VolFanGrl says "Dramatic, Exciting, Unnerving.....Real" about Untold Stories of the ER

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, nothing on TV, so I was flipping through the channels and came upon this show, Untold Stories of the ER on Discovery Health. Immediately, I was intrigued. I have always been a fan of medical dramas, especially the real stuff. It must have been a marathon or something because there were like 4 or 5 on in a row. — — The Show — There are usually 3 different "stories" that they tell, simultaneously. Throughout the telling of these stories they are reenacting the actual events, sometimes they even have the real patients as the actors. They are also interviewing the attending Dr's, nurses, patients, and family/friends of the patients. It's all very dramatic and entertaining. Sometimes it's even funny! But, I warn you, it is not for the weak of heart....or stomach. I don't have a weak stomach, but, I had to look away a few times! — — My Take — I work in a hospital, though, not as a nurse or physician. I am only in the...

VolFanGrl says "I thought I had stepped into a real Italian restaruant " about Pizza Hut Tuscani Pasta-Creamy Chicken Alfredo

I had seen the commercials for the Tuscani Pasta's at Pizza Hut and wanted to give them a try, but, honestly I don't eat at Pizza Hut all that much. But, one weekend my hubby and I got a craving and stopped in.....I'm glad we did. — — The commercials show only the family deal, but, you can buy just an individual serving. We dined in, so they brought it to me in this huge bowl, with little green parsley around the lid of the bowl (I guess to make it look fancy!), and a side of Texas toast. I dug in and it was delicious! I'll admit, while I love pasta I haven't had much experience with Chicken Alfredo, but, this is definitely one of the best I'VE tasted. And the serving is so much that I took it home and had it for lunch the next day as well!! I can't remember the exact price, but, I believe it was $6.99 (which isn't bad when you consider it could be two meals!). They also have another variety, Meaty Marinara, but, I didn't try it. — — Every Thursday my father...

VolFanGrl says "Surprising Deals, Good Customer Service, Great Pharmacy" about K-Mart

I live in a small town and we don't have a lot of shopping centers around me, but, I can drive about 10-20 minutes in either direction and hit a Wal-Mart.....but, 9 out of 10 times, I opt to drive the 5-10 minutes to the K-Mart in my hometown. Sometimes, if you comparison shop, Wal-Mart DOES have lower prices, but, K-Mart has that small town, HOMEtown feel. The one that I shop at I have been a customer with for most of my 29 years, and I know a lot of the staff by name and was even an employee there many years ago for one short summer. Their pharmacy is the best around us, they have competitive prices (yes, they TOO have $4 RX's), the pharmacists and staff know me and my husband by face and usually have my RX's ready for me when I come up to the counter. I rarely go to K-Mart and leave without buying something on sale. The other day I even bought some books that were marked down to only a penny!!! You can't even buy a book for a penny at a yard sale these days!!! The staff is mostly...

I have always liked Solitaire, I play it a lot on the computer, my phone, even with actual cards, but, now I've found a new place to play, on Xbox 360's Live Arcade came Solatrio Solitaire. There are over a hundred different Solitaire games to play! I never had any idea that there were that many different types!! Some are more difficult than others, and some are very similar, and yes they have the regular version, Klondike!! It's a fun way to fill a boring afternoon....

VolFanGrl says "Inexpensive way to travel without ever leaving your home" about PostCrossing

When I was in elementary school I had a pen pal from Australia. She was actually a Vietnamese girl about my age whose family had fled the country during the war and made their home in Australia, but, I digress.... — One thing we exchanged, besides letters, were postcards and pictures. I still have those today, though I have long since lost contact with my friend. Today, I came across this site and immediately signed up. — I haven't actually got to do it yet, since it's almost 2am where I am, and it's Sunday (no mail), but, I got the idea of what happens. — — PostCrossing — After you sign up, you click on the "Send a Postcard" button and they send you a random name (at least I assume it's random). Once you have the name, it's simple. You send them a postcard in the mail. Once they receive the postcard, they log it into their account and then you receive a postcard from someone, I don't think it's the same person unless they choose to send you one back....

This started out as a gift. Last Christmas I got the Cherry Blossom scent as a gift, and fell in love. It smells wonderful, leaves your hands feeling clean and moisturized, but, not greasy! It's Anti-Bacterial, which is huge for me! I work in the medical field and am CONSTANTLY using hand sanitizer, when I'm not washing my hands, so, it's nice to have this that gets my hands as clean as I want them, but, leaves my hand soft unlike most hand sanitizers! — I just got another one for my birthday, Black Raspberry Vanilla. It also smells wonderful! My hubby doesn't like it much, he says it makes him smell like a girl....but, I just tell him it makes him smell tasty....that usually works! lol — —...

