Moonwind says "this is my preferred choice of places to stay" about Bed & Breakfast Inns

Since my wedding night in 1985, I have stayed at dozens of different bed and breakfasts. — Importantly, I don't regret staying at any of them. While some of them may have suited me more than others, they all were superior in both decor, comfort, amenities, little extras, food, and customer service. Some have been high-priced but worth it. Many have been extremely reasonably priced because of the included breakfast, early check-ins or late check-outs, and variety of things to do included. — Confortable beds, luxurious linens, gorgeous gardens, snacks and beverages, gourmet breakfasts, hot tubs, fireplaces, and wonderful hosts are just some of the wonderful things I have experienced. Romance is much better in these surroundings than a regular hotel or motel. I think bed and breakfasts offer a superior stay and value for your money. You feel relaxed and pampered, enjoy pleasant conversations, and much more. — The last one I stayed at was for my 50th birthday last month. It was the...

Moonwind says "Another series by the author of all the Nancy Drew books" about Dana Girl Mysteries

This is a fun series for those who like Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and similar series. I read them as a pre-teen and teen. My oldest daughter did also. She collects them, but they are getting harder to find since they don't seem to be published any more. For some reason, the Nancy Drew series by the same author was the popular one. I feel that this series is equally as good, and very similar in some ways. I look for these books at used book stores, libraries, online, and at yard sales. They can be found priced at anywere from 25c up to $15 or more. I have mostly paid from $4 to $6 in the past few years. They have attractive covers and interesting titles and story-lines. — If you have a pre-teen or teenage girl who likes to read, I highly recommend these wholesome, fun mysteries. It could start a nice collection. —...

Moonwind says "If you love all things Victorian, this is for you!" about Victoria

For many years I was a subscriber to this magazine. My sister gave me the subscription as a Christmas gift every year. It and Country LIving were here two favorite magazines. It stopped publishing, and we were both heartbroken. It was such a pleasant part of our relaxation time. — Now it is back in publication due to popular demand. It still has gorgeous glossy photos, oustanding articles, and provides loads of fantastic ideas for decorating, crafts, gardening, businesses, recipes, and more! I even love reading the ads, as many of them are related to the Victorian theme. History of that time period is included. — What I love best is the daydreaming I do after looking at the photos and reading the articles and imagining the elegance and wonder of that time. It has inspired me in making displays or doing simple crafts and even in gift-giving. I also enjoy learning of those wonderful women who have created their bliss with a business of their own based on this theme....

Moonwind says "This is the one magazine for almost everyone to enjoy..." about Readers Digest

Reader's Digest is the only magazine that I can think of that the whole family from about age 7 up can enjoy. It has interesting articles on various topics every month, plus lots of clean humor. When I was in elementary school through high school many years ago, I used it as resource for papers I had to write. My family enjoyed the true funny stories that readers wrote in. (You can earn good money if your submissions are accepted.) We also loved the inspirational stories that shows how good humans and animals can be. — When I got married and raised my own family, we subscribed off and on for many years. My kids would all pick it up off the end table and read it. They mostly loved it for the humor, and would love to be the first one to share a particularly funny submission. (If someone was going to be a long time in the bathroom, that was the usual reading material taken in) — My kids are all out on their own now. I gave my eldest son a gift subscription...

Moonwind says "Exciting new natural skin care and beauty possibilities!" about FineLotions.com

There is a website called finelotions.com that features all kinds of skin care, hair care, and other beauty items at low, very reasonable prices for women and men. This company was started by a woman who had very sensitive skin who created products without fillers and chemicals that upset her skin. Her friends loved them so much she turned it into a business and called the line Hoity Toity. — She uses a lot of shea in her face creams. She has probably 100 different scents for her lotions, hair care, and delightful sudsing hand wash. You also get free samples and can ask her any questions about products and expect great customer service. — My daughter turned me and all her friends onto these fabulous products. I have been buying them and using them for almost 2 years now. I gave some as gifts to other people, who in turn became customers. My sister said my niece borrowed some of her hair products and is usually picky about them, but wouldn't give these back as she...

Moonwind says "This heater does what we want it to and was a reasonable price!" about Holmes Upright Space Heater

We bought this heater recently after looking at several different brands and models. It was an excellent choice for us. We heat mostly with a woodstove and have backup electric heat, which can get quite expensive. Since there are only two of us, and my husband works 12 hr shifts, it is not always practical to build a fire. We keep the electric heat down so that it will only turn on if it gets really cold, so that the pipes won't burst. I use this heater in either the bathroom or bedroom mostly. What I do is turn it on just for short periods of time. It warms the area of the room I am in quickly. It is terrific for first thing in the morning and in the evening or night when it is really cold out. It is quite safe,durable,inexpensive,nice-looking, and reliable. I would highly recommend it. It keeps our utility bill down. My husband came home from work yesterday and said that one of our friends just bought the same kind and is using it in his unheated garage that has electrical...

