It may seem as if Hewlett-Packard is arriving somewhat late to the Netbook game with its Mini 1000, but the company's business division has offered a similar system, the 2133 Mini-Note PC since the spring of this year. That model scored points with the best Netbook keyboard we've seen and a solid metal construction, but the wimpy VIA processor (and a higher price than other Netbooks) kept it from being a top contender.

This new consumer version has a nearly identical design, but in lightweight plastic (its body is also slightly thinner). The large, comfortable keyboard remains--and is the Mini 1000's best feature--while the CPU has been upgraded from the Via C7-M to the Intel Atom. At $549, our review unit is about $50 more than our self-imposed Netbook price cap, and it surpasses the $500 mark without including a pricey, yet preferred (for a Netbook), solid-state drive. Our model features a 60GB (spinning) hard drive; SSD options up to 16GB are available.

We're dubious of HP's bizarrely...
...

Minnie72Mouse says "does the job" about Compaq Presario 6000 Desktop Computer

The Compaq Presario 6000 is based around the desktop Pentium 4 630 processor to give it very strong performance. This allows the notebook to be compatible with the latest Windows XP 64-bit OS, but sadly it is not an option on the system. This powerful desktop processor also limits the battery life of the computer system over the Pentium M notebook processors. It is matched up with 512MB of PC2-3200 DDR but it would be nice to see a faster PC2-4300 memory come standard.

Storage on the Presario 6000 is average for a desktop replacement. The standard 60GB 4200rpm lacks the space or speed of some of the other desktop replacements but it can be upgraded to a better model. The 8x DVD+/-R DL burner allows the system to be compatible with all major CD and DVD media types currently available.

Graphics have been upgraded slightly over previous X series desktop replacements. The system comes standard with a 17" wide screen LCD display that is commonplace for desktop replacements now. The ATI Mobility...
...

Minnie72Mouse says "It truly is as fast as broadband" about Verizon Wireless USB720 EVDO Rev A USB Modem (Verizon Wireless)

I was skeptical getting another wireless aircard but because I just got a new laptop that did not have a same slot as my old aircard, I had to do something.

I had the Sprint Sierra 580 before and was quite disappointed with it whenever I used it. Having wireless signals at home and a work, I almost always had Broadband speeds except for when I used my aircard on the go. It was like going back to dial up. Such a drag. I was stuck in a 2 year contract so I couldn't do much.

Switching to Verizon Wireless and getting this new aircard, the USB720, has been a huge change for the better. I get super fast speeds whenever I'm on the go and the coverage area is like my Verizon cell phone, always great. It plugs into my USB port which is nice because I know if I ever switch computers again, I won't have to change aircards. I can even watch streaming video! I am very pleased with this new card and am happy to report that it's been the best!

...

Minnie72Mouse says "Perfect for EVERYONE" about Garmin - Nuvi 360

I've had my Garmin Nuvi 360 a little over a year now and I still love it. It's been great getting me to any destination effortlessly. I'm a realtor and it has been a lifesaver finding the quickest route from house to house. I simply punch all the addresses in before I meet with clients and off I go. I then go to "recent destinations" to select from a list for the next home to drive to.

My favorite part is the Point of Interests that are included. We were inspired to take our first real road trip this past summer and it was a blast. It told me were gas stations, grocery stores and all types of attractions were. The Rest Areas were also a great help. It made driving around in a foreign place a lot less scary. The Point of Interests also lists a phone number so making a reservation for a restaurant was a breeze too.

The touch screen and so user friendly and the voice prompts are easy to understand while driving.

I Luv It!
...

Minnie72Mouse says "Best of the Series" about Live Free or Die Hard

Often sequels get worse and worse as the numbers get higher but not in the case. The 12 year break didn't matter at all and the action, stunts and special effects were awesome. In my opinion, the fourth installment to the Die Hard series was the best of them all. Bruce Willis does a great job wth his sidekick Justin Long.

In fact, it was so great that it inspired my family to spend the day doing a Die Hard marathon watching all 4 movies in a row. What a great time that was.

The DVD is great because you can watch the theatrical version or the unrated one. This is definitely one of the best movies I've seen in a long time and I do watch a lot of movies.
...

Minnie72Mouse says "Fabulous but it is a bit bulky and heavy." about Toshiba P205-S6347 Laptop

I haven't had many problems so far. It's hard to tell whether it's the laptop or the Windows Vista that causes the occasional glitch but I haven't found a computer yet that doesn't need a restart every now and then.

It's a bit bigger than I planned to buy but I love the huge 17" True Bright Screen not to mention the 10-Key Number pad for faster data entry. I guess it's a give a take. The fingerprint reader is great for passwords like online banking.

It has a DVD writer as well as an HD-DVD Player but I haven't found an easy way to hook up the laptop to my TV yet. Looks like I'll need a new TV that has more inputs in the back.

Tim to go shopping!

...

Minnie72Mouse says "Cutting Edge Technology!" about Apple - iPod Touch

This is the 3rd iPod in my house. I just got this for my birthday last month and I just love it. My son has the 60 GB iPod Video and my husband has the new iPod Nano. It took a little time giving up the handy click wheel but the touch function is so much better. I have wireless internet in the house so that's been great to surf the web and play free iPod games. The price is a bit steep for only 16 GB. I'm use to having 60 GB so I really had to cut back the songs I have and just keep my favorites which was a bummer. Overall, it's great if you can afford it....

Everytime we get a new game, it continues to impress me even more. I have owned many different game systems and this one is the best so far by a mile. The games are so much fun with the way the controllers are so interactive and easy to use. I love it and can't get enough. I'm on the edge of my seat for some of the titles scheduled for release. Even my husband plays and he's not a gamer at all. Some of my favorite games are Mario Party 8, MySims, & Metriod Prime Hunters Corruption. I can't wait for Harvest Moon, Super Mario Galaxy and Guitar Hero. ...
