NathansMommy says "One of the best toys we own! Great for children of all ages" about Fisher-Price Amazing Animals Music and Motion Choo Choo

We bought the Fisher Price Amazing Animals Sing and Go Choo-Choo when our son was 6 months old, after watching him thoroughly enjoy one at a cousin's house. He loves it and we are thrilled that we bought it. He has played with it ever since, and even more than any other toy he has. Not only that, but every child that has come to our house has enjoyed it, whether they were 6 months old up to 9 years! It simply captivates children of all ages. This thing is super cute and extremely durable. Even after repeated abuse (beating on it, throwing it, standing on it, even puking on it ;), it runs like a top! It even runs great on carpet! The batteries last surprisingly long on it too. In a year and a half, I think I've only changed them twice, and considering how much it is played with, that is remarkable.

It is a noise-maker, with songs and sounds, but there is a low and high volume switch (as well as an off switch) and the low setting is very tolerable. The music is really great--anything gets......

NathansMommy says "Great, but better for babies than toddlers." about Fisher Price Infant Seat to Toddler Rocker

We registered for the Fisher Price Infant to Toddler Rocker and got one in our baby shower. It was a great place to put our baby when he was small, and he would sit in the seat quite content to look around and take in the world and the dangling animals were such an interest to him. When he got a little older, he began batting at the animals and really enjoyed himself, particularly when he figured out how to pull the handle on the cow and make music. Now that he's a toddler, he likes to sit and rock in the chair every now and then, but the rocker reclines too far back, even in the "upright" position, for much practical use. He ends up sitting way back and his feet can't touch the floor--and he's very tall for his age. That's frustrating. It would have been a much better design to have made the chair sit more upright for rocking. Overall, we're glad we have it (I struggled to decide between giving it 3 or 4 stars), but if we had to do it over again would probably purchase......

NathansMommy says "Super safe, environmentally friendly, and amazingly easy to use!" about lotus Sanitizing System

I looked everywhere for a product that would clean and better yet, sanitize my child's toys without harmful chemicals. I knew he would be putting everything in his mouth, and it bothered me to think about him ingesting things that might harm him. He has numerous soft toys like plush animals and cloth books and even cloth-covered electronic toys. You can't use something like bleach on these things. I spent hours on Google and in the stores looking for something that would clean and sanitize these things and came up short until I found the Lotus Sanitizing System.

This amazing contraption infuses normal tap water with oxygen in a way that makes it more effective and faster at killing germs than bleach, AND leaves no chemical residue or smell like bleach does. Not only that, but you can use the spray bottle to spray the treated water on anything that you want to clean and sanitize--don't try THAT with bleach! I just spray Lotus water on the toys (I usually give them a pretty good dousing)......

NathansMommy says "Won't buy anything else!" about Pampers Sensitive Wipes

After trying several brands of baby wipes (and hoping to get by with some cheaper ones), I have latched onto these Pampers Sensitive wipes and keep buying them every time. The other wipes just weren't doing the trick. I tried Huggies and some store brands, and found that I was having to spend lots of time scrubbing my little one's behind to get it clean. With the Pampers Sensitive, I can wipe much more gently and get him clean much more quickly (and quickly is of utmost importance with a toddler!) Also, we have had no problems with diaper rash since I have been using these wipes. I don't even care that much for the regular Pampers wipes, but these are great, and I would highly recommend them. I wish they were a little cheaper, but I just try to look for sales and coupons. Best wishes!...

NathansMommy says "This product STINKS!" about Baby Trend Diaper Champ

I have been so disappointed in my Diaper Champ. It came highly recommended by a good friend, and the fact that it used normal grocery bags rather than expensive specialty bags was a huge draw. However, we have tried everything and still this pail stinks up our son's nursery. And it's not just a faint smell. The stench is so powerful that it practically knocks you down when you open the door. It doesn't matter how often we empty or clean and sanitize it, nothing seems to help. We would have to empty it after every diaper change, and that sort of defeats the purpose of having a diaper pail. Go with something different. It would be worth the extra money to get rid of the odor....

