19PFL5422D Television

Bought to replace another LCD that was struck by lightning. Fabulous picture, very easy to setup, found channels my HD tuner in my computer couldn't. Was priced less than some other brands that didn't have the picture quality. Only has one HDMI input, but it is only a 19" so it shouldn't be your main home theater set. My wife even likes the style of the...

archemedes says "Better than others say" about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition Full Version OEM for PC

I have seen people complain about Vista crashing, and have not had one crash I couldn't explain. Only item it wasn't compatible with was a 7 year old printer, and that is only because the manufacturer would not develop a driver. If you have a decent computer you won't have any problems. Bare minimum system probably should stick with XP until you are ready to upgrade to a new computer. I find Vista to be more stable than XP on my system (I had many driver issues on XP) I like the sidebar as it gives me a notepad and calender at my fingertips instead of having to open a new program. I don't use the windows security, all the popup warnings can be disabled fairly...

archemedes says "Feels cheap" about Graco SnugRide Car Seat

We bought this for our daughter after using a similar one for our son 5 years earlier. The straps are very close to the mechanism that holds it into the base, and get caught after adjustment. The handle feels like it's about to break when carrying it, and my daughter is not even close to the maximum weight. The Safety First brand car seats are identical, and are cheaper. Not a good...
