The thought of a sleeping cap spelled "constriction" until I became familiar with Wittman Textiles, the maker of my best night shirts (please, see review below).

Wittman specializes in USA-made, natural fabric, comfort nightwear. Two styles of Sleeping Caps are available -- the regular Comfort Sleeping Cap and the Turtleneck Night Cap.

For stiff-necked people like me, the Wittman Turtleneck Cap can provide extra, comforting warmth on a cold night. Regular Comfort Sleeping Caps, in a stalwart navy blue, have been sent to servicemen in Iraq and other freezing points of service. For that purpose, the regular cap is renamed a Watch Cap! It can be great 24/7 for our soldiers.

Background on Buyuggsboot.net

A friend of mine at Viewpoints recently passed along a site called www.buyuggsboot.net. She found it online. www.buyuggsboot.net is a web site that sells all styles of Ugg Boots at discounted prices.

We werent certain if www.buyuggsboot.net were the real or not. But after a thorough review of the site, we thought it was legit. Buyuggsboot.net looks like a reasonable reseller of Ugg Boots. The page is designed well, the pictures look authentic and they make claim to having the real deal. They also consistently site throughout the web site having customer satisfaction commitments.

To add to the thought it was authentic, the pricing seemed good but not amazing. As you probably know a typical pair of Ugg Boots cost about $110. On Buyuggsboot.net the cost was $89.00- approximately a $20 savings. Seemed like a good deal, but they werent so cheap that I thought it could be scam. This little piggy's made of cast iron, a rust hazard if you don't properly season it before using for cooking. Directions for preparing and cooking with the eight-and-a-half inch long Norco Pig are included. Why FOUR STARS? Because I've never pressed before! Somewhere out there, there may be a blah-er looking but more outstanding bacon press.

I first saw the piggy in the Harrington's of Vermont* catalog. It looked identical to the Norco, except that Harrington's was described as made of cast aluminum. While the cast aluminum pig wouldn't need seasoning and might clean up better, I like better the weight and heat conductivity of cast iron. Be careful though. A cast iron press can damage the surface of non-stick pans if not used with extreme gracefulness!

Ruffles and flourishes don't make shower caps work. Avon's Advanced Techniques Shower Cap, unadorned save for some pretty polkadots, cuts to the chase and keeps the dreaded Moisture Monster at bay. This is especially important for someone with skinny, fine hair like mine. Just a moment of moisture takes the curl out of my hair whether outside or in. And there's nothing worse than saggy, soggy hair.

Why did I describe myself as "a dog and cat Mama" in a shower cap review?

Well... when my pooches need to take a potty break in the rain or on a foggy night, they eagerly wait until I agree to go out with them. (Yes, they're spoiled. Before we adopted them, they lived outdoors 24/7 in all kinds of weather.) This excursion works best when I put on my Avon Shower Cap first. Nothing penetrates this cap. Nothing! (If I'm walking in the neighborhood, I wear a hoody over this less-than-attractive cap arrangement.) And all is happiness when we get back inside.

My husband "Pal" and I have a complete record with the popular Ikea Poang Chair. We purchased our first at Ikea, another (with the footstool) at Goodwill, and pulled in two off the street. They have circulated from room to room and always said "Welcome" to anyone entering the room. Judged by looks only, the Poang is positively seductive.

The Ikea Poang provides comfort and support from the first sitdown. It is not however the chair for a full evening's sit watching TV nor is it the ideal chair for a long read by the fire in the livingroom. Fact is, it's not truly supportive in a way that favors the lower back. Spend too long in it and, if you're not an athletic young thing, you need a good martial arts ki-yi or a hefty helper to get out of it.

The Poang's slipcover is machine washable -- a good thing if your cat likes to sit in it, too. Lamentably, stuffing the two foam cushions removed for washing back into the slipcover presents a challenge hardly less athletic than a robust...

Every Christmas season for the past five years, I've photographed students and friends posed in a variety of Santa Hats. This year, I hung up some of my Walgreen's Santa Hats over the fireplace where our stockings usually go. You can see my starters above. I may rearrange them and add the stockings as well.

In the meantime, it occurs to me that with an additional strong loop, each Walgreen's Santa Hat might contain just the right amount of small items representing the smaller amounts the current recession has demanded of a lot of us.

In any case, my favorite hat is the one on the far left which is labelled "Diva". But there others I don't yet own that could make up a nifty collection. The Duluth Trading Company Santa Cap, even on sale at $14.50 this year, is a little more than I want to pay. But I'm keeping my eye on it, and you can too at DuluthTradingCompany.com

The Intimate Eve Cami came from Sears and I can't remember the last time I shopped at Sears. I was with a friend on Saturday and she was in search of the perfect petite-sized housecoat with snaps for her 88-year-old mother. None of the anchor stores at the mall sold them so they kept suggesting we go to Sears; which really was our last department store of choice when we had Belk, Dillards and JC Penneys but we headed to Sears and while on the way to the lingerie department I spotted the camisoles. I wasn't really shopping for anything and honestly, I wasn't in need of more camisoles but they were on sale so I got me two, a pink one and a white one.

