Nikro says "Great console for the 1st time gamer--good bye pacifier-- YES!" about Nintendo - DS Lite Console

This is a review about a toddler and Nintendo DS Lite — We have been trying to think of a "easy" way to get our daughter to give up the pacifier and as all parents know its a very difficult and traumatic habit to break. — My step daughter (9) was here for a visit and brought her Nintendo DS Lite. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter fell in love with it. Although she couldnt play any game my step daughter had, she played a long time with the stylus and screen. — We started talking to her about giving up her pacifier and surprisingly she agreed to give it up if we purchased her a Nintendo DS Lite just like her sister's. The binky fairy would take her binkies and in return she could get a present. — Off to the store we went and allowed her to pick from 3 different colors. Of course, pink won. We purchased her a game for toddlers age 3-5 (check my review) and off we went. — The game is a sure fire hit. She can turn it on and off, pull the stylus out and replace...

Nikro says "Craving Italian? Drive past Olive Garden. " about Chianti Italian Restaurant - Conyers, GA

We used my prize for the Simple Thanks award (Restaurant.com) to dine at Chianti Italian Restaurant Conyers, Georgia. — At first we were highly skeptical. It's located in a strip mall, the windows are covered and there is a sign made with sticker letters on the door. Inside, the 70's lounge feel and dark colors would not impress Gordon Ramsey! The clientele seemed to be an older crowd, but we found out why and I will explain later in the review. — We were greeted quickly by a man who we could tell was of Italian descent and were seated immediately. The menu selection was impressive. Not knowing what to expect we ordered. I ordered the Linguine Alle Vongole in white clam sauce, my husband the same as I and our daughter ordered the lasagna. — We were given our drinks with a basket of garlic buttered bread and an Italian salad filled with beets, onions and chick peas. The bread was gone quickly! I was the only one who ate the salad and it was wonderful. At...

Nikro says "EDITED REVIEW: Broken after one day" about Parents Microphone

EDIT On Review: — After one day this microphone is broken and yes, we changed the batteries. — About the Product — Parents toys sold at Target are economical, always educational and my child doesn't have one toy in the line that she hasn't played with over and over. This particular toy I am reviewing is the Parents Sing Along Microphone. — Why We Like It — The microphone is a blast! You can record your own voice and play it back--now there is a hit. Not just for our 2 1/2 year old but the 9 year old too. We had to time limit their turns they were both having so much fun! My husband and I played with it too and the whole family had a recorded sing along. It got pretty silly around here! The price of these toys is always right. This particular toy, the microphone was around 11.00. — Pros —...

Our views toward vehicle ownership: — We are a family who pays off our vehicles, chills on a car payment for at least 6 months and never trades them in. We did purchase the no-frills model and I wish we had gotten a few upgrades, but that was before we had children. We have over 100,000 miles on it and although we are thinking of purchasing a car we will keep the Xterra for grocery trips around town. — Our experience with our 2002 Nissan Xterra: — For the most part our Xterra has been outstanding. (I should knock on wood) We haul our dogs to the park, can put the seats down for extra room for larger purchases and because of the no frills package don't worry too much if the kids make messes inside as the fabric seats and the carpeting are very easy to steam clean. I would like air conditioning vents in the back like the others stated, but once again, we bought this car before we had a child and didn't give that a thought at the time of...

It took me a long time and a few tries to get into Pinecone, but now that I am here, I am enjoying it. Where else allows you to try products and get paid? It's nothing to make a living on, but it's as fun as it gets. — The surveys are not long or time consuming and the products are always geared toward a profile you submit. — Keep in mind you must be hush-hush about the products you are testing--even on message boards.
My step daughter who is 9 flies in to Atlanta 2 to 3 times a year. We have tried all the airlines who come into Hartsfield Jackson. The only airline we will use now is AirTran. They are kind, conscience and the most important--my step daughter is comfortable flying with them. — They are the lest expensive carrier by far (plan ahead) and their unaccompanied minor fee is the least expensive of any carrier. They will allow the whole family to go to the gate to greet the passenger where as Delta would only allow one parent to go to meet them. — ...

