MotorcycleMark says "Great Motorcycle Boots for Street Riding" about Sidi Vertigo Corsa Motorcycle Boots

These are the best motorcycle boots I have owned in my 40 years of riding. Being Italian, manufactured in Italy, you have to know they are good boots. The boots have the most ankle support of any boot. Period! I have broken my ankle and would only wear these. — They are adjustable in the calves and the bridge of your foot. All the adjustments for comfort place these boots far above the competition. The adjustments keep your feet from moving around in the boot, a safety feature in the case of a crash. Non skid soles, operable venting, and many of the parts being replaceable adds more lure to owning a pair. — To see more of the boots go to www.motonation.com. All the various models, with many colors are shown and you can purchase from this site. Mine are black and red, a fairly conservative looking pair. You can buy them with as much flash as you want. The cost is high, but your safety is worth it. —...

MotorcycleMark says "The Fastest Motorcycle Roadracing in the US" about Laguna Seca - - Salinas, CA

Sponsored by Red Bull, with no expenses spared, held at Mazda Raceway, in the hills of Monterey, California, Laguna Seca is the favorite Road Race of the year. Racers and fans from around the world will be there filling the Monterey Peninsula with motorcycles. The cream of the crop of racers will be competing for Round 11 of the Moto GP season coming directly from the previous week race in Sachsenring, Germany. — Approximately 70,000 plus people per day will be attending. A large vendor midway loaded with motorcycle accessories, clothing, etc. is right at the track. The food courts are surprisingly good for race track food. There are plenty of vendors for all libations. Weather has been known to be cool, however, unfortunately last year had record hot temperatures. The race is so exciting, weather is never a problem. — Ducati Island is off on its own beside the Midway for all Ducati lovers. It really is a peninsula on water inside the speedway...

MotorcycleMark says "Best motocross racers in the world coming to the US this fall!" about Budd's Creek Motocross Park Racing

The event is held in Budd's Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland on Sept 22 and 23 2007. The last time the race was in the US was 1987 at Unadilla Sports Center in New Berlin, NY. Every year the race is in a different country and is just once a year only. — Each country enters four of its best riders. Nobody knows yet who the US team will be. It is undetermined to this date. However, this is a huge event that you definitely want to make it to. Motocross is off road racing including jumps, ruts, and bumps on a dirt track. This is not to be confused with Supercross, which is indoors and the one you usually see on TV. However, this is more exciting because it is outdoors making it faster, the tracks are longer and the jumps are higher. This sort of speed would never be accomplished inside a dome. The sound of the motocross starting is like a swarm of bees. It is as exciting for the novice as the experienced race watcher. — The...

MotorcycleMark says "A totally reliable ride for cross country touring " about Yamaha XS 750 - 1978 Motorcycle

The 1978 Yamaha XS 750 is somewhat of a Yamaha oddity in that it is a 3 cylinder shaft driven motorcycle. It is definitely collectible and can be hard to find, but well worth the look. In 1978 when it came out it was considered a fast 750. It is great for touring as it is a shaft driven motorcycle, hence no chain maintenance or headaches. Of course, Standard, meaning that you sit up straight on this bike. Even on a long distance this was very comfortable. It is a very quiet ride. — In collecting, most searches are done through trade magazines, classifieds, Ebay and on-line. This bike came to me by a different and interesting route. — Some friends had talked me in to touring with them starting in Las Vegas. I flew in, with money in hand, looking for something to ride and tour the west. I had no idea what I would buy. I went to a smaller motorcycle accessory store that I had researched and saw the bike sitting there as a consignment bike. I talked to the...

MotorcycleMark says "Everybody should have this in their garage" about Pro Honda - Spray Cleaner and Polish

Pro Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish is a must for all motorcyclists. It quickly cleans, polishes and protects in one easy application. A spray cleaner like this should always be used before wiping the bike with a cloth to avoid scratching the finish. I like this better than any of the others I have used and go back to this one. I have seen many motorcyclists that keep this on board the motorcycle with a towel for quick clean ups during the ride. This stuff is so good that you can clean your helmet visor to a high luster while at the same you can clean oil and road residue off the engine with similar results. In other words, it does it all. — The only thing that I see go wrong with it is that the tip clogs occasionally. I purchase mine at any Honda motorcycle outlet. It only costs approximately $4.95 a can. — ...

