amy1017 says "Best manual pump out there!" about Avent Isis Manual Breast Pump

The Isis Manual breast pump made by Avent is wonderful. I had to take a trip to Orlando last year and I was going to leave my breastfed baby boy. I only had a automatic pump that worked on electricity. Since I knew I would have a few long hours at the airport, I purchased the Isis pump to use in the bathroom stall a few times and it was a lifesaver. I thought it would not work as well as the automatic pump but it worked just as well. I was surprised! I got almost as much milk out as I did with the automatic pump. For the low price, you can't beat it. It also came with a few Avent bottles and nippes to use with it. I already used all Avent bottles so that was very helpful as well. The only con I can see is that it did make my hand tired from all of the manual motion but that is to be expected from a "manual" pump! I would highly recomment this pump if you are looking for an easy, discreet pump to use on the go!
...

amy1017 says "My daughter loved this exersaucer!" about Evenflo Exersaucer Mega Activte Learning Center - Circus

The Exer Saucer Mega Circus is made by Evenflo, and it is great! My daughter loved all the colors, the plastic toys to chew on, and the Big Top Circus tent that played music when you turn it (child activated). It kept her happy for about a half hour at a time. It was not too much money compared to some of the bigger ones out there. As my daughter grew taller, I was able to adjust the height on it to 3 different levels. She loved it. It was a little difficult to assemble but overall it was done in about 1/2 hour. I did it while the kids slept one night, beware, it snaps together very loudly!!! My one complaint is the aformentioned Big Top Circus tent. It worked well and played music and had flashing lights for about a month and then it stopped. I called Evenflo and they sent a replacement but that one also broke (or the battery died) within a few months. I finally gave up replacing it, but she still liked to spin it around. Overall a great product!
...

amy1017 says "Nice Phone" about Uniden - PowerMax 2.4 GHZ Cordless Phone

I like our Uniden Power Max 2.4 Ghz. It has been a god little phone for us. It comes with caller ID and an answering machine that you can check remotely with a code. It is wall mounted which is so nice, I really couldnt find many wall mounted devices out there anymore and we have a wall jack in our kitchen. My only complaints are that the answering machine system seems to lose it's time and date stamp a lot, so when we receive calls, the time and date that it says for the call is always off. Also the 2.4 ghz frequency always interferes with our cable modem/ internet. If we get a phone call, we have to make sure to answer it on one of our 5.8 ghz phones so we wont get kicked off of the internet. I do like the speaker phone park of it and the caller id display on the phone. It has a very comfortable receiver and a small antenna that does not need to be retracted at all. Overall a great phone that we have owned for years and plan to have for years to come!!
...

amy1017 says "Awesome Camera!" about Canon - PowerShot SD750 Digital Camera

I really have no complaints about the Canon Powershot SD750 digital camera. It is small, lightweight, and the LCD view finder is huge compared to my last camera, which was a Canon 4.0 megapixel. It is a 3" screen and is very high quality and sharp. It takes amazing shots and has an automatic flash so I don't have to set it everytime. I have a second separate battery to keep on hand and charged when the first battery dies, which I highly recommend. I do miss having a view finder but I can get over that, I didnt use the view finder on my last Canon powershot much! The only thing I don't like about it is that it does not have a battery detect "bar" to show how much battery life you have left. It does have a face detect mode where when you aim the camera on a person, a little green box pops up to focus on the face, etc. It is so thin and compact, I can fit it in my jean pocket! Love it love it love it!
...

amy1017 says "It's a Pretty Good Monitor" about Graco iMonitor Multi-Child Digital Baby Monitor

The Graco iMonitor has been pretty good for us. Compared to the Sony monitor we have, it is great! Some of the pros: it has 2 receivers so we do not have to try to carry one around all day. We can keep one in our bedroom and one in the kitchen. Cons: short short short battery life. I literally try to take one of the receivers off of the base and carry it outside on the deck with me, and it starts beeping right away after about 5 minutes. It is very poor. I thought about buying a battery to go in it, but dont think it is worth it now that my son is almost 2. I wont be using a monitor for him at all for much longer. Another con is that you cannot turn the volume all of the way down or put it to "voice activated mode" like I can with my Sony monitor so in the dead of night when it is really quiet inside, I hear white noise when I am trying to sleep and it bugs me! But overall a good value. I found it on ebay for a lot less than it was selling for in the stores!
...

