Pogo.com is a game website were players can aquire tokken to which they can exchange for tickets in one of three raffles; $50 (daily), $500 (weekly)or $1,000 (monthly). if someone wins one of these raffles, they are contacted via email, there are tons of games to choose from; pop it, sweet tooth, and so fourth. so far my favorite game has to be sweet tooth; a puzzle game in which players have to match the same sweets together, there is also a blue bar at the bottom of the screen in which players need to fill before the timer runs out.

the only problem(s) I have with this website is the commericals, I want to play games not having to watch a thirty second commerical(s).

pogo users can suscribe to the club pogo, from what I gather it costs almost 20 dollars to suscribe. but you can play the dozens of club pogo games.

at certain times during gameplay the game will go into interludes, possible to give all partcipating players a break.

aside from the minor setbacks and not being able to win...

Trans Siberian Orchestra was founded by composer, gutarist Paul O'Neil in 1996, he asked his friends John Oliva, Rober Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli if they were interested in forming a band together.

the idea was to re create christmas songs in more of a rock opera fashion at first the idea didn't sit well, but as it turned out alot of people both old and young really like the music.

TSO uses a 60 piece live orchestra and a choir in all their concerts and albums. I think while the band was touring in 04' their lineup inlcuded (aside from the band) 14 vocalists, 14 musicians and 2 narrators.

since 96' the band had released a total of five studio albums the latest realese is a non christmas album (night castles).

the band's musical styles seems to incorporate; heavy metal, progressive rock, symphonic metal, and classical music.

Evil Dead: Regeneration was released in 2005 to the PS2, Xbox, and PC.

the game is a (what if) scenario and puts Ash and Co. in a alternate reality. In the game Ash is sent to a mental hospital (sunny meadows) after the events of evil dead and evil dead 2, while Ash is in his rubber room his doctor ( Reinhard) somehow has professor Knowby's diary and the book of the dead otherwise know as Necronomicon Ex-Mortis in his possession. the doctor wants to ascend into power, during which he unleashes the army of deadites into the unsuspecting world.

In the mean time Ash's lawyer (Sally) is searching for clues in order to help her client, but ends up being kidnapped. Ash is tasked with stopping Reinhard, the deadites and save Sally.

unlike he previous installments Ash is paried with a half human half deadite(Sam) voiced by Ted Raimi. turns out the Reinhard tried to do some experiments on poor Sam which turned him into a half deadite, what's interesting about Sam is that he's immortal. players...

Army of Darkness: Screwhead Addition

is the third installment in the evil dead series and picks up where the second movie ended. Ash (Bruce Campbell) is sent back in time, he winds up in medevil england and has to save the human race from the deadites, and find a way back to his own time.

unlike the other two installments this movie is more action based but has elements of comedy and horror.

the movie does a pretty good job bringing viewers up to speed, but isn't quite in synch with the previous movie. what I mean is towards the end of the second movie when ash was desperatly from being sucked in to the vortex, a small piece of his hair was gray. in this movie the gray was gone, also Ash was in the cabin with Professor Knowby's daughter Annie but was killed by Ash's possessed hand. since Ash and his car where sucked in the vortex why wasn't Annie's dead body? I mean she wasn't holding on to anything. I know I shouldn't concern myself with such trivial matters.

Amberian Dawn is another finnish symphonic power metal band. the band was founded by several members who happend to played together in another band called virtuocity but the band eventually split. while working on another band project Atheme One the members put out an ad searching for a classically trained female singer. eventually the found Heidi Parviainen (soubrette soprano) and former member of iconofear and after hearing a few samples it was decided that heidi was the vocalist the band was looking for and thus Amberian Dawn was formed.

some people may believe that Amberian Dawn was another Nightwish copycat since both bands are from finland and both have female vocalst (AD with heidi and Nightwish with former vocalist tarja). I doubt anyone would compaire AD with the current NW with anette.

anyhow to date Amberian Dawn has two albums and is currently working on a third album that is expected to be released in 2010.

Heidi's vocal ability is somewhat similar to tarja's except heidi's...

American Gladiators (1989-1996)

In most cases the original is always better and will always be better than any remake.

the original American Gladiators originally started out as a competietion that took place in a high school gym in Erie, PA. the competition was overseen by Dan Carr and John Ferraro who in turn sold the rights to Samuel Goldwyn Productions/MGM who expanded the format into what is now know as American Gladiators.

The main diffrence between the remake and the original is that the events from the original didn't have the pool of water. plus most of the events featured in the remake where taken from the british version called gladiators.

also the original gladiators weren't as over the top as the new gladiators, the acting from the remake AG is terrible. plus the original series had only two hosts not three and none of the previous hosts aren't over the top like hulk hogan.

Deadly Women (2005, 2009)

what began as a mini series, Discovery channel's Deadly Women is a show that focuses on female killers. first aired in 2005 as a three episode mini series, each of the three episodes contained four cases with a theme; Obsession, Greed and Revenge.

