MomOfAFlock says "Downloading Desktop Smiley was a HUGE mistake!" about Desktop Smiley

A week or so ago, my daughter was searching for free emoticons on the internet, and came across Desktop Smiley. This website offers 1,000's of free emoticons, as well as free screensavers and wallpapers. All you have to do is download the desktop smiley toolbar.

If you are considering this, STOP NOW!!!!. We downloaded the toolbar, (on two computers no less,) and from then on we were inundated with pop-ups. Our internet explorer pop-up blocker missed them all, so did our Yahoo pop-up blocker. I began to suspect that the desktop smiley toolbar had something to do with it, so I went into the control panel and uninstalled the toolbar. We still had pop-ups. Over and over. Pages and pages would be behind whatever we were working on. Finally, I investigated to see if anything else had installed at the same time as the DesktopSmiley toolbar. Sure enough, there were two other ulitlites that had installed on the same day. After I uninstalled those, everything went back...
...

MomOfAFlock says "The best charcoal grill I've ever had" about Uniflame CBC730W Rectangular charcoal grill

I had looked at these grills for a long time, trying to decide if the "bells and whistles" were worth the added expense. At our local Wal-Mart, they were around $70. I am a fan of charcoal, and that seemed a little high for a charcoal grill. But one day I noticed they had a demonstration grill marked way down ($20) because they had let the trimmings on it get rusty. So I brought it home.

This grill is designed differently from my old one. First, there is a rack for the charcoal, just like the rack that the meat lays on. On the front of the grill is a crank that raises the rack holding charcoal up or down. On all my others, I had to raise and lower the food if I wanted to adjust the distance. I love the concept, but that was the first thing to tear up on the grill. Could it have been because of the exposure to the elements? I don't know. I didn't feel too disgruntled yet, because the grill was only $20.

Under the bottom of the grill is a large ash container with...
...

MomOfAFlock says "Madagascar 2: you'll laugh in the middle and cheer at the end!" about Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

Okay, I admit I rarely enjoy sequels. Most often a good story is better left alone in my opinion. But this one was OK! It does a wonderful job of bringing to conclusion the saga of Alex, Marty, Melmin and Gloria. It begins with a glimpse of just how Alex the Lion was transported from the plains of Africa to the center of New York as a cub, (but I'll not give it away!) As the foursome leaves Madagascar, with the penguins manning the cockpit of a patched together airplane, their intended destination is home in New York. But fate has other ideas, and they crash land in a wildlife refuge in Africa where Alex is reunited with his parents, and struggles to find acceptance. Of course, as the main character, he ultimately saves the refuge from a major crisis. A surprise romance (or 2) is revealed among the major characters. And a guest appearance by the little old lady that beat Alex up in Grand Central Station in the first movie brings some chuckles. She hasn't mellowed any......

MomOfAFlock says "Samsung BL03 is good enough for a pro, easy enough for a novice" about Samsung - BL103 Digital Camera

I purchased my Samsung BL103 10.2 mp camera just a few days ago during WalMart's Black Friday sale. Since then, I have hardly put it down! This camera is so much fun. Some of the features include:

B&W, Sepia and other effects at the touch of a button

Video (up to 15 minutes on a 1 GB SD card at highest quality)

Scene setting adjustments for nightscene, sunset, dawn, children, backlight, fireworks, and others.

The option to take over the adjustments manually, (arpeture, shutter speed, etc. for the professionals!)

Slideshow playback, with music.

16MB internal memory

Settings to adjust for "hand shake" in low light.

Voice memo option, so you never forget what that thing was you took a picture of!

2.7 inch viewing screen

Lots more

Since I bought this during the after-Thanksgiving sale, I don't know what the average price will be. This is a newly launched model. But it is many times over worth the $69 I paid for it last week. Time will tell how it holds up to my excessive use!
...

MomOfAFlock says "Every married, engaged or dating couple needs this movie!" about FIREPROOF

I went into the theater knowing that this movie had a marriage message, however, I was expecting based on the movie poster and the title, that there would be more of the literal firefighting scenarios. However, the movie was so captivating that I didn't miss them at all. It really voices many of the things that men and women in relationships often think, but never say, and follows through with resolving those issues. I left the theater, reminded just how thankful I should be for my husband, and I know many men have recommited to loving and cherishing their wives. Thanks to the church that goes to this effort to bring us movies that are clean, entertaining, well put-together, and inspiring!...