VolFanGrl says "Better than I expected..." about Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste with Mini Breath Strips, Kiss Me Mint

Again this journey began with a free sample. I usually use Crest, most of my experiences with Colgate have left my mouth dry, but, I signed up to receive this free sample, and thought I'd give it a try....and was pleasantly surprised. — The package is a shiny blue (I got cool mint as my sample), which is eye catching. It has mini Breath Strips right in the toothpaste, which I found a bit intimidating at first because I thought it might be too hot or have a strange texture to it. But, it was neither of those things. You can't feel the breath strips at all, even though you can see them. — The paste foams up just the right amount with little toothpaste, making the tube last longer. It leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh. No dry mouth to report at all. Once the sample was gone, I bought a big tube! My hubby and I both like it. — It is a little pricey, but, what can I say. EVERYTHING is a little pricey right now! — —...

I had seen the previews for this show a few times, and saw it advertised for in TV guide, and thought I would check it out. I am a big fan of cop shows, like Law and Order, CSI, Women's Murder Club (RIP). This is yet another in a long line of those shows. — — ABOUT THE SHOW — It's about a US Marshall named Mary Shannon, played by the beautiful Mary McCormack. She's your typical tough girl cop. She's single and doesn't play well with others. She's a wise cracking, gun toting, brash cop with a dysfunctional family including a drunk of a mother, Jinx and a very co-dependent sister, Brandi, who's got a nasty drug problem, and has a tendency to hot wire cars. — She's also got a quirky partner, Marshall Mann, (who by the way is technically US Marshall Marshall....lol) played by Fred Weller, who is her polar opposite (of course), and his own wry sense of humor. — And then their is her hunky on again-off again boyfriend, Raphael Ramirez, played by the...

VolFanGrl says "Easy, fun, surveys...earn points for cool stuff!" about Zoom Panel Surveys

Here's another cool site to try out if you like surveys! I've been a member for about a year now. I haven't actually gotten any products to try or anything like that, but, for every survey you do for them, you earn points (even if you don't qualify to complete the survey, you get 5 points). Once you get so many points you can cash them in for prizes. There are different levels of prizes depending on how many points you have. You have to have at least 1,000 points to be able to get ANYTHING. I have around 2,500 now, but, I am trying to save them. — For 1000 points you get things like CD's, DVD's, Books, cheaper items. The next step up is 2,000, then 2,500, 3,000, 3,500, 5,000, 7,500, and finally 10,000! The more points you have the nicer the prize. I'm trying to wait as long as I can, hopefully 10,000, and get a nice gift! It will take some time, but, it will be worth it. And your points can roll over from year to year, as long as you stay active on your account and continue to...

VolFanGrl says "Fun way to review you fave shows" about RewardTV

Overview — This is my kinda site. It combines my three favorite things. TV, Surveys, and Free Stuff!!!! Once you sign up, you go watch your fave shows. Be sure to pay attention to details during your show, especially commercials! Then, the next day, you go to the site and sign up for survey's about the shows you watched. You also get to take surveys about movies you've watched, or movie trailers you've seen. It's perfect for the TV or Movie Buff in you! — For the survey's that you do, you earn points. Then you use those points to cash in for gift cards, or sign up for auctions on cool stuff, or use them to join in drawing for different things. — — The Good — Earn points taking surveys on shows or movies that you would've watched anyway. You earn a lot of points, not just like 5 per survey! It doesn't take long to rack up a lot of points! They have great gift cards for food, clothes, and GAS! You can join the auction for items like Wii's or IPod's, and...

Another freebie site (but, really, is there EVER really TOO much FREE stuff?). I also got this from a link on another free site. I like this site mainly because of the quirky, funny guy who runs it. He makes getting free stuff even more fun! He usually has some funny thing to say, and he tries to always let you know when the link is dead. Free stuff goes fast. Once it's released out there to the public, it doesn't take long for the item(s) to be gone. A lot of the time, I'm too late to claim MY free shampoo.....bummer. But, that's why they say the early bird gets the worm....or in this case, a free sample of perfume! — Check it out!
I found this site on a link from another freebie site. I am always wary when I check out a new freebie site, because most want you to sign up before you can look around, and if you aren't careful, you have suddenly given your email address to a thousand companies and your gonna be receiving tons of spam!! But, this site is legit. I really like it because it's easy to navigate, and there aren't a lot of sponsor related freebies, which I HATE and REFUSE to do! I've gotten a lot of free samples and things from this site! — Another thing about freebie sites is that most of them list the same things, because, well, whoever is running the site is probably finding out about the freebies from the same place that the other guys is finding out about his! But, I always check them all out, because there is usually something on this site, that isn't on the others. — And as I always say, I LOVE GETTING FREE STUFF IN THE MAIL!!

