amia says "LOVE the Kong, wouldn't be without them!" about Kong Dog Toy

As a dog trainer, I bring up the Kong in every class I teach because they are amazing. — They keep dogs busy for hours if stuffed with yummy treats. This also stimulates your dogs brain as they try to get the treats out. — Have a dog with separation anxiety? A Kong may be just the thing to curb this behavior. Give a frozen stuffed Kong right before you leave and see the difference. Most all dogs with SA suffer the symptoms as you are leaving and right after you leave...if they have an irresistible Kong to keep them busy, it's easy for them to settle down. — They Kong itself is not exciting, I have students all the time that say, "my dog doesn't even look at his Kong". Well, you have to know how to use them. They are made to be stuffed with all your dogs favorite things. To stuff, fill the small hole with something like peanut butter or cream cheese to seal it. Then fill half way with your dogs normal food. Then (this is the fun part), fill with pretty much anything...

amia says "Much better foods out there for much better prices." about Hill's Science Diet Light Formula Canned Canine Maintenance

Science Diet is in every vet. clinic for a reason. The company that makes it sponsors almost every veterinarian program in every college or university. Huge kick-backs are given for selling as much as they can. — This food is not dangerous and it does the job of putting something in your dogs stomach every day but is a poor choice. Look at the ingredients on this "light" dog food. Ground peanut shells made me shake my head. There are so many indigestible fillers in this food that most of it just ends up in the back yard as waste, doing nothing for your pooch. You could feed another brand and just feed less and have better results on getting the extra weight off. Add 10% more exercise to your daily routine and you will have trim pup before you know it. — Just because it is on the same shelf and costs the same or more than quality premium foods does not mean it measures up. I would recommend almost any other brand. — Read labels carefully and get advice...

amia says "A 'must-have' for any dog trainer!" about Easy Spirit - shoes

As a dog trainer for the past 10 years, I have tried many different options in foot wear and once I tried Easy Spirit, I have ended my search. I will always wear Easy Spirit shoes for working with the dogs and they are trendy and fun enough to wear out after work. — If nothing else sticks in your mind, just think about wrestling with a Great Dane, that out weighs me by 100 lbs, trying to get him into the bath. These shoes have great non-slip tread so I don't slip on wet floors. They have a great fit that hug my feet. — Wash-ability is very important (often times it isn't water on the floors that make them slippery!). I wash these shoes at least once a week and they hold up great. Just throw them in the wash and let them air-dry overnight--good as new! — Comfort is HUGE when I'm on my feet for 10 back to back classes. I can crawl on the floor with my puppy classes, run through exercises with the advanced dogs and demonstrate doggy yoga (that's right I teach yoga...
