I have recently tried the almond croissants and they are to die for. — — If you are a torte person, they have a ton of them for around $2.50 each so, you could get a few to share. My friend's birthday was Sun and I got her 4 to try. She thought... the black forest torte and the dark chocolate torte were her favorites. The chocolate chip torte was third and the raspberry whipped cream came in a close 4th. — — My favorite thing is the Strawberry Napoleon - can't beat it for under $4! — — Their whole cakes seem a bit pricey but, if you order groceries from Peapod  they have a few House of Fine Chocolates cakes at a much better price and just as yummy! — — The only reason I gave four stars is that they only accept cash... yes there are cash station machines... I only eat red meat every couple of months so I guess this will be a red meat meal! — — So, we went last Thurs around 1:30 thinking we could beat the "lunch rush" - ha, nope, we were wrong - we got the last available table! — — I had the half sliced brisket plate with coleslaw and baked beans - everyting was seriously great! The brisket wasn't doused with BBQ it was just enough to flavor it and not drip down your arm like some places. Hubbie had brisket platter with fries and beans and added on ribs. He loved the brisket but, is still raving about the ribs - he will be geting just ribs next time we go! — — Smoque had a line out the door by the time we were done with our lunch! I first found out about Evanston Band and Orchestra when I was 8 years old and the band program had just started at my grade school. Over the years I have always gone back for any instrument repair needs, frequently referring students, friends and family. In 1983 I bought a top of the line Yamaha Flute here and Evanston Band oad Orchestra have been the only people to repair/repad the instrument - it is as good as the day I bought it from them! The only way they could get better is to be Lakeview Band and Orchestra so that I don't have to keep driving back and forth to Evanston to get work done - LOL!! Keep up the good work... My favorite by far, is the Red Velvet cupcake - this is some of the best frosting I have ever tasted! I have to confess, Cupcakes is the only cupcake shop I have been to however, I feel no need to try out others. The staff is always pleasant and helpful....