MotorcycleMark says "Stunningly Beautiful Italian Motorcycle" about Ducati 916 - 1997 Motorcycle

The 1997 Ducati 916 is a must have for a motorcycle collection or an enthusiast. They were produced from 1994 to 1998. When this motorcycle came out in 1994 it revolutionized the sport bike market. It was the fastest Ducati to date. It has loads of horsepower, wide light weight rims, fuel injection and a single sided swing arm. It has twin exhausts wrapping up the right side and exiting under the rear tail section. — I had to have one of these motorcycles for many reasons, as I tried to explain to my wife. Pointing out to her all the beautiful features of my new addition to the collection, I started the bike so she could hear the wonderful sound of an Italian V-twin. The color is of a true Italian motorcycle and sports a beautiful red body. All the components are solely first rate Italian made. The Italians make marvelous hand assembled motorcycles. — The bike is worth owning because anyone who walks up to this motorcycle will be instantly enamored...

MotorcycleMark says "A motorcyclists' must have magazine" about Motorcycle Consumer News

Motorcycle Consumer News is a small black and white monthly magazine that accepts no advertising. Its size goes to show how much advertising ads to the size of a periodical. It is chock full of technical content. The drawback is the price of subscription of $44.00 per year. However, that is how they survive, with no advertising, and it's worth it. — Any time the editors test a motorcycle or product you know you're getting an honest review due to the fact they aren't obligated to any manufacturers. The writers of this magazine have all been life long motorcyclists and they all ride. it is not on newsstands and is bought by private subscription only. — It tests monthly motorcycles and gear including boots, helmets, clothing, etc. There are also informative articles monthly on medical motorcycling with the medical aspects of touring and being alert, proficient motorcycling, basically how to stay upright and not be run over, reviews on motorcycle riding...

MotorcycleMark says "What most of the pros wear" about Arai Helmets RX7 Corsair

The Arai RX7 Corsair is a road riding helmet. It is fiberglass, hand made in Japan by a 50 year business. I own 2 of this style helmet. I have owned a multitude of other helmets but Arai is the best fitting and safest on the market. It has impact flexibility. All my helmets are now Arai. — — Too many riders buy by price alone and they are getting cheap plastic shell helmets. Motorcycle shops these days are full of inexpensive Chinese and Korean plastic shell helmets. Avoid these. Your safety is paramount. — The Arai RX7 Corsair is comfortable and I feel safe when wearing it. There are various linings and padding available so that these helmets can fit any shape head. — It is important to be sized correctly for the helmet. Don't just walk in to a shop and pull the helmet on and say it doesn't fit. Arai makes many affordable pads and liners to fit even the strangest head. A good shop will assist you in the fitting of the helmet. You want...

MotorcycleMark says "A Must Read for Serious Motorcyclists" about Motorcyclist

Motorcyclist is a must read for serious motorcyclist's. There is no reason not to subscribe, as subscriptions are inexpensive. One year is just $10.00 and 2 years is $18.00. — This magazines has very honest product reviews of everything from motorcycles, apparel, helmets, all the way through chain lube. The magazine is mainly about sport bikes for the streets but also includes travel articles. The travel articles are mainly about sport touring. I have been reading this magazines since its inception and highly recommend it. There is the usual amount of advertising, which is a good thing for the motorcyclist, giving one new products to look in to. — The photographs are colorful, glossy and descriptive. Photographs are of motorcycles and destinations. The travel pictures are enough to make you want to start your bike and take off. — Watch for more magazine reviews. — ...

MotorcycleMark says "Good spectator viewing, ultra long straigtaways, A + party" about AMA Pro Roadracing at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wi

The race is in Elkhart Lake,WI, a small town on Elkhart Lake. The temperature is usually temperate, perfect viewing weather, in the 70's. Nights might require a jacket with the temperature being in the 50's and 60's. It is a cool, small, race town. — The race is the first weekend of June or close to it and is always great racing. Nine world champions have won super bike races here. This year, 2007, it is the weekend of June 1. Besides all the AMA races, this a superbike double header weekend. The highest speed on track this weekend has been 187 miles per hour from a factory Suzuki. — Great food in Elkhart Lake. One place not to miss is the bar, Siebkens, at Siebkens Resort, 284 Lake Street. Many of the racers will be staying here. All the racers end up visiting the bar and you can meet and greet racers there. Everyone loves to party at Siebkens. It such a cool place, seeing the fans show up on their bikes, talking with them, and meeting the racers. — The AMA...