Nikro says "Facebook for the older crowd" about Facebook

I have tried My Space, but found it to be a little "young" for me. I now have a Facebook page and am enjoying finding old friends and co workers. It's a great way to keep in touch with pictures, and blogging about what is going on in your life. I have found numerous people I have lost contact with in the past 10 years and am having a blast finding out what is going on with them and seeing pictures of their families. I play Scrabble on Facebook with those in my friends list or even with people I don't know. I am not into all the quizzes or "hugging" applications, but I like the aspect that the pages are kept simple and clear. None of that obnoxious page formats like MySpace. I especially like the privacy features they provide. You can allow your picture albums to be publicly accessible or available only to friends which is great if you are posting current pictures of your children. — The only negative aspect I find is that people make their pages too busy with...

Dr. Lisa Chambers from Locust Grove Vet Express will be forever our veterinarian. We had to put our dog down and she was caring and patient. She was wonderful with the kids. She told them exactly what to expect during this difficult time and elevated a lot of the stress of the situation. — Every time we take a pet to this office we get in quickly (no appointment needed) and each time we leave feeling good about our pets care and surpringly are not broke. She prices fairly and until finding her clinic, we have always felt a little ripped off with the care our pets had been provided. — She is in the process of building an emergency vet clinic in Henry County which is much needed in this part of the city as the closest one is in Fayetteville, GA. — ...

This is one of the better survey sites. In the beginning it takes awhile to gain points for cash and prizes, but the longer you are a member, log in and take the surveys they offer the more high point and product testings you are offered. — The key is to stick with it!
This isn't only about my BJ's in my local area, but about the company as a whole. Personally I think one wholesale club is not much different from another except for one thing...BJ's accepts manufacturer coupons. Since you are always buying more than the requirement on the coupon, every coupon is accepted. I always purchase my paper supplies, laundry items, and cat litter at BJ's...those are the few things that I usually run out of unexpectedly, so it's better for me to get a lot at one time. — Our local BJ's has very competitive fuel prices...there is almost always a line at the pumps. —...

Highlights Hidden Picture Playground is a club from Highlights magazine for children. It is geared toward 3-5 year olds. — I can't tell you how much fun my 37 month old has gotten from one book! There are stickers to place on hidden pictures, coloring pages, word games, and much more. We use them at home, at her brother's baseball game or to take to play with grandma or gram pa. I have found that it is a great relaxation/quiet time/bed time relaxation tool. — She is too young to the hidden picture and word games without assistance, but I definitely see that she is learning with each new book that arrives. — Highlights has the subscription set up so you can schedule delivery frequency. We are in the 8 week schedule and gets older we may be changing that to 6 week shipments.
Tracfone has insanely poor customer service. They can not do simple tasks, put you on hold incessantly, and do not speak legible English. — I have been shipped 4 phones. We have spent countless hours on the phone just trying to receive a phone that worked (two phones didn't work out of the box and one quit after 2 weeks, the newest works--so far) and to each phone activated due to technical issues. I had to correct the problems on their end with my ideas. — They are pulling their customer service reps from the bottom of the barrel. I would not recommend this company for prepaid cell phone service unless you enjoy wretched customer service. As soon as my current minutes are done I will be giving my business to another prepaid company. — If you decide to go with Tracfone---all I can say is I hope you never have to call and interact with customer service and if you do---I wish you "good...

I wont go into a whole lot of detail, but the Wii Fit is wonderful! I have lost 5 pounds since starting the program and feel wonderful. Our 2 1/2 year old can do some of the balance games and loves to watch mommy hula hoop, so I disagree it is not for young children, as they will grow into it after some practise. — As far as the self conscience kids if they are overweight--- the best thing would be for them to start out with the exercises and not do a body test right away. That comes into supervision of all video games--as parents we need to think about how our children feel about their body and have knowledge about allowing them do something that may make them feel badly. However, we have a greater obligation to make sure they are getting adequate exercise and are eating right. Apparently supervision of eating habits has not been provided by the parents, so they whine about the Wii Fit making their children self conscience? --it's time to start paying attention! ...
