Rowangrey says "Been a member for one year, not a single problem yet!" about Netflix

I love Netflix! My husband and I have had an account since Dec. '06 and have never had a single complaint. We both add movies to the queue, but we try to mix it up so one of us is not stuck watching a movie they don't want to see several discs in a row. Not once have we had to wait more than the usual 48 hour turnover for a movie, even a new release!
Here's the best part about Netflix for us: NO LATE FEES! We are a busy family, and we don't always find time to sit down and spend a leisurely evening watching a movie together. There have literally been times where we didn't get around to watching our Netflix rental until a good 2 or 3 weeks after it arrived. Now, that's NOT the norm... but it does occassionaly happen.

My husband has especially enjoyed renting movies that he hasn't seen since childhood, or finding movies that he's always wanted to watch, but never could find in the traditional rental stores. I really love being able to choose from a wide variety of foreign films......

Rowangrey says "Failed to satisfy my admittedly low expectations." about Bee Movie

Ugh. I couldn't even think of any Pros to include in my review. What happened to this movie?? I feel like it probably had a good start in the development phase, but something went horribly wrong before production began.

In the spirit of full disclosure, let me say that I am not, and have never been a fan of Jerry Seinfeld. I couldn't stand his show, nor his standup. I accepted this going into this movie, and set my expectations for enjoyment appropriately low. At least, I thought to myself, the other actors and script writers will be able to keep my attention and interest. Boy was I wrong.

Script: Here's where I think they started strong, then gave up. It's like they wrote one draft of the script, and called it done. Where are the jokes? Where are the fixes for the gaping plot holes? Did I fall asleep and not realize it? Admittedly, I chuckled a few times... but never once did I actually laugh. How is a bee yelling "Box kite!" supposed to be funny? How does......

Rowangrey says "Another home run from the makers of Shaun of the Dead!" about Hot Fuzz

I like films that stray from the Hollywood norm. Don't feed me the same old plot with different character names, please... I'm more intelligent than that (at least, I *hope* I am). I long for films that will come at me from left field, shake me around a bit, then leave me with a storyline that I can mull over for a few days after viewing. Hot Fuzz does all of these things.
I was a huge fan of Shaun of the Dead. When I heard the rumors of another Wright, Pegg, Frost film being created, I was cautiously optimistic. Could they knock my socks off again without using the same jokes from Shaun?
The answer was yes, a thousand time yes!
Hot Fuzz is hilarious in its OWN right. Wright and Pegg did not feel the need to rest on their laurels and just rehash jokes and gags from SOTD. Rather, they slap their audience around with a whole NEW set of funnies that just add to their already large fan base.
HF is not nearly as greusome as SOTD, understandably, but does deliver a few gross moments......

Rowangrey says "Rich colors, wide selection, good blending ability... but pricey" about MAC Eye Shadow

I'll keep this short and sweet. MAC shadows are very good quality and come in a huge array of colors. They blend well and have excellent coverage.
They are not, however, cheap. $14 for a single color is a little out of my comfort zone. There are several cheaper alternatives that have comparable blending and coverage, but not that have MAC's range of colors. If you don't mind mixing and matching brands, almost every MAC color can be duplicated more cheaply via other brands. If you prefer to stick to one brand and don't mind the price tag, MAC shadows simply cannot be beat.
...

Rowangrey says "I hate modern TV shows... except this one!" about Heroes

I can't say enough good things about Heroes! I really, really don't like the current state of television... "reality" shows make me sick, and I can't stand 90% of the "regular" shows out there. So trust me when I say that Heroes is NOT like the rest of the drivel on TV! Heroes is crammed full of interesting characters, exciting plot twists, fascinating powers, and great special effects.
Admittedly, I came into the show late. I resisted the suggestions of all of my friends that I watch Heroes when it first premiered. I was really loathe to watch another boring, under-acted, brainless show, and I was just SURE that Heroes was going to be another cookie-cutter waste of my time. Somehow, I stumbled on NBC's website and found that I could watch the whole first season in streaming video for free. After the first episode, I was a junkie. I watched the ENTIRE first season (excluding the season ender) on NBC.com in a matter of days, and immeditely set my Tivo up to record the last......

Rowangrey says "Sleek, nice big screen... but awkward to use and easy to break." about LG - Chocolate VX8500 Cell Phone

I got my Chocolate in August of '06, so it's one of the older ones. While the screen is large and plenty bright, the overall quality of the phone is poor. The screen is very easily scratched by just about anything. I managed to keep mine unmarred for about 6 months, which is WAY longer than anyone else I know of that has this same style of phone. The sliding mechanism can be troublesome, and woe to anyone who gets grit or dirt in the sliding part, as it is difficult to clear out.
I do a lot of texting, and this is NOT the phone for that. The shape of the open phone is not conducive to texting, as the center of balance of the unit will make it prone to falling out of your hand while you type. It's best to hold the phone in one hand, and type with the other... not fun.
I do like the look of the Chocoate, and it's small and lightweight enough to be easily carried in a pocket or small purse.
The touch wheel is not the greatest, and the newer models have a much nicer click wheel......
