ShellieCarr says "The Office is the most clever show on TV" about The Office

The Office is such a funny show but it's not for everyone. I really love it - I love the characters, I love the acting, I think Steve Carrell is so funny and that I've worked for him before - so I really love this show. The writing is clever as all get out (I love it that the temp Ryan becomes the Regional District Manager) - let's face it, we've all worked with quirky characters in real life before so seeing quirky on TV is funny.

But it's not for everyone because not everyone gets the subtlety of the relationships in this show. If you like Friends (which is a very good show) or Seinfeld where all the relationships are exactly what you expect them to be then you might not find the nuance of The Office entertaining. I like it that there's an undertone of affection for Dwight even though he is the STRANGEST character and Jim and Pam are messing with him all the time.

It's a great show, but it's not for everyone!
...

ShellieCarr says "Roomy as a mini-van but WAY cuter" about Honda Pilot - 2007

OK, let's face it - a minivan is never "cute" or "stylish" or even "fun to drive" but it's practical because you can fit six kids in the back and all the stuff that goes along with kids. If I didn't have kids, I probably wouldn't buy a Honda Pilot, but I do have kids and I wanted a car that was sportier, cuter and more fun to drive then the minivan I had before and I am very pleased with my Honda Pilot.

It's not great on gas mileage, but it's easy for my children to climb into the back, the doors are easy for them to operate and they can work all the seatbelts in the back seats, even the middle seat- belts.

I really like the way the car is porportioned (I do not have the nav-system in the car, i have a seperate GPS), everything is in a logic place. My husband drives a different kind of car and I think it's not proportioned properly for me - but anyway, I really like the center console between the front seats (my seat and the passenger) and it was good thinking the way that is put together...
...

ShellieCarr says "I'll never be lost again! " about Garmin - Nuvi 360

I don't think I will ever be lost again now that I have a Garmin! I may get into a car accident because I am playing with it when I am driving and I do think the maps are limited, but I really like my new GPS unit. I can usually find things that I am looking for when I am looking for them, if not by typing the name of the place by looking for something else that is nearby.

I really like the screen, it's easy to see when I am driving, I mount it down low in my "ashtray" which isn't really an ashtray but whatever - you know what I mean - and I like it that I can touch the screen to learn more about the places that are there.

My hubby of course has a more sophisticated GPS because he has to have the more sophisticated thing - but I think this GPS is sophisticated enough for anyone.
...

ShellieCarr says "Dr. Oz makes it easy for everyone to understand!" about YOU on a Diet

I love the YOU books because Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen really make technical and complicated things easy to understand. I really like the YOU on a Diet book because it is very realistic and a very healthy approach to a challenge that everyone faces sometimes. I really like the illustrations in this book because they aren't intimidating or gross and I really like the messages that Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen are putting out there. I think this diet is "easy" to get on and very easy to stay one once your on it.

I listen to Dr. Oz on XM Radio and his radio show is WONDERFUL - even if I don't think the topic directly applies to me, I listen because it's interesting and he has really smart guests on his show!
...

ShellieCarr says "Thatsa Good Cuppa Joe! " about Keurig Coffee Maker - Ultra B50 1-Cup

I LOVE my Keurig coffee maker! It is an expensive coffee maker, BUT it is a quality machine that has lasted longer then any coffee maker I have ever had! Before I got my Keurig almost five years ago I would burn through a coffee maker each year, it didn't matter if it was a $20 Mr. Coffee or a $100 Cuisenart Grind and Brew, I killed it. But the Keurig has lasted me without a problem these five years and is still going strong.

I know that the coffee can seem expensive. I agree - but I try to be economical by stocking up when the boxes are on sale at Kohl's, Bed Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things - the best I can do is $7.99 for a box of 18 K-Cups, which I calculate to be the same as a bag of a similar quality coffee (STarbucks or Dunkin Donuts, whatever).

I love my Keurig - the coffee is good every time, it spits out right away, there's no coffee grounds mess to clean up. All I can say is AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Thatsa Good Cuppa Joe!
...

ShellieCarr says "A good book to purchase on sale" about Elizabeth Gilbert - Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India And Indonesia Books

It was a good book and a good book for a group of women to get together to discuss. I do not think the messages in the book are universal to all women or to all people though. For many women Elizabeth Gilbert's story may be inspiring, but I was not looking to be inspired - I was reading a book for a neighborhood book club and it was good - we had good discussion - and there are some great messages in the book. But India dragged on and on and on - and it was great once she got to the rooftop and learned the lessons there, but otherwise, it droned on like a metaphysical Groundhog Day.

I have great respect for the author for sharing such a personal story and appreciation for people who are dealing with depression, trying to find a happier path in life, struggling in a bad marriage, etc. But, I felt like Elizabeth Gilbert had a bad attitude sometimes in Italy -and there were times that I wanted to put the book down and not finish reading it because i was tired of her poor me attitude -...
...

ShellieCarr says "Willy's sets the standard for all other Burrito restaurants" about willy's - Atlanta, GA

Willy's on Howell Mill road defines Burrito restuarants and sets the standard for all of the other burrito restaurants. The food is always fresh, they make it the way I want it each time, the serving is more then adequate. They exceed my expectations every time. Their sauces are superior to all of the other places and I really like it that you can help yourself to as much sauce as you want. It's cheesy when other places only give you a small container of salsa per order. That's crap. No crap at Willy's - just good food, adequate portions and service with a smile. ...

ShellieCarr says "Mike's is EXCELLENT! " about Mikes Hard Light

Mike's Hard Light Lemondate and Light Cranberry Lemonade are super yummy! I have tried them both on a number of occassions and they were excellent each time. They go really well with salty snacks like chips and salsa. I would recommend drinking it cold right out of the bottle because why dirty a glass or water down this perfect beverage....