amy1017 says "An excellent choice for a car seat" about Eddie Bauer Adjustable Booster Car Seat

I really like my Eddie Bauer High Back Booster seat. We got it about a year ago for my son who was outgrowing his snugride at 12 months old. I wanted a car seat that faced forward and also could become a booster car sear when he outgrows needing the five point harness. I have not used it yet as a booster seat only but so far love it as a toddler car seat! It has arm rests that go up and down, a cup holder for his sippy cups and seems to be nicely cushioned for his head and back. I do like that it also has a tilt feature so it seems to recline back a little more. I didn't want him to be sitting straight up all of the time. My only big complaint on this car seat (and I have read other reviewers say the same thing) is that the crotch strap is a little short. It seems to always be hard to buckle it unless I give the straps a lot of slack first. And then once I do give it slack, it is VERY hard to get them tightened again! Overall, a great car seat!
...

amy1017 says "This Monitor is nothing exciting" about Sony BabyCall Nursery Monitor NTM-910 900 MHz

I have mixed feelings about this baby monitor. It is a great monitor in one major way: it allows the parent to turn it to "voice activated only" mode where you dont have to listen to white noise from the baby's nursery the whole time it is turned on. I loved that. BUT the negatives are numerous. It only has one receiver so we have had to carry it from our master bedroom to the kitchen area every day since my daugher was born three years ago! What a pain! Another negaitve is that the battery life is terrible. We have to have it plugged in over night or it will begin a terrible low battery beeping noise halfway through the night. One more thing I hate... if it happens to be sitting near my cell phone, it picks up the frequency and begins beeping and making a loud static noise. So as my cell phone sends out a signal periodically, the monitor will have a long static hiss noise. It really does not allow you to carry it too far from it's base. Not recommended.
...

amy1017 says "My favorite baby swing" about Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing

I really liked the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Swing. My daughter did too! It came highly recommended by my other mom friends. I think its advantages are that it is great for a younger child since it is reclined pretty far back (the seat is not adjustable though) so it is good for infants. I only used it until my daughter was 6 months old, so if you want something that will be used for larger kids, you may want to look elsewhere. What my daughter really liked was the fish mobile above her. She loved to look at the mobile and also at the little water filled aquarium filled with plastic fish above her. Also it was cool because you could turn the seat to go forward/backwards or to go side to side. She really like either way, If she was fussy one way, I would just turn it to go the other way. It was a bit pricey but I got it as a baby shower gift so that was ok. :) Two negatives are that it does not fold up, and also it did go through batteries quickly, hence my review of 4 stars...
...

amy1017 says "This high chair is just OK." about Eddie Bauer Natural Wood High Chair

The Eddie Bauer Natural Wood High Chair is just OK for me. I had bought it for my first child when she was born. I mainly liked it because it's light wood matched my oak hardwood floors in my kitchen. I also liked that it did NOT have all of the bells and whistles like a lot of those gaudy high chairs out there. I wanted something nice looking and simple. It does NOT fold up so it does take up a lot of floor space, but even that I did not mind. The main thing I did not like about this high chair is that it has a terrible safety harness. It is only a three point harness and was flimsy at that. My daughter could climb right out of it and actually stand up in the high chair by the time she was 18 mos old. I finally just didnt even use the harness at all and kept her in only by the tray (which is not recommended) I would suggest to just get what we ended up getting: the Fisher Price healthy care boster seat! More convenient and easier to clean! Not to mention cheap!
...

amy1017 says "Love this car seat" about Graco Platinum CarGo

I think the Graco Platinum CarGo is a great car seat. I had not registered for it for my baby shower, but someone got it for me anyway and I have really had no complaints about it thus far. It is made for kids that are ready to face forward in the car and what I love about it is that it will grow with my daughter. It will be a booster seat to be used with the car over-the-sholder seatbelt when she is older. She was 12 months and was the correct weight so I put her in this. She loved facing forward of course and she has never had a complaint about it being uncomfortable on long car trips. It does not have all of the bells and whistles such as a cup holder on the side and it is a little hard to take apart and clean, this is why I only gave this four stars out of a possible five. But overall I have been very happy with it. When I was redy to buy another car seat for my son, I wanted to get another CarGo but I think they have stopped making this model...? Maybe I just didnt search in the right...
...
