VolFanGrl says "A great smelling, soft way to save money!!!" about Bounce Dryer Bar

When I first heard of this product, Bounce-Dryer Bar, I had no idea what it was, or how it could possibly work! But, we decided to give it a shot, and bought one. At first, I wasn't all that impressed. It seemed that when I got my clothes OUT of the dryer, I kept getting "shocked", I thought to myself, "Great, now all my clothes are going to have static!!!." But, it turns out, I was wrong....imagine that! lol

Now, I love it! It's all we use, and because of THIS wonderful site, I got a free one in the mail, JUST as my last one was running out!!! It works so well, my clothes are soft and STATIC free, and I don't have to worry about those pesky dryer sheets hiding in my pants legs and embarrassing me later on.....as they so often did....:(

In the end, it ends up SAVING me money, time, and embarrasment....what more can I ask for in a product?
...

VolFanGrl says "Only thing that's ever worked for me" about Phentermine Diet Pill

When I went to the Doctor earlier this year after a bout with pneumonia, he told me that I had gained 30lbs since I had seen him last! I knew I had put on some weight, but, I never realized it was that much!!! I told him, I don't understand, I haven't changed my eating habits, I'm not eating more than I used to, or anything a lot more fattening, why am I gaining weight? He said, "Your 30 now. Everything's pretty much down hill from here...just kidding." But, he did explain that as you age, you HAVE to change your eating habits, because your metabolism changes. I knew this, I just guess I was in denial!! Anyway, I asked him if there was anything he could give me to help. I've always had weight issues, and it's never been easy for me to loose weight, I just wanted some help.

He gave me Phenteramine. I don't have RX insurance, so I was a little wary, but, I get my RX's at K-Mart pharmacy, and while it wasn't on the "4 dollar plan" (bummer!), they do have a RX discount card that they use for...
...

VolFanGrl says "Good Movie..if squemish, don't get UNRATED version...." about The last House on The Left

********IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE AND ARE PLANNING TO DO NOT READ THIS. SPOILERS WILL BE MENTIONED......*******

Last House on the Left is a movie that answers the question: "What would you do if you were trapped in a home with the person/people who terrorized and tried to kill your child?".......

Let me just say this, I am NOT squeamish. Blood and guts do not disgust me. Especially in a horror movie, the more the better....but, there is a scene in this movie that made me cringe. I actually covered my eyes and if I could have I would have covered my ears as well, but, alas, I only have two hands....it wasn't the blood and gore, it was the rape scene. If you've seen the movie, you know exactly what I am talking about. It was so UNNECESSARY. I know that it was meant to make you hate the "bad" guys more, to give you a better idea of how horrible they truly are and how much they deserved to die in the ways that they did. But, still, it could have been done WITHOUT being so graphic,...
...

VolFanGrl says "Full of plot twists I never expected....." about New Moon (The Twilight Saga, Book 2)

I was highly anticipating this book. I had finished Twilight, and watched the movie, I could hardly contain myself. I read over half of the book in the first day!!!

While I was disappointed that there wasn't more Edward/Bella in this one, I thought that it was important to explore the relationship between Bella and Jake. While, I haven't read the next two novels yet, I was never so excited when Bella and Edward were reunited in the end. They are truly this generations Romeo and Juliet. I just hope that it doesn't end as tragically as that book did.....

During the break-up part of the book, though I felt silly, I cried like a baby!!! When I was 15-16 yrs old, I myself went through a terrible breakup, and while it was....a long time ago, the authors telling of it brought all of those old emotions flooding back! I felt that emptiness that Bella felt, and that pain, as I'm sure most, if not all, teens experience at some time or another. There is nothing on this earth like the pain of losing...
...

VolFanGrl says "Not as good as the book.....but still terrific!" about Twilight - The Movie

After I read the book, I could barely wait to watch the movie. While it wasn't as good as the book, but, really, what movie is EVER as good as the book?, it was still wonderful!!!

Seeing the characters from the page come to life on the screen was exciting. I think the selection of actors fit PERFECTLY! While I had seen previews for the movie, at the time I had no intention of reading the books, because I thought they were intended for teens, but, thankfully, my husbands cousing talked me into reading the books. But, while seeing the previews, I hadn't really paid much attention to what the characters looked like. When I saw them on the screen, it was like they had been pulled directly from what I had imagined they would look like!!!

I am looking so forward to the next instalment in this saga.
...

VolFanGrl says "Best Book I've Read In A LOOONG Time" about Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)

I have to admit, I went into this book wary....I had heard that it was more for teens and young adults. And, since I just turned 30 (gulp), I had no intention of reading it. BUT, my husbands cousin, I think she's 21, kept telling me that I HAD to read it, that I would love it. But, when her MOTHER chimed in and told me the same thing, I thought, "What the heck!" So, I bought it....I am so glad I did.

