CyndiA says "Sea Best Tilapia - healthy and does not taste fishy." about Sea Best Tilapia Fillets

We are trying to eat healthier and especially like tilapia, because it does not taste fishy like some fish. There are several brands I buy, but I like Sea Best which comes in a one pound bag with each fish fillet individually wrapped. I can cook up one fish fillet or the whole bag, and the fish all stays fresh.

There are six fillets per bag or, at least, the bags I've bought have had six. The sizes are small, and the bag says it's 4 servings. So, I guess they figure on everyone eating one and one half piece of small tilapia fillet. That seems rather odd - but well . . . OK. They are small enough that my son actually needs 4 to fill up.

Tilapia is healthy and has the good fish oil, and this is straight up fish and not breaded or coated with anything. And, it comes it at under 100 calories per serving, but as I mentioned, the fillets are small.

We quick pan fry the tilapia or broil it, but my son likes it's baked with cheese and butter which is fabulous - but that kind of sucks the "healthy"...
...

Bryan-Carey says "Resolve Eliminates Many Carpet Stains in Minutes" about resolve Carpet Cleaner

Carpets are bound to stain at some point. Even when the utmost care is exercised and pets are kept out of the house, accidents are bound to occur and when they do, I reach for Resolve Triple Action Carpet Stain Remover, a liquid carpet cleaner.

Carpet Cleaner Commentary:

Resolve Triple Action Carpet Stain Remover is manufactured for the purpose of cleaning small stains on most types of carpets. This carpet cleaner is liquid and offers a pleasant, citrus like scent. A few pumps of the trigger sprayer are all it takes to penetrate stains and break them apart. This product can be used to clean common food and beverage stains as well as ink, oil, pet stains, dirt, and more.

My home includes only a limited amount of carpet, in the bedrooms, game room, and hallways. However, all of the carpet in my home is light in color and thus prone to show any stain, however small. Add to this the fact that we have two little girls and two dogs and you have all the ingredients for stained carpeting. When...
...

this2shallpass19 says "This soy-based candle smells amazing and burns a long time!" about For Every Body Holiday Memories Sugar Cookie 22-oz jar candle

While shopping at my second favorite store, Ross, I came across a deal that seemed too good to be true - For Every Body Holiday Memories Sugar Cookie Candle, which is a 22 ounce, soy-based jarred candle for only $4.99. Anyone who buys candles knows one, how expensive soy-based candles are and two, that 22 ounce candles of any variety usually cost a lot more than five dollars. Soy-based candles last longer and burn cleaner, so it was a real bargain.

I didn't expect much from this candle simply because it was so inexpensive. Lucky for me, this candle is absolutely perfect AND only $4.99! I have been burning this candle for a while now and can barely see an indentation of burned wax. I can tell this candle is going to last for a very long time. Besides how long-lasting this candle is, the best thing about it is the delicious Sugar Cookie scent. The scent is nice and strong and permeates the air nicely. It a wonderful combination of butter, sugar, crust and vanilla. If you enjoy...
...

PattyTherre says " I found a new favorite BBW scent. White Citrus is delicious!" about Bath and Body Works White Citrus Fragrance Mist

Quick View: Bath & Body Works had a buy 3 get 3 free sale on many of its signature scents and I indulged...a great deal. I bought several scents I never tried before, buying the mists, creams, shower gels and some body butters. By far, my favorite scent that I have tried is White Citrus. It's light, fresh, and exactly what I look for in a scent. Amazing!

My Take on Bath and Body Works White Citrus Fragrance Mist

This fragrance mist comes in a clear eight ounce plastic spray bottle. It has just the words "White Citrus" on it. Simplicity at its finest. The mist is intended to be sprayed all over and is very light. They have an Eau de Toilette which I ordered that is heavier.

White Citrus is described as:

* Fragrance Top Notes: Lemon Zest, Sparkling Grapefruit NP, Juicy Tangerine
* Fragrance Mid Notes: Mandarin NP, Ginger Flower, Waterlily, Apricot Nectar, Lily of the Valley, Freesia
* Fragrance Base Notes: Clean Woods, Sheer Musk (Captive)

Meri says "Whoa! Foam overload-" about Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste

I have used Aquafresh Extreme Clean toothpaste for a couple of years now. I like the way it makes my teeth feel after brushing. When I saw commercials for the Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste I thought it was a no-brainer. The foaming concept made sense; that being that the foam would whoosh up into small crevices, nooks and crannies, cleaning where no toothpaste had gone before.

The toothpaste comes in a can that dispenses the toothpaste through a pumping system. When pumped, it looks like normal gel toothpaste. Start to brush and the fun begins. The once tame toothpaste starts to foam. The more you brush, the more foam grows in your mouth. It is almost like it is alive- The toothpaste is supposed to foam up and work its way into hidden areas in your mouth, claiming it cleans better than ordinary toothpaste and can remove 3X more bacteria while it is doing its thing. Oh, did I mention it is supposed to whiten teeth as well?

