amaysing says "He's my bff -- until his books end..." about David Sedaris - Holidays on Ice

I love David Sedaris so much. I truly enjoy each of his books and simply DREAD the end of each one. I recently received the collection on CD -- I swear to you that I made up reasons to get back in the car to listen to even more. If you're smart, you'll buy this book. :P...

amaysing says ""YUM," said the baby. "Thanks!", said the planet." about Earth's Best Organic Baby Food

I made almost all of our baby's "baby food". It's important to me to give her the best possible start, limit her exposure to chemicals and hormones, and offer her the best tasting food in the hopes that she learns to enjoy a variety of foods. This product was what I used when we were on the go or when I wanted her to try the meat dishes. We are not crunchy parents (I'm eating cheese out of a can right now... :P), but when presented with this tiny little gift, how could we not try our best? :) If you're interested in these, try the pumpkin. YUM!...

amaysing says "you probably COULD do better ~ but you won't. :)" about One-A-Day Women's Formula Vitamin Tablets

Here's the thing... each time I read an article about this vitamin or that nutrient, I want to become my own little pharmacist. I spend hours reading about dosage, side effects, combinations, timing, etc. In the end, I waste time and money on regimens I'll never be able to carry out. This vitamin -- this is what I can do. One. A. Day. It's really that simple....

My heart belonged to Northern. I thought we'd be together til death parted us... but that was before Cottonelle came to town. One shopping trip, Northern wasn't there for me. And Northern please forgive me, I fell into the soft, strong arms of Cottonelle... I never knew it so good and now, I'll never go back.
...

amaysing says "we heart this vacuum" about Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive

We read EVERY review of every upright vacuum on the market. We test drove the Dyson - which we were positive we would purchase. To our surprise, the Dyson we tried pushedcheerios around on the floor (we have a one year old, so cheerio removal is high on our list). The front of the Dyson was simply too low -- I'm sure its a fine machine -- but its not the Kenmore. This thing tells you when the carpet is clean, works harder when the floor is dirtier, and even though its heavy to lift, its easy and light to use! It cost less than the Dyson and for us, works a TON better. We heart it. You should too....

amaysing says "It totally sucks. And not in a good way." about Eureka Vacuum - Optima - Lightweight Bagless Upright Vacuum - 431A

You get what you pay for. Or, in this case, you get even LESS than you pay for. It seemed like such a good idea -- an affordable, lightweight vacuum for our not-so-big upstairs area. We wouldn't have to lug a vacuum up and down and it would be so much more convenient for small messes. Wrong, wrong wrong wrong wrong. For the price, I guess it would be ok for a small apartment with the same flooring throughout. It's manageable -- if you HAVE to. However, I'd highly recommend taking a step up and getting a vacuum that will actually work on different types of flooring and that SUCKS rather than blows....

amaysing says "Clinique 3 Step - a dance worth doing." about Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

OK. I've tried them all. While there are face lotions that I liked more for varying reasons, none delivered such value and performance. When this lotion is used as part of their 3 step program, this lotion makes my face soft, smooth, and happy. Also, for dryer spots, they make a heavier moisturizer which you can layer. ...

amaysing says "Oh, Jane! How we miss thee!" about Jane Magazine

Without Jane Pratt, there is no Jane. Or Pratt, for that matter. Gone are the days of snarky interviews, truthful product reviews, and make it yourself tiedye stationery. I hate the new girl acting like a jane, when obviously, she's more of a tiffany or amber... Total waste of time and it might even lower your IQ. Not worth the risk....

amaysing says "it's all or nothing with these babies" about havent seen any good ones

I bought these because they were recommended to us by EVERYONE. How could we not get them? They are touted as helping with air/gas/colic -- our baby was colicky, so I cannot speak to that -- maybe it would have been even worse without these. The real problem with these bottles is the leaking. Either they are fine or they POUR out. We've believed several times now that we figured them out -- we haven't. I'm too cheap to give up on them and hope that our daughter will convert to a sippy cup any day now....
