Screwedupspine says "A great computer for a non-technical person." about Apple iMac All-In-One 20" Desktop Computer

I bought the iMac INtel 20 inch about nine months ago. I have had several Mac products in the past, but this one is surely the best as they always seem to improve. I like that the unit takes up very little space as everything is built right in. The CD/DVD drives are right in the monitor, as is the hard drive. The unti comes with some really interesting stuff, such as music software (which I really have no use for) and widgets (mini programs) which allow you check certain information with the touch of a button on the mouse.

The best feature of Mac products is that they are very simple to use. Every program works similar and I find the best way to learn how to use a program is to just do it --- its actually much easier than reading a manual. The computer has a very quick startup. Another thing I find great is the lack of a need for anti-virus software since Macs don't seem very vulnerable. Every person I know that uses anti-virus software has trouble with it, such as slowing down the...

Screwedupspine says "A decent quality scanner at a great price." about Canon CanoScan CS4400F Flatbed Scanner

I love the Canon 4400f scanner. I've been using it for a few months and find the quality very good. I don't use many of the features on the scanner, such as scanning negatives, but for the simple uses I have I find it easy and effective. I like the fact that I can scan a multiple page document and have it stored on my hard disk as one document. On my previous scanner, a three page document would be saved as three separate files. The only negative comment I have would be the time it takes for the first page to scan. A message comes up on my computer screen telling me not to open the lid because the lamp is being adjusted. Nothing seems to be happening, so I guess its just a silent process --- not even the light comes on during this time. The additional pages scan more quickly. Overall I am quite satisfied with this...

Screwedupspine says "A piece of junk" about Sanyo - VWM-950 VCR

This VCR is a piece of junk, plain and simple. I generally purchase higher quality merchandise, but I had a gift card from Wal-Mart so I decided to purchase a cheap VCR as an extra unit. With cable TV I cannot watch one show while taping another on the same TV, so an extra VCR seemed like a good idea. The unit has two taping modes instead of the normal three. When using the four hour mode, the playback is not viewable. While still under the one year warranty, the unit began eating tapes, literally destroying them. I sent it back for warranty service and they replaced it with a refurbished unit. The new unit works no better than the original. I still have it hooked up, but have not used it in quite some time, as its really not worth the effort since I know what the quality of the tape will...

Screwedupspine says "A small but powerful camera" about Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera

I purchaed the Nikon L11 a few months ago and absolutely love it. The best part of the camera is the size, it is very small yet the screen is quite big compared to many other digital cameras. The camera has a variety of specialty settings which is good, but also bad in a way. Sometimes a more limited choice is a good idea. I often forget which setting is best to use in certain circumstances and have to pull out the manual for some tips. There is quite a bit to learn, so I find it a good idea to review the manual periodically. The quality of the pictures is quite good, but it can take some time and changes in the zoom level to get a green light, meaning the camera is in focus. If you snap the picture on a red light, you can bet it will be fuzzy. The price on the camera was great and overall, I am quite satisfied with my...

Screwedupspine says "A Simple to use phone" about Virgin Mobile - Shorty Cell Phone

The Shortie phone by Virgin Mobile is a great cell phone for someone who needs just that, a simple phone without all the bells and whistles. I use my cell phone only for emergencies, not to talk endlessly. This phone is simple to use and easy to program. The only downside is that some of the print has worn off the buttons, so this does make it a bit difficult to send a text message as I cannot see all the letters. But again, as a phone, it does the...