Bottomline:

The Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste does foam up as...
...

njchicaa says "If you like cooking and/or the Food Network, buy this magazine!" about Food Network Magazine

I'm not the best cook in the world, but I've been buying cookbooks over the years and trying to make new appetizers and dinners. I've gone from the greenest, most clueless person in the kitchen to someone who can whip up fairly impressive meals given enough notice. I recently discovered the Food Network and have become addicted to watching several hours of their programming each evening. When I saw that there was a Food Network Magazine, I decided to pay the full news-stand price and check it out.

Unlike other most other magazines, Food Network Magazine focuses on cooking. They feature new trends, quick tips, fresh ideas for using ingredients or updating dishes, Food Network stars at home/giving parties, and many new recipes and meal ideas. I used to really like Martha Stewart Living for the cooking information but over the years the focus has changed and now includes makeup spotlights, wine lessons, health information, etc. I don't want to read a magazine for health or makeup...
...

Jo says "Arranged: a story of an Orthodox Jew and a Muslim" about Arranged

Arranged is an amazing movie. It is an independent film which runs 90 minutes and is not rated; however, it is suitable for all ages but just because of the topic I would rate it PG-13. Having said that, Arranged is a wonderful teachable moment for you and your children.

Two young teachers who are unlikely friends become the best of friends in this story of friendship, loyalty, duty, and tradition. Rochel, played by Zoe Lister-Jones, is an Orthodox Jew. Nasira, played by Francis Benhamou, is Muslim. They both seem out of place in the school in which they teach and the principal does nothing to encourage their cultural diversity.

Arranged is a tale of two families both of whom do not waiver from their faiths. Both families are adamant about arranged marriages. Both young women struggle with how they fit into the modern world though one struggles more. It is interesting to note that the one who struggles more is the one whose parents will not let the other young woman in their house!

Jo says "A must see movie: What's Eating Gilbert Grape" about What's Eating Gilbert Grape

An oldie but greatie is the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape which I recently saw. It was made in 1993 and earned Leonardo DiCaprio his first Academy Award nomination.

The film is set in a rural town in Iowa where the terrific actor, Johnny Depp, playing Gilbert Grape, is caring for Arnie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Arnie is challenged mentally and a handful.

It seems that Depp cares for everyone but has forgotten himself.

His morbidly obese mom, Bonnie (played by Darlene Cates), was once a pretty woman but has done little except eat since dad's death.

All the chores and cooking go to sisters, Amy (Laura Harrington) and Ellen (Mary Kate Schellhardt).

The love and caring between the brothers is wonderful to watch. The line "nobody touches Arnie" is heard through out the movie.

Another character, the married Betty Carver played by Mary Steenburgen, is having an affair with Gilbert.

Finally Becky, played by Juliette Lewis, comes into the picture and she, among other things, changes the familiy's...
...

pitcherday says "How do you screw up raw vegetables?" about Okoboji Grill - Ames, IA

I got a restaurant.com gift card for $10. I had heard good things about the Okoboji Grill in Ames, IA, so I decided to use it there.

I went in on a Saturday night about 6pm. Their special was prime rib. My husband loves prime rib which is why we were excited to be able to use a gift card for it. My husband ordered the prime rib special (which included a choice of potato and piece of garlic bread), and a dinner salad with Ranch Dressing. I ordered the Gyro Sandwich (it's beef, not lamb) with the "rabbit side" instead of fries. The rabbit side is raw vegetables (baby carrots, cucumber slices, broccoli, and celery) with a side of Ranch Dressing to dip them in. I also got a cup of the vegetable meatball soup.

The salad was fine. The soup was average. It tasted (and looked) like canned vegetable soup with prepackaged meatballs cut in half in it. It was fine. Then we got our main courses.

That prime rib looked nasty. It was brown. Brown like boiled meat, or the color beef turns when it goes bad...
...

As a Bzz Agent I was able to receive a couple of samples of a new body wash from Softsoap. Though I’m not normally a body wash kind of person I thought “what the heck I’ll try it.” So in my package came a sample of Softsoap Nutri Serum Restoring Vitamin E Body Wash in a cute mini-body wash bottle. After trying the Nutri Serum Moisture Retaining Body Wash, I wasn’t even going to try the Vitamin E version, but I figured to be fair I would check it out. Plus knowing that Vitamin E is good for the skin, I was hoping it would be of a little assistance to my ever increasing belly.

So opening up the green labeled bottle of body wash this time, I could definitely smell something more than the Softsoap scent that dominated the Moisture version. It was some sort of flowery scent that I can’t really place, but I’m thinking Gardenia for some reason. This isn’t exactly my favorite scent, but I only smell it while in the shower then it wears off. Creating a nice lather,...
...

