I love cooking italian food, but trying to make it healthier can be a challenge. Using turkey sausage instead of pork really lowers the fat, but you can't...

Redtopt says "I can't imagine a world without books" about Barnes&Noble.com

I read, A LOT! My favorites? The list would be shorter of what I don't read! — B & N is my favorite bookstore, both online and f2f shopping. Combine that with the MyPoints rewards, and my being a bargain shopper really pays off. A recent online order came with an error, missing 2 books, with 2 I had not ordered. Five minutes later customer service had me sorted out, my books were on the way, and they sent me a label to return the others free of charge. She never questioned me, was incredible polite and pleasant, and turned what had started as a frustrating error into a positive experience in good quality customer service. — I have and will continue to shop with B & N! —...

I work full-time, and am also a Licensed Massage Therapist, so have a very busy schedule. Having a bank that allows me to come in late in the evening, or on weekends (yes - even on Sunday!) is an incredible benefit to me. — I live in Fort Lauderdale, they've branches up and down the SE Florida coast, from Homestead to Port St. Lucie, as well as in the Tampa/St. Pete area. I wish they were in central Florida, but with a debit card... — ...

Redtopt says "Excellent food, incredible service!" about California Pizza Kitchen - Fort Lauderdale, FL

Having recently moved into a nearby area, I've been to this same restaurant several times over the past few months, and kudos to the management and staff of this CPK!! — The food is always excellent, if you have a favorite, you can count on it always being consistently good. The service is always great, though I'll confess to a favorite server (Ronnie), you can depend on all service staff being well above par. — This particular restaurant is busy, so timing is important, and not just for wait time, but for parking. This particular site doesn't offer any excess parking spaces. On weeknights, arrive before 6:30, weekends try to be there by 6, or parking can be challenging. Because of this though, once you do park, the wait isn't usually very long, and they do offer a bar. — Overall, CPK is one of my favorites! —...

Redtopt says "Really good seafood at very fair prices" about CC's Fish Camp - Ft Lauderdale, FL

We discovered this restaurant as part of a coupon package sold to support the So Florida DARE program (is a "keep kids off drugs" campaign). — I grew up in St. Augustine, Florida, which has incredible fresh-from-the-water seafood and multiple choices for really good seafood restaurants. Unfortunately (surprisingly) most So Florida seafood restaurants are disappointing. As it was new, and we had a coupon making it very affordable, we decided to give it a try. — What a pleasant surprise. We shared an appetizer of Crab, Spinach & Artichoke Dip and Chips, which was absolutely delicious, and HUGE! For dinner I had a "Fried Fishermans Platter" of fried shrimp, clam strips, scallops & cod. When seeing cod on a Florida menu I've learned not to expect too much, as this is not a native fish and is obviously frozen. The batter on the shrimp, clams and scallops was very lightly done, the seafood cooked...

Redtopt says "Gourmet foods, delivered to your door in So FL, Chicago & NYC!!!" about Zone Diet Meal Delivery Service Balance For Life

Balance For Life is a Zone diet meal delivery service. I've used them down here in Fort Lauderdale (they service the tri-county area), and got deliveries for a short time in Chicago while visiting relatives (and I'm told they also are in New York City). After my visit, my sister-in-law decided to try it, and she loves it too!! — Is super convenient, the driver delivers my little black cooler bag 6 nights a week, it has everything I need to get me through the day, they even include utensils. And the foods are delicious, some days it's hard to believe sometimes that I'm eating "diet" food, losing weight and I'm eating things like peanut butter cookies, cheesecake and muffins. Each week I get a menu, with 2 items to pick for every meal or snack, so I can even avoid things I don't like. I'm on the go a lot so the wraps for lunch are great! But the dinners really surprised me the most, meals like would be found in a fine dining restaurant, things like seared scallops, beef...