Personal development is a big part of my life right now. I read a lot of books that are business-related,self-improvement oriented, motivational, and similar. This particular book only cost me a few dollars from the Early to Rise website. (They have a wonderful free daily ezine you can subscribe to also.) I have read it several times already in the past few months that I have had it and highlighted it everywhere! Since I have started doing some of the things suggested in this 224 page book, many positive things have happened: — 1. I am becoming more organized and effective with my time. — 2. I have discovered my life's purpose, have set written goals for myself and have already even achieved some of them! — 3. Now am wasting less time on things that don't matter because I have established my prioirities and am motivated to take action. — This book has solid advice. It is deceivingly practical in some ways, and yet I would never have thought of...

This is a product I have seen demonstrated several times, read lots about, and even tasted things made in it, but do not own it myself..... yet. It is definitely on my wish list. The cost has kept me from buying one, though I feel that it is worth the asking price. You can make soups, salsas, ice cream, and so much more with this machine. Recipes come with it. It has a heavy-duty motor. This is a substantial piece of equipment. People I know have had theirs for many years and with no problems. It is even easy to clean after using, If you are into healthier eating, than this is one product you should consider getting for your kitchen. You can make things homemade with no additives using homegrown or organic produce. It is versatile and user-friendly. I saw it demonstrated at both Sam's Club and the State Fair and was impressed both times. Price- roughly $500+ last I...

As an avid reader, I borrow books from several different libraries in the Colorado Springs metro area. East library is my favorite for several reasons. There are always special events going on that are of interest such as book clubs or learning about something. If they don't stock a book you would like to read they will order it from another library in the state and hold it for you. They have an extensive assortment of books for every subject, or so it seems, as well as magazines, reference materials,CDs,DVDs,audio books, and more. — Whether you want to study quietly, read in a comfortable chair, surf the Internet, view the art on display, or just ask the librarian relevent questions, this library is the place to do it. They even have a little coffee shop in the lobby where you first come in and a used bookstore. For very low prices you can buy collectible books, classics, novels, textbooks, movies, cassettes, magazines, and more. The proceeds go to help the library....

This is one magazine I have subscribed to for many years. There are quite a few refund magazines that had come and gone, but RefundCents (formerly Refunding Makes Cents) has stayed the course. Refunding is a hobby where you submit forms and proofs of purchase in order to receive either free products, rebates of money, or gifts. Many of my Christmas and birthday gifts through the years have been obtained because of this wonderful publication. I have received such things as toys,t-shirts,books,movies, free food coupons,a very elegent coffee set, crystal glassware, gardening set, fishing equipment, baseball diamond with 4 bases, etc! — In addition to listing the latest refund forms available in the U.S., there are also mentions of fantastic deals to be had at the main grocery chains, drug stores, online, and other stores. Everything coupon-related is welcome here. Readers submit their own successful shopping trip stories , photos , and...

Moonwind says "One of the best experiences of my life!" about Homeschooling

Homeschooling my two youngest sons was one of the highlights of my life. My older three children all attended and graduated from public school. My next to youngest I taught at home from 6th grade through12th and graduated him. My youngest son I taught from 5th grade until 10th grade. (He asked to go back to school in 11th to socialize, meet girls, etc. and we agreed. He made National Honor Society in 11th grade and had no problems readjusting to public school. He scored high on his ACT test and now has been asked to apply for West Point because he has the qualifications they are looking for. His teachers told me that they were so impressed with his ability to learn, his research skills, manners, and much more.) — What I discovered while teaching them is that I was either learning along with them, or getting a great review of what I already...

Moonwind says "Makes crockpot clean-up a breeze!" about Reynolds Slow Cooker Liners

In the past couple years, I have been using my large slow-cooker a lot, for a multitude of reasons- health,budget,time-savings,better taste, and more. One of the things that turned me off though, was having to scrub the heavy inside ceramic container of the crockpot after using it. (In fact, the first one I had was dropped accidentally while being washed by a boy who was trying to be helpful. It broke into a lot of pieces and I found out that it couldn't be replaced. So after thoughtful consideration, I decided to buy another one.) — When I was grocery shopping one day, I came across a display of Reynolds Slow-cooker liners. Immediately, I saw the potential for them. There are 4 plastic bags that come in a box for anywhere from about $2.25 up to $4 depending on the store. I was fortunate that these were on sale that day, and there were coupons provided on the display. These liners are supposed to fit most crockpots. Mine is the...

Moonwind says "These are a must-have in my kitchen!!!" about Reynolds Wrappers

While in the checkout line at Walmart well over a year ago, I happened to notice something called Reynolds Wrappers. The idea of pop-up sheets of foil in a handy size appealed to me, so I spent $1 to buy a box of 25. Since then I have bought several more boxes, because I use them all the time. I line my pans with them when I bake dinners such as chicken or pork chops, and the meat doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. I don't have to spray cooking spray. My non-stick pans still would always stick , so with these nice sheets of aluminum I don't have to worry. All the grease stays in the foil and I am able to roll the whole thing up into a ball and throw it away and not clog up my drain. — There are many other uses for them, and I continue to find new uses on a regular basis. They can cover the pan...
