aquanetta says "Indispensible kitchen tool" about Amco Citrus Squeezer Juicer

For years and years I used a lemon reamer for all my citrus juicing needs. After I read the Cook's Illustrated review and experiencing hand cramps from juicing 20+ limes for ceviche, I started to waver.

I was at my local Williams-Sonoma when I came across the 2-in-1 Amco juicer on sale. And I haven't looked back since.

How to use:
1. Cut citrus in half.
2. Place the cut half citrus in the cup with the cut side down.
3. Squeeze.

So simple and fast, it's easy to clean up too.

Cook's Illustrated recently had a tip to cut additional slits along the cut side to get more juice out. I will try that soon to see if it gets more juice out.
...

aquanetta says "Helps with stomach ailments" about Dannon DanActive Immunity

I really hate yogurt, it's one of the few things I refuse to eat because it just smells and tastes awful. After years of listening to my doctor tell me to eat more yogurt (get calcium, keep my gut microbes in healthy balance), I decided to take a look at Whole Food's yogurt section to see what they have.

In addition to yogurt in the cup, I noticed there are many varieties of yogurt in a bottle, some are called Kefir, the other ones are just marketed as drinkable yogurt that's good for you. I got one of each for a taste test. I bought the DanActive in blueberry, and it won the taste test.

Here's my story of how it helped me:
I went to Mexico with some friends for a fun weekend, and we all came back with the runs. It wasn't severe enough to go to the doctor for antibiotics, but it was certainly a drag. It went on for a month before I decided to do something about it. I had just one DanActive before I started seeing a difference. Now any time I have an upset stomach, I drink a DanActive.

I drink......

aquanetta says "one-a-day beautiful objects" about Charles and Marie

Charles and Marie is a website that showcases beautiful objects, sometimes exotic, sometimes erotic, but always interesting and hard to find elsewhere. If you're interested in modern design, this is a good place to start.

Soupe-du-jour offers one product for sale for 24 hours, so once it's gone it's gone. Occasionally they will have something for sale for more than 24 hours. There's always a brief preview of the offerings for the next day.

Curated shopping offers some of the popular past offerings for sale like a regular shopping website. In this section are personal care items, curios, office supplies, luggage, jewelry, etc. all with an unexpected twist.

If you or someone you know is into modern design, this is a great place to find that thing you read about but seems too beautiful to exist, now you can own it.

...

aquanetta says "bargains with amusing write-ups" about Woot.com

The idea of Woot is that it offers only one product a day, it's usually an electronic gadget, at a great price. You don't know how much is left, and once it's gone, it's gone.

I've only used Woot once (to buy a set of earbuds), but I find myself going to Woot everyday to check out the deals and the descriptions. The deals are usually great bargains but will not appeal to everyone. But the descriptions are so irreverent and hilarious, you find yourself wanting to buy the product even if you don't need it.

Every once in a while, they'll have a day for "Woot Offs", that's when they clear their inventory and they'll go through several products in a day, sometimes it's a mystery what you're actually buying, maybe a bandolier of carrots.

I recommend Woot.com as a daily read, if you find normal product descriptions boring, you'll want to read Woot.com everyday for laughs and sometimes catch a great bargain.

Wine.woot and Shirt.woot are also available....

aquanetta says "Prints beautiful calendars" about Shutterfly.com

Before Flickr, I used Shutterfly occasionally to share photos with friends. I found the online sharing interface very slow and doesn't encourage feedback from viewers, and migrated to Flickr for photosharing and networking.

But when I wanted to make a calendar as a gift, I found Flickr's affiliate printing services (Zazzle, Qoop, HP), lacking because they only had a single layout for calendars, which is one photo per page. Also, none of them offered full-bleed to edge, which mean the photo takes up the entire page all the way to the edge, no frame at all, full bleed looks much more professional and requires high quality printers and printsetting.

After checking out other printing services such as Photoworks, Snapfish, and Kodak, I decided to go with Shutterfly because: 1) It was the most affordable and 2) Shutterfly offered layouts that allowed fun collages and the layouts offered looked very nice. I placed the order on Thursday evening, selected the Priority Shipping option (3-5 days......
