Believe it or not, I actually won both the Maytag Performance Series Front-load washer and dryer in a contest. The were delivered to me and I got them in the crimson red color, which look amazing! While I didn't have a choice to do my own research and decide on a machine myself, I couldn't be more pleased with these Maytag machines. As front-loaders and Energy Star compliant, it helps to cut down our energy bill. What I like best is how easy they are to operate. The digital dashboard makes it simple to pick settings, and the machine will actually auto-set the settings for rinsing, load type, spin cycles based on the options you chose as you go along. It always knows the best temperature and spin cycles and for whites and darks, delicates, so very little work for you to do. If I could only take one beauty product with me on a trip, it would be my CoverGirl Simply Powder compact. It's hard to believe I have been using this product everyday for almost 10 years! I started using it in college and haven't stopped using it since! It comes in a variety of shades to match your skin tone and many have changed or been discontinued throughout the years, but they are, for the most part, able to complement any skin tone. I tend to use a slightly darker shade in the summer when I have a little bit of a tan on my face and a lighter shade in the winter. This is a great product for getting a nice even color and base to your face. Very light and non-greasy, it helps cover skin discoloration and helps even out color and covers blemishes. I usually put mosturizer on first so I don't have any skin flakes and then the powder stays on all day! I get a lot of complements on my skin and I attribute it to the Covergirl Simply Powder that I wear everyday.

I have all hardwood floors on my main level and I have been looking for an easy and quick solution for all the dirt we track in from outside on a daily basis by our front door and the crumbs on left on the kitchen floor on a daily basis. Until now, I have been using the old fashioned broom and dust pan every day because I don't want to take out the big vacuum cleaner every day for just little clean-ups. Sweeping took a long time and got tiresome doing it every day. This Eureka Quick-up Vacuum is a great solution! It is not ultra powerful, but rather just as it is named...a "quick-up" vacuum--perfect for little daily clean-ups. I find it actually works best on its "carpet" setting, even on my hardwood floors! I received the Rival 5.5 Qt Smartpot as a gift last fall and have used it several times.. I was having guests over for dinner on a Friday night a few weeks ago, so I made chili the night before, refrigerated it overnight in the crockpot and then left it in the slow cooker all day on Friday while I was at work. It was so nice to come home that afternoon and not have to worry about rushing to get dinner ready in time for my guests to arrive. I had it on the lowest setting all day, and it did get quite hot, but it was also on for about 10 hours without being stirred all day. All I had to do was stir it up when I got home and it was ready to be served when my guests arrived! Fairly easy clean-up with the removable pot too. What I really love about this crockpot is its fun red shimmering color. In the era of stainless steel where that seems to be what everyone has in their kitchen, I think this is a fun color to punch up the kitchen with some color when I have it out.

I did a lot of research online before deciding on the Krups KM7000 Grind and Brew 10-cup Coffeemaker. My fiance and I are big coffee drinkers and we had been looking forward to upgrading from our $19.99 coffeemaker. I loved the idea of having one machine that would grind fresh whole beans and make coffee on the spot Once you figure out the settings and how to set the beans to grind and coordinate with the strength and number of cups, it is fairly easy to use. You can set it to grind coarsely or fine and can make strong or weak coffee. The coffee tasted great! The thing that killed the deal for me was that this coffeemaker steamed so much and spurted water all over our kitchen counter and hardwood floors. Not sure if ours was just a faulty machine, but it made so much of a mess, I had to return it. Also, the directions say that the filter needs to be replaced every 70 uses, which is about every 70 days in our household. It seemed like a lot of unnecessary upkeep and...
