OER says "If you did not use conditioner, Take Charge can make you look ok" about Frizz Ease Take Charge Curl-Boosting Moose Travel Size

Yes, this is one item you need to put in your travel toilettries, because with it you can always make yourself look tolerable in order to leave the room. Even you happen to come upon the unfortunate occasion when you do not have shampoo and conditioner, this is the item that can still save the day. I apply it with my hair still humid and comb it relataively fast. If you take too long the mousse will dry and you won't be able to comb it. But if you comb it fast, there's no pain from tangled hair and you can manage a tolerable do.

This 2 oz. bottle spray canisster I'm looking at is quite easy to store. It will take up very little space in one's bag. The price for this product is also inexpensive and will offer good value to the budget conscious traveler. This particular mousse is the Curly, one but it also comes in Straight. They both work well to control freeze and making combing easier. You could loose your investment if the lilac cap comes off in your bag because the plasti white dispenser...
...

OER says "Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Travel Size is in my budget." about Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner

As you know many of the hotels are not providing the traveler with conditioner. Better places say the guests' hair is sacred and the bring their own top of the line. Cheaper hojos claim they can't foot the bill. Either way there you are with your toothbrush, a ton of papers, a chang of clothes and in desperate need of a shower. You continue with the plan and take that shower, wash that hair and find that you look like... well your hair is standing up, all tangled up, and non too attractive. This has happened to many of us. After it happens one always remembers where the closest outlet of the travel size conditioner can be purchased and when one returns one goes there first.

In the travel size category you'll find only Pantene, Tres Somes, and Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. I was a Pantene user but have come to like Herbal Essences. It works as well as the other one for me. It has a pleasant fragrance and an attractive package. And best of all it does a good job. I just used it and was...
...

OER says "Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Travel Size is in the budget." about Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo

If one stays in hotels often these days, one sees the difference between days of old and now, readily. Many places do not provide conditioner but some not even shampoo. Lucky is the traveler than can go to the nearest outlet for such things and purchase them. This coud be an indispensable activity during your stay, washing your hair. You often can get average size bottles that will cause you to waste $3 or $4 on these items, making your stay much more expensive. All these things add up, right? When they put you in a room with micro and fridge, you save money. When they give you tissues, you save money, etc. Likewise when they don't, you spend money.

Therefore, this shampoo has only two rivals on the market, Pantene, and Tress. They can also be purchased for around $1 in travel size. Of the three, I don't know which I like best. The one we are reviewing presently would be considered least expensive... and I have purchased this one on clearance at Office Depot for 30 cents a bottle. Usually...
...

OER says "You just clip it to your bag and go." about Totes - Just Clip by Totes

This little umbrella was a great acquisition I made at the Walgreen's clearance counter for $6. It easily costs $12 and it looks like rain, so let me purchase both the red and blue one they have left. I said to myself. I then started wondering if that was not too many umbrellas in a week I had purchased and took only the blue one. That was a mistake for this has turned out to be a noteworthy umbrella for my daughter and I.

This umbrella is meant to be used with a backpack or such bag. It is a regular small folding umbrella with a wide wrap around band, like so many Totes manufactures. It works well in average wind and provides good coverage, it's a 42'. But the best thing about this little umbrella is it's cover. This is no ordinary cover. This cover is ample for the closed umbrella, not tight. Only the bottom is the usual umbrella fabric material. Most of the rest is made of a nylon mesh that allows the umbrella to dry quite rapidly when you place the wet umbrella back in the cover. And...
...

This new Virgin phone does work well as a phone, as our now lost Wild Card did. However, for the web, this phone, running on the fastest Sprint network is a joy. Subscribing to dozens of feeds through Google Reader is child's play. In fact the entire Google set of enhancements can easily be used.

We haven't sampled various interesting features like the GPS, since we are not driving. However, everything seems to work well. Installing the Opera mini was easy but not as noticeable an advantage in this phone. With the economical price for data, the memory card, and Bluetooth, this new phone is a great asset regardless of what you are interested in.

The phone also has an mp3 player with dedicated player buttons right by the speaker, which make it much easier to use. Another great feature is that it remains charged for longer periods of time if not in use.

The phone does take a slightly longer time to connect and present the dialing screen when not slid open, but this is a problem I have with...
...

OER says "I want to thank the Red Roof Inn for free night certificates." about Red Roof Inn - West Palm Beach, FL

And you too could be thanking this hotel chain for free night certificates. I just made two reservations for two days stays to get just that, two free night certificates. I was most pleasantly surprised when I reviewed my mail last month and found such an item. I did not know it could be so easy. Reward programs always put you through the ringer to get the free night, but this chain sends you the certificate without requiring that you do anything, and that is great.

The hotel itself is not bad. This particular one by Metro Center, is much nicer than the one in Ft. Lauderdale but not as nice as the one in Miami, where they have two coffee machines that always work, and besides a big coffee dispenser with non stop coffee. Indeed, this is the place for coffee consumers. This hotel is very stylish and well managed, though used. It is not a new place. I stayed in the Metro Center area 5 years ago, at the Marriott Courtyard across the street, for $49. Quite a bargain I found on the Internet....
...

