That quote sums up the movie. A fun, leave-your-brain-at-the-door action movie. I just recently realized they made a sequel. That's now on my list.
...

We love this vacuum!! We have multiple cats in the house and they love to use our carpeted stairs as a jungle gym. The play on them constantly and subsequently the stairs get covered in cat hair on a regular basis. The Dyson Animal is by far the best vacuum for getting up cat hair -- especially with the animal attachment. We've tried several other ones ("traditional" brands which shall remain nameless), but none were as effective. I recommend this to anyone (and everyone) who has pets. Go get yours today!...

One of my cats loves these -- we have three. He loves it when you throw it at him: he bats it back. He's a larger cat so he mostly plays lying down, bet he can go for quite a while. Occassionally, he'll catch it and start biting and thumping it. With this comes the infectious crinkling noise. Then he'll start going nuts! Attacking, thumping, kicking, batting, chasing, etc. The sounds really get him worked up and he has a great time.

My other cats will occationally chase these up and down the stairs. But they have other balls the prefer. Well, cat's can be that way!...

andy says "I saw a 1973 Genesis show live...last night!" about Musical Box - - Chicago, IL

When you think 70's progressive rock you have to think of Genesis. One of the innovators in the genre, these guys rule! Now, some of the best Gabriel albums were made before I was born. So, I never got a chance to see them live. Fortunately, there's The Musical Box. This a full-on, no-holds-barred, take-a-trip-back-in-time tribute band to Gabriel era Genesis. They perform the exact shows from several of the early seventies album tours, including "Fox Trot", "Selling England by the Pound", and "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway". I saw the Selling England by the Pound show last night at the Vic Theater in Chicago. I have to say I was blown away. They have the exact sets (at least compared to the grainy videos I remember), same costumes, stage presence, and most importantly the exact music and sound. They used mostly authentic instruments of the day: Gretch and Gibson guitars and Moog bass pedals, and Moog keyboards. I wasn't close enough to tell for sure, I think they even had a real Mellotron.......

andy says "Usually right on target" about Target Stores

My wife and end up a Target at least once a week. It could be for cat food, coffee, a birthday card, office supplies, towels, laundry detergent, what-have-you. It is our main one-stop shopping center. The lines are never too long and we usually have no trouble finding what we need or discovering a deal in the dollar section. It is also one of the stores we look for when traveling and need to buy the few things we forgot to pack.

...

andy says "Only 90 Calories" about Kellogg's - Special K Blueberry Cereal Bar
After a late night at the office a few weeks ago I arrived at the train station a little hungry. I knew I had about an hour before I'd be home and needed to get something to eat. I couldn't bring myself to go to McDonald's or any of the other fast food joints. So I wandered around one of the little newsstands/convenient stores until I ran across the Special K Bars. Now, I am not one who typically goes for these types of snacks (I'm usually grab a candy bar). But I am trying to eat better the ingredients on this one were a bit different. It is essentially Special K (the cereal) with fruit but in a bar form -- and it's only 90 calories. So, I went for it. I bought two of the blueberry ones, hopped on to the train, unwrapped the first one, and took a bite. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness and overall richness of the taste. Just the smell by itself was inviting. I finished the first and wanted to dive right into the second one, but decided to wait a bit to see if I was still hungry.......

andy says "A complete convert" about Apple MacBook Pro

About a year ago I start a new job in which our development environment is the Mac Book Pro. In my previously life I had been a pretty hard core Linux guy -- I only used Windows when I had to. Moving to the mac platform has been a joy. Having the best of breed user interface coupled with a real command prompt is paradise.

The Mac just seems more natural. You have what you need and it is simple and straight forward. No more struggling with the package maintenance headaches that come with Linux or the frustration of Windows inconsistencies and brittleness. I can run my Mac Book Pro at work all day, work on the train ride home, and then do fun musical stuff in the evenings -- and it's all portable.
...

andy says "It's got that zip" about Mini Cooper - 2004

I have owned small cars all of my life. The mini is by far my favorite. It fits into those tight city spots and yet is surprisingly roomy, even for the tallest of my friends. It has great gas mileage and minimal maintenance. But the best attribute is the "zip" factor -- the agility and quickness to cut through traffic with confidence.
The small cars I have previously owned were Hondas, a CRX and a del Sol -- both of which I loved. The Mini is a step up from these. My 2004 had included maintenance for 3 years/30K miles -- covering basically everything except wiper blades and the clutch. For me this provided a high level of confidence in the quality of the engineering. It also the cold-weather package which includes seat warmers and the sun roof. These are things I wouldn't typically expect for a car at this reasonable of a price.

I couldn't recommend this car more for anyone looking for a small, fuel-efficient, fun car. Let's Motor!

...
