Shell4pens says "Don't Waste your money on this unit!" about Maytag Neptune Washer

Maytag is usually good for quality products, as I have had no problems in the past with a top loading machine lasting 12 years + in fact that machine is still going strong after 19 years. — This machine was purchased without an extended service plan, big mistake! I wish I would of known at the time that this machine has had extensive problems with the main control board and the wax motor for the door locking system. It Appears to have several maintenance orders issued for this machine as to the high level of faulting out it is having. I had to have mine fixed not once, but twice in the last 3 years. that's a pretty hefty repair considering the board is about $250 - $300 in retail cost and the wax motor is only $30. To install by a reputable company it's going to cost you about $400 - $500 dollars. — — The unit seemed to work fine during the first year and a half then the problems started with the door lock system. I don't mind paying $1k for a front loading washer...
