When my coworkers were discussing Hop Haus for lunch one day, the question on everyone's mind was which wild game burger (kangaroo, ostrich, bison, boar, etc) to have that day. Being vegetarian, I wasn't sure what options I would have - but I had never been and wanted to give the place a try. The menu has a pseudo burgers section and listed a "Homemade Vegan" burger. I know what you are thinking...vegan?...how could that be any good? Well, I have got to tell you that it was quite possibly the best veggie burger I have ever had. This one was cooked perfectly and was dressed with sauteed mushrooms, avocado and italian dressing. I was completely impressed and would absolutely recommend anyone try it.

It is worth noting that our party arrived right at noon and were able to get a table without a wait. The rest of the group enjoyed their wild game burgers. The total per person (no drinks, including tax and tip) was around $15.

Background on Buyuggsboot.net

A friend of mine at Viewpoints recently passed along a site called www.buyuggsboot.net. She found it online. www.buyuggsboot.net is a web site that sells all styles of Ugg Boots at discounted prices.

We werent certain if www.buyuggsboot.net were the real or not. But after a thorough review of the site, we thought it was legit. Buyuggsboot.net looks like a reasonable reseller of Ugg Boots. The page is designed well, the pictures look authentic and they make claim to having the real deal. They also consistently site throughout the web site having customer satisfaction commitments.

To add to the thought it was authentic, the pricing seemed good but not amazing. As you probably know a typical pair of Ugg Boots cost about $110. On Buyuggsboot.net the cost was $89.00- approximately a $20 savings. Seemed like a good deal, but they werent so cheap that I thought it could be scam. As an aside, last year Nordstrom had a similiar sale on Ugg boots so the pricing seemed...

Last night I went to Craft Steak in Vegas at the MGM Grand. I am a big fan of Tom Colicchio who is the owner of Craft and arguably one of the most famous celebrity chefs since his role as the head judge on Bravo's Top Chef. Tom is known for his attention to detail and fresh ingredients. I have been to Craft in NYC and just fell in love with the wide assortment of fresh vegetables and family style approach.

I was not disapointed with my experience at Craft Steak in Vegas. We orderd the 12 oz Kobe Skirt Steak and the assortment of mushrooms, roasted asparagus and a great avocado salad (pics to the right) and buffalo mozerella to start out with. The steak was really amazing: tender, flavorful and overall mouth watering. I had a margarita to start with, followed by the Resiling (which was a little tangy but ultimately very nice) and then the Zifnandel with the entree. I finished it off with a butterscotch pudding (pics to the right) and a nice port.

I have been to the Metro ( www.metrochicago.com ) more times than I can count and I have never had a bad experience. The relatively small size of the venue combined with the quality of talent that the Metro brings in results in an amazing experience. You can go to the Metro literally any night of the week and have a good time while discovering new music. The Metro consistently brings in local and emerging artists and gives you the ability to see a band before they really make it and are a national success.

The other thing that I really like about the Metro is the location. Located at 3730 N. Clark St. in Chicago, it is very easy to get to via public transportation (bus and/or L) or cab. There are some parking options close by, but with the red line addison stop just a few minutes away from the venue, it is difficult to pass up that option.
