SeniorWahine says "I got a great deal on airfare to the east coast from them" about Orbitz

This past spring (2007) I wanted to return to Pittsburgh from Hawaii to attend a retirement dinner then continue on to Hartford, CT to visit my daughter and grandkids. I checked several web sites but found that Orbitz was most user-friendly (especially related to additional stops - eg. Hartford) and had the best fare. In fact, I got a truly amazing fare - round trip Honolulu-Pittsburgh-Hartford-Honolulu - of $600. At that time I knew people paying that to the west coast from Honolulu! In addition, it was possible to cancel the whole trip if necessary by just paying Orbitz' 'fee', which was about $5 (actually I initially made a mistake in my departure date and panicked until I discovered their cancellation policy). Another interesting (at times annoying!!) feature was that they called to remind you of your flights. However, they called me in Hartford at 3 in the morning!! You should be fore-warned, however, that the 'class ' of ticket you get for such a low rate makes you......

SeniorWahine says "It's a great truck!" about Nissan Frontier - 2004

We retired to the Big Island of Hawaii from PA in 2003. We quickly discovered we needed a truck to haul trash to the transfer station, merchandise from Costco, etc. We also don't believe dogs should ride in a truck bed and thus wanted a 4-door pickup. We shopped around and checked Consumer Reports. The Nissan Frontier was highly rated and the Nissan dealer in Kailua-Kona was having a year-end sale. Although I don't like the 'bolts' used as trim on the fenders, I could live with that one bad feature. I also have a Corvette but prefer to drive the pickup because there are so many trucks on the road that being down low in a Corvette is quite unnerving. I love sitting up high with the 'big boys', so to speak....

SeniorWahine says "A dreadful cell phone - screen can't be read in bright light" about Nokia - Nokia 2610 Cell Phone

ATT is apparently changing to a 'new' system and is requiring everyone to acquire 'new' phones. Unfortunately, the newer cell phones are directed at people who want to e-mail, shop, and do everything but make calls. My old Nokia was incredibly simple and user-friendly. I live in Hawaii and the sun is always shining. This 'new' Nokia's screen is unreadable, even just riding in the car - to say nothing about on the beach. The phone's 'menu' consists of icons which are indecipherable - not that I care since I have no interest in using the phone except for making and receiving phone calls. I don't understand why these cell phone manufacturers don't realize that there are some people (more than they think!) who just want a phone that's a phone and make one available. I'd think it would be much cheaper for them, too. No games, no 'shopping mall', no e-mail, etc. Plus some of us prefer to read the menu - not try to figure out what's what with silly little icons. Additonally,......