I don't wear many of the nylon camisoles that were worn 20+ years ago. I like the sporty camisoles with the built-in shelf bra. Why? Because many of the dancers realized we could wear these as the outer garment during practice because it was like a tank-top but still added some support. By the end of the HBO series True Bloods' first season I had become intensely interested in reading the series of books upon which the show is based, and so I bought the boxed set of (7) books, the second of which is Living Dead in Dallas.

Synopsis

Living Dead in Dallas picks up where Dead Until Dark left off. The book revolves around the life of a waitress, 26-year-old Sookie Stackhouse, who makes her home in the Northern Louisiana town of Bon Temps.

Living Dead in Dallas opens as Sookie finds the dead body of Lafayette, the openly Gay short order cook at Merlotte's the bar in which she works. Sookie soon learns that Lafayette had been frequenting local sex parties and she believes members of the group might know something about her associate's murder so she uses her "disability" to start tuning into people's thoughts as they come into the bar.

I enjoy my frugality and my seasonal change of throw pillows with the generous selection found at World Market. I bought the World Market pillows pictured above at two for $10 on an in-store special. As you can see, I don't mind mixing prints with patterns just as long as everything is lively and there's some commonality of color.

World Market imports many of its pillows from India. Fabrics and sizes vary. Some are embroidered, others have woven stripes or applied paints. In the case of my new ones, the fabric is cotton, there are no zippers, and dry cleaning is recommended. Dry cleaning is usually a number one put-off for me. In this case, though, I protect the pillows with a spraying of Scotchguard and, at the least, get months (if not years) of wipe-down wear. These pillows are about 14 X 14 inches square.

Because of their tiny price, I'll eventually toss my pillows in a cold water wash at "gentle" and hope for the best. The fill is polyester, and the greatest negative...

My puppy loves his Red Kong Tuffy. I fill it with Charlee Bear treats and he is entertained for a while rolling the toy around and getting the treats out. Sometimes I feel bad leaving him imprisoned in the bathroom for a few hours while I am out. He has other toys in there, but I don't want him to be bored.

When I saw the Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug Interactive Dog Toy in the store, I thought it was just the thing for an inquisitive little puppy. The Tug-A-Jug toy is made of high-density see-thru purple plastic. It's shaped like a jug (surprise), and the narrower neck of the jug is a spherical rubber end covered in nubbies, and there is a plastic rope with two balls on the end in the jug. Half of the rope is in the jug, and the other half sticks out, and moves in and out of the jug.

What you do is unscrew the large end of the jug and put treats inside. The screw-on end has holes in it which is supposed to entice the dog to play with it by letting him smell the treats inside. As the dog rolls the...

I really like black licorice once in a while as a treat. It does have a strong flavor which is why I only have a little at a time. I like black licorice ropes, licorice Altoids, and I like things with Anise in them. When I drank liquor, Anisette was a favorite cordial.

Though they can only come out at night, Vampires have made their presence felt throughout society and dating the "undead" has becomes almost fashionable. And drinking their blood can bestow super-human abilities, or drive the consumer mad.

Few movies have garnered as much attention, derision, and critical acclaim as the just released Precious the depressing (could be anyone) story of a 15-year-old African American girl growing up in Harlem during the latter part on the 1980's.

Story Line

Directed by Lee Daniels (Shadowboxer), and adapted from the novel Push by Sapphire, Precious centers around the life of Clarice "Precious" Joans portrayed by new-comer Gabourey Sidibe. Clarice is dark, obese, illiterate, unloved, unwanted, and pregnant with a second child sired by her father. She gave birth to her first child (also sired by her father) at age twelve and refers to the child, who has Down's syndrome and lives with her Grandmother, as Mogul.

Clarice lives with her verbally, physically, and sexually abusive mother, Mary, portrayed by Mo'Nique. Mary doesn't work and instead collects welfare checks and food stamps for Precious and her...

When I became a Victoria's Secret Angel, I got an e-coupon for A tube of Beauty Rush Lip Gloss... of all of the flavors, I picked Cupquake. Then I got a free Beauty Rush Lip Kit when I made an online order, and yes, I got yet another Cupquake, Strawberry Fizz, and Cherry Bomb.

When you look at the tube, the gloss seems really sparkly. Luckily when you apply it, you don't look like you have glitter on your lips. It does have a nice sheen to it, and the flavors are really yummy. They only give your lips a hint of color, and in the case of Strawberry Fizz - no color at all.

After you apply the Beauty Rush Lip Gloss, your lips do feel kind of sticky. It's been my experience with lip products that if they don't have a sticky feel to them, they rub off right away. That even happens with Chapstick and Carmex, so I don't think it's that big of a deal. This lip gloss does stay on your lips a while, so I consider it a necessary evil.

Bottom-Line: Hands down, the Dell Latitude E6500 is a performance winner.

Now that Windows 7 is finally on the street, it is time for another technology refresh in my company; this time the entire department traded up to the Dell Latitude E6500 Notebook computer. Dell constructed the business-class notebook of a magnesium alloy, rugged paint finish and tough metal hinges, which makes the Latitude E6500 more durable than older Dell portable offerings.

My slate black (it can also be had in red and blue) Latitude E6500 doesn't feel any heavier than the notebook it replaces, which makes carrying the portable desktop replacement everyday easy on the shoulders and back.