I immediatly fell in love. It took me back to my teen years (which weren't SO long ago!!), and I could actually feel that angst and passion of your first love....Edward and Bella are perfect. I could barely put the book down! I couldn't wait to watch the movie afterward!

This writer, Stephanie Meyer, put into words every emotion I felt at that age! She is such a wonderful author, and I can't wait to check out some more of her work!

I am so glad that I listened to my husbands cousin and picked up this book.....it is well worth it!!!
...

I am almost 30 years old and I work in a stressful atmosphere, and my life in general is very stressful! I began to have EXTREME mood swings, and went to my Dr. I thought I was either going crazy or my hormones were all "out of whack". He put me on Lexapro, and it changed my life.
I feel "normal" for the first time in a long time! I doesn't make me feel "drugged up" or tired. In fact, I can't even tell that I've taken it....unless of course I DON'T take it!...

I was lucky enough to receive this product to try. The funniest thing about it was that I had forgotten to tell my husband about it, and he had just saw a commercial on TV about it and was about to go buy one, when it arrived in the mail!!!

I am a short person, so cleaning outside windows is next to impossible! But, with this handy dandy product, it is much simpler!!! I was a very convienent way to reach those hard to reach places!

I have been a fan of Bonnie Hunt's for awhile now. When I began to see the adds that she was going to have her own talk show I was excited. Of course, I work a day shift job, I don't get to watch it all the time, mostly only on Fridays, or on the days I know she's gonna be having a show I want to watch, I'll set it to record on my DVR and watch it later. But, every episode I've watched has been great!
She's so funny and quirky, and she has the BEST set hands down!! She's always so courteous to her guests, she doesn't care to get her hands dirty, she talks a lot about her childhood and even her old garbage guys on there the other day that she and her sisters (and all the girls in the neighborhood) had crushes on when they were teens!
I love how down to earth she is! She has the terrific sense of humor, and will say (and do!) anything! She's an improv comedian, so when she had a lady on talking about compost, she "drank" a glass of worm pee and feces! I was truly laughing so hard I was almost......

*****If you HAVE NOT seen the movie yet and don't want to read any spoilers, DO NOT read this*****

Since I've gotten older, and my trick or treating days are over :( my favorite way to spend Halloween night is to bundle up on the couch and watch a scary movie. This year was no different, an it was a great one! Actually, it might just be the best scary movie I've ever seen, at least in a very long time!!!

The film opens with the following narration:
“ What you are about to see is inspired by true events. According to the FBI there are an estimated 1.4 million violent crimes in America each year. On the night of February 11, 2005 Kristen McKay and James Hoyt went to a friend's wedding reception and then returned to the Hoyt family's summer home. The brutal events that took place there are still not entirely known. ”The young couple, played by Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, are upset because he apparently proposed to her her, but, she turned him down.

I'm a little slow on the draw on this one guys, my apologies. I've been dealing with some illnesses lately, and haven't been able to get on the computer as much. But, I don't want to leave anything out, better late than never!

UFC 88: Breakthrough
First up Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald (who, I am personally sick of! I think this guy is in EVERY MMA event! lol) vs Jason "The Punisher" Lambert. It was a fairly quick fight, with MacDonald "punishing" Lambert with a rear naked choke in the second round.

Second up Tim "The Barbarian" Boetsch vs Michael Pat. I don't know much about Pat, but, Boetsch is an up an comer who pulls out the win by TKO in the first round. He's fun to watch!

Third was Thiago Tavares vs Kurt "Batman" Pellegrino went all the way, but, was a pretty exciting fight with Pellegrino coming up with win by Unanimous Decision.

Then there was Dong Hyun Kim vs Matt Brown, who was on The Ultimate Fighter last season, and who is one of my favorite up and coming fighters.

I admit it. I am a soap opera junkie....well, maybe I should rephrase. I'm a General Hospital junkie. I've been watching it for....well, most of my life! This site is one of, if not the, best I've found. It's so easy to navigate, there are TONS of spoilers (if you are into reading them, which I am), and tons of info about the actors/actresses on the shows you love. It has all the shows on there, and the discussion boards are great! Most everyone on the site is wonderful, very helpful and nice, always eager to answer any questions you might have. There are links to other sites to check out, pics and avatars of your faves, as well as groups you can join if there are certain characters you just can't get enough of! If you like soaps and you like to keep up with what's going on, or just want to chat with other people who are just as crazy as you are about your faves, check out this site!...

I was looking forward to this show from the first time I saw the preview of it. Mostly because J J Abrams had a hand in it, so I knew it would be good. Second, I love sci-fi dramas that keep me guessing from day one! I wasn't disappointed. From the first episode it was great. I love the characters and the actors who play them. I think this season is going to be interesting and intriguing and will have a lot "AHA!" moments and probably even more "EWWWW!" ones!