OER says "Jaon's Deli, home of the Muffaletta and free ice cream." about Jason's Deli, Wellington - Wellington, FL

Immediately after a medium size hurricane hit the Ft. Lauderdale area, my daughter and I, got in our car and drove away, fearing the aftermath of the storm. We lost mostly our mail since the building where we lived lost their mailboxes. They stored everyone's together and after it grew too large for easy management, they threw it all in the garbage. We tried to stay in the first large city we came to when we reached Georgia, Augusta. However, when we drove around the first inexpensive hotel, we came to, my daughter started experiencing the same strange chest pains and other symptoms. She decided to continue driving. Eventually we came to Alpharetta, Ga., where we stayed in various inexpensive hotels for a period of three months. My daughter got a job for the holidays, two of the three months, at the Discovery store, where she merrily demonstrated all of the mechanical toys on sale.

It was then that we met this Jason fellow with the deli. ...And it was very good. We went to Jason's Deli...
...

What a pleasure it has been to receive our free night certificate without having to request it. It was just waiting for us along with the other mail. We did not call, email, write or phone for it. That was unusual. We wondered where to use it. We have been to the two other hotels in the area that belong to this chain and were postponing a visit to either for personal reasons. To our surprise, we were able to get a room at the Red Roof Inn, Miami Airport, the previous night. Another first! We were not given the run around usually encountered when using rewards certificates. The reservation process and check in were totally painless.

Upon check in we were given as requested, an all inclusive King Room. I received a T-Mobile day pass. along with the key. The room was spotless. The halls have a pleasant aroma. We arrived in the early morning hours, in the free shuttle from the airport. The clerk advised us that the only room of the type reserved available was an accessible room. We don't need...
...

My how the Pollo Tropical has evolved! If you don't remember this chain only offered the barbecue chicken, rice and beans a few sides. Now the patrons enjoy a variety of offerings, including chops, pulled pork, seafood, Caribbean chicken soup, Tropichills... Beer! Everything! And this is a great location. If you go to the location in Coral Gables, you'll have a terrible time parking. But here there is ample parking. One thing that struck me while I had lunch there yesterday, is how varied the patrons were at this location. It was full to the brim and everyone was different. There was a young executive, and well dressed mature female, an American mother with three little ones, three corse construction workers, a husband and wife conducting business,.. Every type, every ethnic group....

The food was very good. This location has great seasoning and is well managed. I had the quarter chickien with the two sides, "Yellow Rice With Vegetables" and Yucca. This cost me $4.19. It is served with a...
...

I patronize various locations of this chain on a regular basis. I was pleasantly surprised upon visiting this particular location, where the old, decrepit pollo fast food restaurant was. How sweet it is! What a beautiful Starbucks! It's just perfect... It has ample parking, outdoor seating, the full menu offered by this chain. It is well managed. The personnel is pleasant. They have probably more than 10 different lunch offerings... The Palm Beach Airport Location only carries the Turkey Sandwhich. They sell all of them. The Orlando Airport location carries only the Turkey Sandwhich, The Orlando Airport location is large and it is the only eatery that stays open all night in that gigantic complex. I wonder why that is. Lots of people eat at the same place every day. Just with the people who work there, there's a need for greater variety.

This new Starbucs in the SW, is an interesting place to watch. It is patronized by both Americans and Hispanics, who are the largest population in the area....
...

This is a different place. I did not like it. I am not modern like my daughter who took me there. But after she explained everything, I thought it deserved a good review. I kept yearning for Red Lobster throughout the whole lunch. We shared Fettucini Alfredo for a light lunch at the Florida Mall. I kept thinking of the Alfredo that I had at the Red Lobster with all the shrimp in it. I have always loved Red Lobster Restaurants. But I did see things at Buca di Beppo that I had never seen. We used to live a few blocks away from the one in Lauderdale, but never went because I thought it was expensive. This time my daughter pointed out to me that the the small portions are supposed to be for at least two people or three having other food. In reality, the prices are quite reasonable. In fact this should have been a restaurant high on our list, since we are always sharing our orders, because they are too large and we are small with small appetites.

As soon as we arrived the hostess asked us if...
...

OER says "Amtrak's "All Florida Pass" is the best value in travel." about Amtrak - train travel

I was somewhat skeptical when my daughter told me she was buying an "All Florida Pass" for the Amtrak trains. She said that one could use it any time to go anywhere without restrictions of any kind. One could also request sleeping accomodations when one boarded, She said that we did not have to make reservations ever. All we had to do was turn up at the station just before the train arrived and get on the train. All of this for a whole year, and only for $250 per person. I thought it was another of my daughters pie in the sky schemes. But she did turn up with the two $250 "All Florida Passes" and we have now used the passes a number of times. It was just like she said. One has total flexibility. On can even change one's mind regarding destination while on the train, and go further or closer.

The Amtrak trains in Florida, unfortunately are not as nice as in other parts of the country, but they get you to your destination in a tolerable manner.
OER says "Motorola C290 on Boost lets me know where you and I are at." about Motorola - C290 Cell Phone

Boost Mobile currenly offers two phones. I purchased the Motorola C290 for $99 six months ago. The phone has been seen on sale for $89 on occasion. For the most part it costs $99 at most locations. I have never had the obvious local competitor's service, Metro PCS. When I purchased my phone the price of phones and plans were comparable. I decided on Boost Mobile because I liked its image better. I did feel a little trepidation on purchasing a $100 phone, but I'm very happy with the phone and service.

I pay $40 per month, a bargain compared to the charges I accrued on the "pay as you go" phone I had before. With this one, I call everywhere, as much as I like. One time we went to an out of the way area where I had to pay extra. It just did not allow me to call unless I deposited more money. And that was swell, for I did not loose the use of my phone. Up to date the service has been reliable. I am on a budget and do not use any of the frills. My phone has a button for automatic Internet access....
...