In 2009 the mini series became a televisionseries shown on investigation discovery channel, now each episode contains only three cases instead of four. like the mini series deadly women has a theme for each epsiode: forbidden love, born bad, and so fourth.

people will notice the cases featured are actual cases: Andrea Yates, Alieen Wuronos, and so fourth.

one case in particular still stands out is the sylivalikens case which was featured in the born bad episode. for those of you who are unfamilar with the case the liken sisters (syliva and jenny) are sent to live with gertude baniszweski and her seven children, during their stay the girls were beaten by gertude when their father's payment was late, but then gertude...

Velvet Assassin is a stealth /action video game inspired by real life WW2 secret agent/ sabotuer violette zsabo. players assume control of violette summer who is sent behind enemy lines without any support or backup. each stage in the game is violette's memories of the war, while she is lying in a hospital bed.

during the game violette can toggle between sneaking and non sneaking modes. also violette can use enemie uniforms as long as she is far enough away from the enemy

overall the enemie AI is very limited, usually running through their limited rounds like "clock work." once the player is spotted the enemies are somewhat tough to knock down and for some odd reason I keep having to restart the stage.

another problem I have with this game is not being able to shoot out lights, climb over barb wire. also violette will only use weapons either located in lockers or droped by dead enemies. I notice that I can also perform silent kills, sneaking behind an enemie and stabbing him in a particuarly...

bzzagent.com is a website allowing it's members to try new items that are often free. the only catch is that bzzagents should "bzz" others about the prodcut, once they recieved feed back the agent goes online to the offical website and fill out a bzzreport. once the bzzreport is viewed the agent will be notified via regualr email and informed if the report is good or bad.

good things will happen if the report is good; points towards overall agent rank, more opportunities to get more bzzcampagins, and points that members (agents) can use on mypoints.com for free gift cards.

it's fast and fun plus agents can try new products basically a "try before you buy". most campagins allow you to donate to a note worthy cause with points if you choose (which is cool).

the problem for most agents that it is hard to get a high ranking, most rewards are snatched up, it's hard to get picked for a campagin.

the thing is you have to keep checking your email address daily, and once you are invited...

Move aside "the flinstones" the simpsons have taken your title of "longest running animated series."

the simpsons started out as a animated short that was featured on the tracy ullman show. the simpsons soon developed into a half hour show which started on december 17,1989 and now the shows is in it's 21st season and continues to create episdoes.y

the show actually stoped being funny about 10 seasons ago, yes there is a laugh here and there but it this season doesn't quite capture the magic the former episodes had.

if it wasn't for homer simpson I wouldn't watch this show. his personality is pretty much the saving grace of the show, with his frequent bouts of stupidity, laziness and his explosive anger. I admit maggie, bart and marge have their moments but...

Clive Barker's Undying is a horror themed first person shooter set in 1923. the game is centered around patrick galloway and the covenant family and their family curse. the game begins with patrick on a boat recalling the events that had transpire during the war. it turns out that patrick is headings back to his homeland (Ireland) to lend assistance to his friend and former army buddy Jeremiah covenant who is slowly dying from a mysterious disease.

during the opening scene patrick metions he fled from Ireland, which is kinda suprsing since the player doesn't know any about him except he use to serve in the military (army) and now specializes in paranormal agent. once patrick arrives at the convenant estate, he meets with jeremiah who explains the reason why he requested partick's help.

when they where kids jeremiah and his four sibilings; ambrose, twins bethany and Aaron, and the youngest lizabeth. while playing through the estate the children come across a strange book in their father's...

formed in 1996 and led by gutarist michael amott and johan liiva (fomer lead vocalist) arch enemy is a melodic death metal band that combinds melody with aggression and technicality.

after recording three albums original vocalist johan was asked to leave the band, aparently johan wasn't dramatic enough to front the band. soon after in 2000 angela gossow a amateur German journalist and death metal vocalist soon replaced liiva. since the switch the band has achieved world wide fame.

Angela doesn't sound like the typical female vocalist since she uses growls as her primary vocal styling. she can give her male counterparts a "run for their money," she is also one of the few female vocalist in the metal genre to effectively use the growls.

Angela dresses downwards compared to other female vocalist, pefering people to admire her vocals and stage presence rather than her sex appeal.Angela is the "real" deal in my opinion and I think it's great they hired her because she is a talented vocalist...

the anime series is based on a 23 volume manga series written by Natsuki Takaya, the anime is centered around Tohru Honda a orphan girl who lives with the sohma clan. she soon learns the sohma's are possed by the animals of the chinese zodiac, when one member of the clan is embrace anyone of the opposite sex or come under stress they will turn into their animal forms.as the series continues Tohru learns of the hardships and hurts faced by the inflicted Sohmas, and through her own generous and loving nature, helps heal their emotional wounds.

I read somewhere that the anime series only covers the first eight volumes of the manga. which would leave some plot holes in the anime, like the relationship between tohru, yuki and kyo. according to the zodiac story the rat tricks the cat into missing the induction feast the cat would have been added to the zodiac. it's probably the reason why yuki and kyo don't get along with each other.