Well, it's that time of the month again....no not THAT time (lol), it's UFC time!!! One Saturday out of the month they have a new UFC battle.....
This one was called UFC 87:Seek and Destroy. The headliner was the current Welter Weight title holder Georges St. Pierre (GSP), defending his title for the first time against Jon Fitch.
Here is a rundown of the action of the night....

The Fights
Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald vs Demian Maia. Jason is more of stand up and fight kind of fighter, and Maia is a submission expert. BUT, MacDonald pulled this one out with a Rear Naked Choke in the 3rd round, surprising (and probably disappointing) several fans.

Cheick Kongo vs Dan Evenson. Kongo is a very intimidating fighter. When he walks into the ring, you sit up and pay attention. He's a dominating, powerful, talented fighter. And he didn't disappoint tonight, pulling out the win.

Manny Gamburyan vs Rob Emerson. This was a quick one, ladies and gentlemen.
VolFanGrl says "Slow Paced, Dull Hosts, Decent Fights, Fedor Rocks" about Affliction:Banned

I was looking very forward to this event. It was the very first Affliction event, I was excited about the fights that were hyped, especially the Fedor vs Sylvia fight....but, I was sorely disappointed. The fights were somewhat exciting, and I wasn't at all disappointed in the Fedor fight, but, it was the BETWEEN the fights that was horrible!

First of all, the hosts were dull and boring. Jay Glazer, Frank Trigg, and "Big" John McCarthy. Not a fan of Jay Glazer, but, love the other too. I don't think that "Big" John got nearly enough "talk" time. He used to be a ref, and he's an entertaining guy, but, he was reduced to doing the after fight interviews, that are mostly made up of thanking the sponsors and crew. Frankie "Twinkle Toes" Trigg didn't speak up much either during the fights, which left it mainly up to Jay Glazer, who, under the circumstances did a great job. Except that he kept going on and on about what an exciting event this was....but, it really wasn't...

The wait between fights......

VolFanGrl says "Dramatic, Exciting, Unnerving.....Real" about Untold Stories of the ER

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, nothing on TV, so I was flipping through the channels and came upon this show, Untold Stories of the ER on Discovery Health. Immediately, I was intrigued. I have always been a fan of medical dramas, especially the real stuff. It must have been a marathon or something because there were like 4 or 5 on in a row.

The Show
There are usually 3 different "stories" that they tell, simultaneously. Throughout the telling of these stories they are reenacting the actual events, sometimes they even have the real patients as the actors. They are also interviewing the attending Dr's, nurses, patients, and family/friends of the patients. It's all very dramatic and entertaining. Sometimes it's even funny! But, I warn you, it is not for the weak of heart....or stomach. I don't have a weak stomach, but, I had to look away a few times!

My Take
I work in a hospital, though, not as a nurse or physician. I am only in the office, but, even there I have had patients collapse in the......

VolFanGrl says "I thought I had stepped into a real Italian restaruant " about Pizza Hut Tuscani Pasta-Creamy Chicken Alfredo

I had seen the commercials for the Tuscani Pasta's at Pizza Hut and wanted to give them a try, but, honestly I don't eat at Pizza Hut all that much. But, one weekend my hubby and I got a craving and stopped in.....I'm glad we did.

The commercials show only the family deal, but, you can buy just an individual serving. We dined in, so they brought it to me in this huge bowl, with little green parsley around the lid of the bowl (I guess to make it look fancy!), and a side of Texas toast. I dug in and it was delicious! I'll admit, while I love pasta I haven't had much experience with Chicken Alfredo, but, this is definitely one of the best I'VE tasted. And the serving is so much that I took it home and had it for lunch the next day as well!! I can't remember the exact price, but, I believe it was $6.99 (which isn't bad when you consider it could be two meals!). They also have another variety, Meaty Marinara, but, I didn't try it.

Every Thursday my father in law comes over for dinner with us,......

VolFanGrl says "Surprising Deals, Good Customer Service, Great Pharmacy" about Kmart - Houston, TX

I live in a small town and we don't have a lot of shopping centers around me, but, I can drive about 10-20 minutes in either direction and hit a Wal-Mart.....but, 9 out of 10 times, I opt to drive the 5-10 minutes to the K-Mart in my hometown. Sometimes, if you comparison shop, Wal-Mart DOES have lower prices, but, K-Mart has that small town, HOMEtown feel. The one that I shop at I have been a customer with for most of my 29 years, and I know a lot of the staff by name and was even an employee there many years ago for one short summer. Their pharmacy is the best around us, they have competitive prices (yes, they TOO have $4 RX's), the pharmacists and staff know me and my husband by face and usually have my RX's ready for me when I come up to the counter. I rarely go to K-Mart and leave without buying something on sale. The other day I even bought some books that were marked down to only a penny!!! You can't even buy a book for a penny at a yard sale these days!!! The staff is mostly helpful,......