I do cook a homemade dinner on most nights, but there are those days when we are eating something spicy, or I just don't feel like cooking that Gerber Graduates meals really come in handy. My son is a very picky eater, so I am making my way down the varieties seeing which ones he'll eat. The most recent variety is Garden Vegetables & Pasta in Tomato Sauce. He ate it, but it wasn't exactly like eating pizza!

Some of the Gerber Graduates for Toddlers Lil' Entrees can be a little bland, but I think this variety was more flavorful than most. This meal comes in a tray with two divided sections. One side is the pasta, veggies and tomato sauce, and the other side has peas and corn. To my son's dismay, this meal is loaded with veggies, so I mix the corn and peas into the other side. By the name of this product: Gerber Graduates for Toddlers Lil' Entrees Garden Vegetables & Pasta in Tomato Sauce, I was thinking it was a meatless meal since there is no mention of meat in the title,...
...

Lipton Onion Soup Mix is just one of those things that I always keep in my kitchen cabinets. It is supposed to be a dry soup mix but, in all honesty, I don't know of anyone who has ever actually used it to make onion soup. You can find it in every grocery store on the planet for less than $2 for two packges.

Everyone seems to have their own special use for Lipton Onion Soup Mix, including onion dip, meatloaf seasoning, hamburger seasoning, potato seasoning, marinades, etc. Personally, I use it for onion dip and mealoaf seasoning.

To me, there is nothing better than the lovely blend of sour cream and salty Lipton Onion Soup Mix. I actually get angry when I go to family and friend's houses and they serve the pre-made and completely white French Onion Dip with green specks scattered throughout. It is nowhere even close to how yummy the traditional onion dip made with this soup mix.

Portfolio 4-Piece Brushed Nickel Lamp Set

Recently, my husband and I were in search of some new lamps, we checked out another home improvement store, a few department stores and finally Lowe's when we saw this 4-Piece brushed nickel lamp set advertised in our local Lowe's ad.

It's a good value at $88.00 for the set. Each lamp is weighty and substantial enough to do the job. The brushed finish has a cool satiny look, the fabrc shades are basic white and add a lot of brightness to the room. I like the fact that these aren't super fancy or clunky looking. They have a classic, clean modern yet retro style to them and look great in our living room.

The floor lamp is 60" high, the table lamps are 27 1/2" high and my favorite, the accent lamp, is 17 1/2" high. I'd like it if the shades were a bit heavier but there's no disputing the fact that this is a smart buy for refreshing the look and feel of any room without spending a fortune doing it. I'm very happy with our purchase and will...
...

Bottom-Line: If you need an affordable, reliable, easy-to-install and configure 32-Bit NIC look no further than the Linksys LNE100TX EtherFast 10/100 LAN Card.

For the past few months the unthinkable has been happening, my Intel Pro 100/1000Gbps desktop-class Network Interface Card (NIC) had been failing. I didn’t want to believe it, but the last few days it has been none too obvious.

The problem: every time I restarted the (file) server the NIC was installed in, the adapter flapped, that is the link was dropping for long seconds, then come back for a minute, then dropping the link again.

The solution: the Linksys LNE100TX EtherFast 10/100 LAN Card

The 411

The LNE100TX EtherFast 10/100 LAN Card is a high performance NIC designed for desktop computers with 32-bit PCI expansion slots. Right out of the box, the LNE100TX EtherFast 10/100 LAN Card is ready to run on both 10BaseT and 100BaseTX networks. The 10/100Mbps NIC can automatically detect your networks maximum speed and adjusts...
...

njchicaa says "Yummy appetizers that you simply heat and serve. " about Pillsbury Savorings Artichoke and Spinach Bread Bowl Bites

I'm becoming quite the foodie and can be really snobby when I go to a friend or family member's house and am served all pre-prepared appetizers, sides, desserts, etc. My mother-in-law is infamous for using that kind of stuff which is how I first encountered Pillsbury Savorings Artichoke and Spinach Bread Bowl Bites. I enjoyed them enough on Thanksgiving to buy and serve them myself last night when we had friends over for dinner.

As the name implies, Pillsbury Artichoke & Spinach Bread Bowl Bites are bite-sized bits of spinach/artichoke dip in miniature bread bowls that can be served as appetizers or snacks. You simply preheat the oven or toaster oven to 400 F, spread them out on a baking sheet, and then bake for 14-16 minutes until golden brown. You don't have to thaw them before heating them which makes them a perfect thing to keep in the freezer for unexpected or extra guests and you are scrambling to make sure you have enough food for everyone.

There are good artichoke and spinach...
...

