Unique says "I bought an upgraded hard drive for this DVR from Weaknees.com" about Weaknees.com

When my Hughes DirecTV 40-hour DVR's hard drive failed, I had to replace it and quick. DirecTV was not willing to send me another one unless I committed to 2 more additional years with them (I already gave them nearly 7), pay $100 for it and agree to give it back to them if I decided to get rid of my service with them AFTER the 2 years were up. Yeah, right! They discontinued using DVRs manufactured by other companies and decided to make their own. And from what I hear, their own branded DVR (that does not have Tivo) is one of the worse DVRs on the market. — — I resorted to going to ebay.com to find the same DVR, but I always get concerned with getting jerked over on ebay so I did some searching and found a site that came with high and rave reviews -- weaknees.com. Weaknees.com came to my rescue. I was able to purchase a replacement hard drive kit. I settled for the 250-hour hard drive so that I could get more season passes...

Unique says "If you don't know the deal, try edealinfo!" about edealinfo.com

I was in the market to build a new pc so I was searching online for discount codes for certain items that I wanted to purchase and just so happened to find edealinfo.com. I believe I found this site by doing a google search. Edealinfo.com has hundreds of discount coupon codes that are not offered anywhere else on the web (well, I haven't found them any where else). — — Edealinfo.com is not a retailer and sells no merchandise on its website. It is merely for informational purposes. All you need to do is type in the search box what you are looking for and if there are any discounts associated with the product, you will get a list of stores offering the product, the cost of the product, any deals offered for the product including rebate information, the date the deal expires, shipping cost and the final cost of the product inclusive of discounts and rebates. Edealinfo.com will show this information for all merchants that are offering the product...

Unique says "DirecTV - Either you like them or you don't!" about DIRECTV

I have been with DirecTV for over 6 years now. I heard the bad stories about the signal going out when it rains or snows, but I haven't had much of a problem with that. Mine will go out during a major thunderstorm, but not for just rain or snow. — — At the time I started my service, they offered me their most expensive package for $44.99 a month for four months. I'm no fool, I took that deal. I had a standard definition receiver and round dish installed with no problems. Unfortunately, I was not able to receive local channels (and this lasted for approximately 2 years). After my initial four months were up, I downgraded my package to the $39.99 package with all premium channels. And even with all the premium channels, I still ended up paying $30 less than Cox Cable. Naturally, I stayed with DirecTV. When I was able to receive local channels, DirecTV replaced my round dish with an oval one free of charge. I was very pleased with DirecTV. — — Three...

Unique says "Awesome Monitor" about Viewsonic VX2235wm 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor

I have this monitor but with the iPod dock instead (VX2245wm). I purchased this item about a year ago and have had no problems with color fading or dead pixels. The size of the screen is huge. The colors and clarity are far better than the Dell LCD I had been using for the past 3 years. I haven't had a chance to utilize the iPod dock so I cannot give that feature a fair review. — — I purchased this monitor because of the many attractive features. It has four USB ports, an eight-in-one media card reader, head phone jack, built-in speakers (but don't rely on these solely for entertainment), volume control knob, DVI/VGA connectivity, 5ms pixel response time and good resolution (1,680x1,050 pixels ). The overall look of the monitor is one of the best I've seen thus far (besides the new Sony monitors on the market). — — I have had no problems with the VX2245wm. Web surfing, word processing and DVD playback have been above...

Unique says "Newegg's Customer Service is A+" about NewEgg

When I was in the market to build my first pc, Newegg was the first place I went. Their prices are very competitive. I always take advantage of the free shipping offers as well as the mail-in-rebate offers. I have referred many people to this site who are also pleased with Newegg and continue to shop with them frequently. — — I've never had any problems placing orders with Newegg (except for billing address verification, but this was resolved almost immediately). I have ordered many items from them, including expensive items. Every time I place an order, it arrives the very next morning even though I do not pay for the expedited shipping. Customer service is so knowledgeable and very helpful. I have not spoken to a customer service representative who did not know what I was taking about, and they all spoke clear English. Did I mention they are located in the USA? These are all pluses in my book. — —...

Unique says "Didn't spend much on Christmas thanks to Mypoints.com" about MyPoints

There is nothing new I can add about Mypoints.com that hasn't already been said; so I'll just say that because I was on a tight budget this year for my Christmas shopping, thanks to Mypoints.com I have not had to spend much. — — Over the past year, I have accumulated enough points to order lots of gift cards, which have been coming in the mail sooner than I expected. I haven't calculated the exact total, but I believe that I have saved approximately $200 so far by shopping with the gift cards I redeemed on Mypoints.com. — — This is a very good program; however, I am not a fan of the survey e-mails I receive from them. It seems like it is impossible to receive the full credit offered for taking the surveys because I almost always do not qualify. But whatever, I just avoid these surveys and take advantage of the higher point offers if I can. — — PROS: — Ease of earning points. — Look and feel of newly designed...

Unique says "Management is Awesome!" about The Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport - Detroit, MI

I had the pleasure of staying at the Westin Detroit Metro Airport for 5 days during the summer. We had originally booked a traditional doubled-bedded room but upgraded to a double-bedded club-floor room when we were told it would be free of charge using the AAA rate. Plus, we would receive a $20 rebate just for booking the AAA rate. Happily, we accepted. — — The Westin Detroit Metro Airport is located directly in the airport which made it so convenient for us as our plane arrived at 10:00 p.m. I was disappointed with the front desk as they could not find my reservation at first, and when they did, they had us booked for a much higher rate (even though I called and confirmed our reservation that morning). Thankfully, I printed our confirmation the day we booked online AND one day before we arrived, proving that we did book for the AAA rate. Unfortunately, I had to speak with a manager to correct the situation, which didn't take long but...

Unique says "I'm not a rider, but Wild Hogs sure makes me wanna ride!" about Wild Hogs

WILD HOGS, BABY! — — Although I NEVER listen to the over-paid, ridiculous, "everything has to be Oscar worthy material" Hollywood critics, I wasn't sure what to expect with this movie; so I was skeptical about going to see it with my 14-year old son. Needless to say, I'm glad I chose to see it. We laughed from beginning to end. The cast, in my opinion, was superb -- they complimented each other well. John Travolta outdid himself. Martin Lawrence was his typical silly self. It was hard for me to imagine Tim Allen as a "biker boy" but he did a good job representing that persona. And, William Macy did a wonderful job playing the nerd who becomes Marisa Tomei's object of interest. Nerd and bodacious babe -- go figure! Ray Liotta -- well, if you know his work then you'd know he played his part to a "T." The movie is clearly not meant to be taken seriously, but it's definitely something to laugh at. — — The only...
