april75 says "I never fail to watch Prancer every year!!" about Prancer

Every year the week after thanksgiving my sister and i get our hot chocolate and put on i the movie Prancer. My daughters will call and say what are you watching and I say Prancer of course!! This is FIRST Christmas movie we watch to kick off the Christmas season. with. The movie is so sweet, and the little girl who plays the lead is an excellent actor. The pain she feels when her Dad says she can't keep the reindeer that she knows is Prancer comes through. Cloris Leachman is a scream playing the town character, and watching her change into a lovable person is delightful. Sam Elliot does an excellent job showing how hard it was to be a single parent, trying to make ends meet especially at Christmas. I still tear up when the little girl and her friend Carol Ann tells her she doesn't believe there is a Santa, or even she wonders about the existence of God, and her tearful response is..your not my friend any more Carol Ann, because if there is no God then there is no Heaven then where...
...

april75 says "Happy ending are out there." about Miracle on 34th Street (Comparison Review)

Miracle on 34th Street is a family classic that I have it in my movie collection. In today"s world there are so many movies that you can't watch with your family ,let alonesmall children that it is refreshing to be able to sit through a movie and not worry what the next scene will be. The little girl in this movie is so adorable as was Natalie Wood character in the original Miracle on 34th Street. The scene where all the mail comes in for the man saying he is Santa is very heart warming. You really could use this movie as a tool with small children to teach them behavior attributes. The kindness of the old gent is great to watch along with the belief in the desires of a small child, that she knows what she is wanting and that it will come true. If you get a chance to rent the original movie of a Miracle on 34th Street do so. There seems to be a touch more innocence in life in that one. but either way you will want to add this movie to your Christmas collection!!

april75 says "Our Garmins name is Betty Lou" about Garmin - Nuvi 260w

My husband and I are the king and queen or getting lost. We have tried mapquest , maps you name it and we still got lost. So the logical choice was getting a garmin. We travel quite a bit so it has been a real life saver. It's really great to check out the local attraction, places to eat and at one time we needed to find a hospital and it took us right to it. We do appreciate that a voice will also tell us which way to go...The grandkids like watching the car drive on the screen and hearing the "lady" tell us which way to turn. We have found that it is accurate as far as the time it tells you of your arrival, but the one negative thing we have found that a few times it was way off in telling us where to turn..you know like into the woods. Not quite sure why that happens but we have heard of others having the same problem. If you are lost and miss where it tells you to turn, don't worry it will get you there one way or other...we count on Betty Lou whenever we travel.

april75 says "Dry Skin..not with Dr. Bronner" about Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap

After using many many cleansers..soaps and fun bubble bath products I saw my skin become drier and drier. While searching the web for more natural products I found a site about the safety in our skin products and what type of chemicals were in them. So the hunt was on to find more natural products. A trip to our local natural health food store came next where I found a large display of Dr. Bronners soaps, both in hand soap and the liquid soaps. I bought a small travel size at first and I was not disappointed with Dr. Bronners soap. My skin WAS not dried out after showering . The next trip out I bought a few others fragrances of Dr. Bronners soaps, liking the tea tree one..while it does not have a great smell like the peppermint one does it does work well as a anti fungal soap. Weird as that may sound..if I am around anything that I think might need heavy duty washing up after.ie being around animals, working in the soil I like to use that one. So give it a try , you can get the...
...

april75 says "taking 2 aleve at n ight takes the aches away and I can sleep" about Aleve Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer

It's spring time and I know I will be spending alot of time pulling those weeds..while I so enjoy seeing the results, I know I am going to pay for that work by the end of the night. Aching muscles and sore muscles will make sleep a real challenge. What comes to my mind is that I need to take something to help with those aching muscle or there will be no sleep. what comes to my mind is how well aleve has worked with headaches, so I take two to three aleve caplets usually with milk or something to eat, and I have never been disappointed with the results. I am wary with taking to much of any product so I have been pleased that two or three aleve takes care of those sore mucles without any stomach upset. So all you avid gardeners make sure you have aleve on hand for those great times you spend in your garden..and enjoy your handi work by day knowing that aleve will take care of those aches and pains by night!!
...