MRSverret says "A refreshing natural apple scent" about Glade The Fragrance Collection by Glade - Mcintosh Apple Soy Candle

I love candles that have a sweet smell to them. The Fragrance Collection by Glade has a McIntosh Apple scent so I took one whiff of the scent and was in love.

This candle is a soy candle and it's 92.4% natural. I picked up a 4.9 oz jar and the cost was around $6. This size will burn up to 26 hours. The candle comes in a small, somewhat thick, glass jar and it comes with a plastic lid.

The scent is spot on. There's no artificial smell. It smells just like fresh, crisp, tart apples. When the candle is lit the fragrance fills my home. With the small size of this candle it's perfect for small areas of the house but works in larger areas too.

I really liked this candle. It's has a great smell and it's 92.4% natural which means you're doing something good for you and the environment. I definitely recommend trying out The Fragrance Collection by Glade McIntosh Apple, especially if you like Yankee Candle MacIntosh Apple.
...

MikeMaroon says "Lookin for Love in all the Wrong Places......" about The Imperfect Enjoyment

by Dwan W. Gibson reminds me of dudes I knew in high school who used to brag about all the women they had or everyone sitting around the big screen TV, watching some reality show and recounting their dating horror stories from Match.com. And that's just how it reads. Mr. Gibson opens his first and, so far only, book, a memoir with the statement "The girls have always been good to me, most of the time." He then recounts his first kiss, in the seventh grade. From there it's all about the women he loved and lost.

Sometimes humorous, sometimes serious and always to the point, Gibson fashions a breezy and at times raunchy narrative describing how he got hooked on "the fairer sex", and his pursuit of love, often in all the wrong places. He moves away from his home in Cleveland for the bright lights of California, mostly to satisfy his sense of adventure and desire to get away from the social restrictions of a black man living in the midwest.

What he finds in San Diego isn't exactly...
...

MRSverret says "The perfect scent for Christmas time" about Febreze Apple Spice & Delight Candle

Since it's Christmas time, I wanted to get a scent for the holidays. I like to decorate for the Holidays and I like to finish it off with my house smelling the part too.

I seen the Febreze Apple Cinnamon & Delight candle on sale for $5 so I decided to pick it up. The red candle comes in a thick glass. It doesn't have any logos or stickers on it.

Febreze candles have an odor eliminating core so when you burn them you don't just cover up odors you neutralize them and freshen your house. The 5.5 oz jar that I bought will last up to 30 hours.

The box describes the scent as, "Red apples bobbing in a rain-filled barrel Apple Spice & Delight entices like crisp fruit fresh from the orchard." I don't get a fresh apple scent but I like it. It's a very warm and inviting scent.

The Febreze Apple Spice & Delight Candle is the perfect candle for the holidays. Febreze candles are good candles and they are cheap. I definitely recommend trying this one.
...

Fardreamer says "Up is a heartwarming film by the animators at Pixar Studios!" about Up

Although I have watched, perhaps, hundreds. if not thousands, of movies of all types (ranging from adult films to Z-grade Westerns) since the mid-1960s, I've never really been a fan of "family fare" or animated movies.

Perhaps this reluctance to like anything that smacks of kid-friendly fare stems from the razzing I suffered when, in the fifth grade, I remarked that I had gone to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarves when Walt Disney Pictures re-released it in theaters in one of those "once in a blue moon" Special Engagements. I, like many others before and since, had loved that first of the Disney classic animated films, but lots of my friends considered Disney movies "baby stuff" and totally uncool.

So even though I've seen some of the last batch of 2-D Disney Classics (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King), I tend to ignore tons of movies which are animated or are produced/released by Walt Disney Pictures.

For some reason, though, I've liked quite a few of...
...

this2shallpass19 says "Thin, low-fat Pretzel Crisps with the flavor of Buffalo wings!" about The Snack Factory - Buffalo Wing Pretzel Crisps

Knowing I love all things with a Buffalo wing flavor, my husband brought me home a snack he thought I would enjoy: The Snack Factory Buffalo Wing Pretzel Crisps. My husband knows me well, because I love this snack for several reasons: it's crunchy, healthy and it tastes great.

The Snack Factory Buffalo Wing Pretzel Crisps are thin, flat pretzels baked to a perfect crunch, then dusted in Buffalo wing seasonings. The end result is...delicious. The package says that they started with their snack-size pretzels, then removed the middle, leaving a thin, crunchy, pretzel-like snack. I like how crunchy they are; they have the appearance of a pretzel, but crunch like a thin cracker. The Buffalo wing flavor is slightly spicy with notes of vinegar and hot sauce.

What I love about these is that they are not only delicious, but very low in fat and calories. One serving consists of 18 pretzel crisps and only has 110 calories and 1.5 grams of fat. If you're a snacker like me, you know those...
...