I believe it was around 02" when I first started listening to Nightwish, it was around that same time when I started looking at other bands that incoperate symphonic elements in their music. I found therion by looking up symphonic metal on Encyclopaedia Metallum, on the band's page it mentions therion started out as a death metal band before adding more symphonic elements. I believe it was in 95" when they official switched from death metal to what is now know as "symphonic metal". they are also considered one of the first bands to incoperate and popularized the genre, aside from Rhapsody of Fire, I forget the second band, and of course nightwish.

band is know as the the most adventurous metal band at present simply because the band uses diffrent types of music aside from symphonic metal.

Thrash Metal, Death/Doom, Melodic Death Metal, and other genres, which I think is awesome. therion is not afraid to try diffent genres in their music, that is why there is a variety of sound in each...

one would think after the disastrous street fighter(1994) and super mario bros.(1993) movies that hollywood would steer clear of making movies based of video games.

In 1995 another film based off a video game was created: mortal kombat, I figured it would be another flop that the movie won't have anything to do with the video game series.

The film features characters from the first two MK games and the story follows three earth relm warriors: liu kang, sonya blade and johnny cage. each character has a reason for particpating in the MK tournament: Liu to avenge his brother's death, Sonya to avenge her partner's death, and johnny to prove to the world he is not a fake. all three fighters where hand picked by rayden (god of thunder and protector of earth). similar to the video game(s) the earth relm fighters must protect earth by winning MK tournament 10 and prevent outworld from taking...

Starbucks Via Brew Instant Coffee

when I heard starbucks was holding a "taste challenge" I figured it would be to showcase their new line of coffee. not realizing that it was for their line of instant coffee and getting a free cup of coffee just for particpating, which my dad really liked. the challenge was simple: drink both samples then guess which one is the via, reguardless the particpants get a coupon for a dollar off the via packets and a coupon for a tall coffee. after tasting both samples I made my guess, between Y and X I guessed Y and my dad guess X. Of course he guessed correctly, afterwards we used of coupons for a free coffeeand my father was rather disapointed because he was under the impression that a tall was a large cup. it's free so what does it matter? while waiting in line I thought I would check the price of the via ready brew. it's $2.95 for a three pack and $9.95 for a pack of twelve, which is a little pricey for me.

Tamara (2005) - Jenna Dewan, Katie Stuart

The movie is centered around this girl named tamara who is constantly picked on by her peers. one night a group of friends decided to play a cruel joke on her, tamara ends up dead and the friends burry her thinking that would be the end of that. what the friends didn't know was that tamara was into witchcraft and placed a spell on her which caused her to be brought back to life as a sexy seductress planning her revenge.

the movie is considerd part of the horror genre dispite it really isn't that scary to begin with. the acting is terrible and sounds more like what you would see in a B or C grade horror film. the deaths are rather a cliche done by countless horror films particuarly stephen king's film/novel Carrie. If I didn't know any better I have to say this movie is trying to be a clone of Carrie dispite the only diffrence is carrie died at the end of the movie while tamara was killed near the begining.

I can't recommend this movie based of these...

Quaker Oatmeal Variety Pack

Awhile back I was watching the local news when it was mentioned that eating oatmeal will help with losing weight, so I purchased a box of quaker oatmeal variety pack. the next morning I got up and fixed myself a bowl of cinnamon and spice oatmeal, this was around 6-6:30am and it wasn't til 2 when I started feeling hungry again.

another thing I like about the variety pack is your getting three types of oatmeal for the price of one. aside from the cinnamon and spice, you are also getting apples and cinnamon and maple brown sugar.

I was checking the Quaker oat's website, checking to see the other flavors they have. I was shocked to learn that they have a flavor called vanilla cinnamon. I love vanilla!!!!! oh if only my local supermarket carries that flavor.

aside from that I would highly recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a tasty breakfast item that is also reasonablely priced.

La Femme Nikita -TV Series

For those who aren't fimilar with La Femme Nikita (series, french movie, or the americainzed film version) all three revolve around a young homeless woman who is accused of killing a police officer either influenced by drugs or "wrong place, wrong time". the woman is sent to prison for life, she is then recurited in to section one a elite, top-secret counterterrorist organization and soon learns that section has faked her death (suicide) and giving the alias: josephine. the orginaztion believed the young woman (nikita) is a cold and ruthless killer and has what it takes to become a deadly operative. unfortunatly for nikita is she refuses to comply by their rules she will be killed (canceled), once she is tranfered to section one she meets her bosses (Operations and Madeline) and her trainer who eventually becomes her secret lover (michael).

Formed in 1993 by Luca Turilli, Daniele Carbonera and Alessandro Staropoli. they wanted to form a power metal band integrated with classical elements. originally their band was know as "Thundercross" but later changed the name to rhapsody of fire.

ROF is considered one of the first bands to incoperate symphonic elements with heavy metal,thus creating a new genre of metal called "symphonic metal", more specifically the symphonic power metal genre. but are often over shadowed by the more popular bands from that genre, particularly Nightwish.

ROF's music has more of a heavier influence from classical music aside from nightwishes' tends use more rock oriented when building their songs. ROF's sounds more like a classical music piece rather than rock track (s).

personally I like both bands since they got me into the whole symphonic metal genre and allowed me to listen to a variety of metal bands. since 2008 ROF is on hold who knows how long. I wonder if this band will continue to make...