NathansMommy says "A huge disappointment." about Fisher Price Power Plus Swing

We were so excited to find a swing that actually plugs in so that we could save a lot of money not buying batteries. It was super cute, and my son LOVED swinging in it. However, the first disappointment was that even though there were supposed to be 6 different speeds, there was very little difference in each one. I have read the reviews that some found the high speed way too fast, but we found that even on high, the swing didn't move that much. The second disappointment was that after only a couple of months, the swing just stopped altogether. Fisher Price sent us 2 different motors (all free of charge--kudos to their customer service), but we had the same problem every time. The swing would just get slower and slower until it would completely stop. At this point, my son weighed 14 pounds, and it seemed that he was just too heavy for the swing to move him. However, the weight limit on the swing said 25 pounds, so it should have worked just fine. We ended up sending the swing back to Fisher......

NathansMommy says "Love these bowls!" about Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls

I wanted some bowls with suction for the obvious reasons that most parents do--the avoidance of food dumping. I started with a Gerber plate that didn't work AT ALL and then moved to these bowls because the suction part is attached to the bowl instead of a separate piece (one of my major complaints with the Gerber plate). I also liked the fact that they had lids. When I first used them, I was disappointed because the suction didn't hold up to my little one's persistent pulling.

Then, my husband discovered that putting lots of water on the suction cup and the table or tray surface will form a seal strong enough that even my freakishly strong child cannot break. I had been wetting the suction cup before, but not with that much water. He actually runs the suction cup under the tap and then squeezes some water from a cloth onto the surface before sticking the bowl down. It works! Now I love these bowls and am so glad I bought them. The lids are a bit difficult to snap on and off, but that's......

NathansMommy says "I love seeing how everything falls into place chronologically!" about The One Year Chronological Bible: New Living Translation

Our church started reading the Chronological Bible at the beginning of this year, and we decided to order this copy in the New Living Translation rather than buying the New International Version the church was offering. First of all, let me say that this is an excellent resource, and a superb translation! We love the NLT because of it's easy-to-read, easy-to-understand wording. We also like how this Bible orders everything. There are differences in opinion as to the chronology of biblical events and writings, and we like the way this particular version does it.

One word of warning: the chronology in this Bible is VERY different from the One Year Chronological Bible in the NIV. We ended up not being able to use it for the majority of the year because it was totally different than what our church was doing. This was very aggravating because I expected, since it was still the One Year Chronological Bible, that the order if everything would be the same, no matter what translation it was. Not......

NathansMommy says "Booster seat and portable high chair all in one--Awesome!!" about Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster Seat

I LOVE the Healthy Care Booster Seat!! We are currently using it most as a booster seat without the tray, at the dinner table. Our son sits in it for every meal, and loves it. It's also extremely portable and great for taking places. We take it to church luncheons, restaurants, other people's houses, etc. and always get positive remarks about how handy it is. We have put it on a wide variety of different chairs and never had any trouble securing it to any of them. It's very easy to set up and take down, and folds neatly for compact carrying. It has two trays, so if you're traveling and can't clean the first tray before you need to use it again, the second is ready to go for the next meal (great for traveling!) I love that it has the snap-on cover to keep the tray clean during transit. The cover also keeps crumbs and food particles put after use too, if you can't clean it right away. The whole thing is also very easy to clean. The trays are diswasher safe.

The one thing I wish it had...
...

NathansMommy says "Of all the Mexican restaurants in town, Abuelo's is my favorite!" about Abuelo's - Hurst, TX

I absolutely love Abuelo's--the food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. It is unlike any other Mexican food restaurant in town. When you walk in, you feel like you're dining at an espensive, upscale restaurant, but then the menu prices are extremely reasonable (I am quite budget conscious), much like going to On the Border or Don Pablos. And the selection is fabulous. They have a wide variety of menu items. My favorite thing is enchiladas, but next time I go I will get the chicken medallions, on recommendation of a friend. Their flan is also to die for. The only gripe I have is that there isn't one close to my home. If you like good Mexican food, you simply MUST try Abuelo's!
...