There were a lot of fights on this card. There actually usually are, but, most of them aren't aired because it is only aired live for 2-3 hours. But, most of these fights were so fast paced that they were able to show almost all of them!! That's getting your moneys worth if you ask me! — BJ Penn Vs. Sean Sherk — This was the main event. Sean Sherk was the Lightweight Champ, but, then he tested positive for steroids, and they took the title from him. Then BJ Penn fought to win the interim title. Sean Sherk eventually passed lie detector tests and such and was allowed to fight again. This was to see who was really the UFC Lightweight Champ. — Turns out, it's BJ Penn. It was a pretty close fight, going three rounds (out of 5), but, BJ finally got the win with a knee to the head that dazed Sean, he went down and BJ flurried on him, and the ref stopped it. There is no question now who the champ is! — Wanderlei Silva Vs. Keith Jardine — This was by...

I received a sample of this toothpaste in the mail (thank you Wal-Mart!), and I am so grateful that I didn't actually buy this product! — At first look, I thought, "Wow, this looks like a really cool toothpaste!". The tube is very shiny silver. It really stands out next to the average white tube of Crest I usually have in my bathroom. It says EXTREME CLEAN: POLISHING ACTION in big letters across the front. Another plus, I think. With micro-active foaming action it boasts. I think, well if it foams, it must be cleaning my teeth right?! — So, night falls, and my hubby and I get ready for the big test. Time to try out the new toothpaste. — I twist off the lid, and immediately wrinkle my nose in distaste... — It stinks. — It doesn't smell minty fresh, like toothpaste is supposed to. But, it's free, and the package is really cool..... — I put the red and white striped pasted on my toothbrush and into my mouth. — YUCK! — It tastes worse...

At the time it was an invitation only survey site, but, they had opened up the site to the general public for a limited time, and I got to join. (I think now it is just open to everyone) — The way it works is, after you sign up with them, you will get emails with links to surveys. For EVERY survey you do, you receive a $3.00 check in the mail. It may not sound like a lot, but, who doesn't like getting an extra three bucks in the mail a few times a month. — For certain surveys that you qualify for, you even get to test products for them. So far, I have gotten to test food three times, and body wash. You won't qualify for every one. You won't know you actually did qualify until you receive it in the mail.

I was never a history buff when in school. So, I really knew very little about King Henry VIII, except that he had a bunch of wives and he had most of them killed. Not a great guy. When I saw the previews for The Tudors, I thought the actor looked really hot, and thought I'd give it a try. — I was hooked from the beginning. — — Premise of The Tudors — (to save time this is a BRIEF overview of Seasons 1-2) — It is,obviously, the story of King Henry VIII, played beautifully by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The show begins as he is already King, married to his deceased brothers wife, Katherine of Aragon. They have a young daughter, Mary. By the time the show begins, he has already lost interest in his wife, and has many mistresses. Then he meets Anne Boleyn. He falls in love with her, has his marriage to Katherine annulled, much to her and a lot of other peoples disdain, and winds up marrying a pregnant Anne Boelyn in a secret ceremony after banishing Katherine...

I don't remember how or when I found this site, but, I am so thankful that I did. I visit it so often I feel like it should be my home page! I signed up for the newsletter and receive and daily email from the guy who runs the site, James. My favorite part of the daily email (besides the free offers and contests of course) is his "useless fact of the day". Most are really interesting, some are just plain silly! He has great links to cool sites, and so many free offers it's unbelievable how much free stuff I've gotten because of this site.
VolFanGrl says "Best Rates, Great Customer Service" about Farm Bureau Insurance

Let's just start by saying that I am not the.....safest driver in the world. I have had 4 car accidents (but, in my defense only ONE was my fault!). But, today, I was at the Dollar Store and saw this on sale. I've looked at them several times, but, they were always a little pricey for me...but, since it was on sale and I was desperate I broke down. — I'm glad I did. — We hung it on the wall about in the middle of the living room above a door frame. Set it to 18 minutes and voila, smells wonderful! It's not overwhelming, even right after it sprays. It's just a subtle smell, that lingers between puffs. We got lavender, which was all they had on sale. I'm not a...
