Quick View: I love trendy high heeled boots but in New York State, wearing them in the dead of winter isn't a very smart move. I have several pairs of cold weather boots but couldn't resist indulging in the Skechers Women's Blitzer Boots. I like that these are flat boots with lots of furry warmth and they are low so I can wear skinny jeans or boot cuts ones over them. They're super warm and comfy!

These ankle boots are made from sueded material and faux fur. The entire inside, including the foot bed, is furry and you can wear them with or without socks. They slip on with side openings and you can tie the sturdy laces as tightly as you want. I have skinny little ankles so I have to really tighten these up if I want them to be tight around them. I can loosen the laces up for a wider boots that fit my leggings or skinny jeans.

Looking for Christmas presents my husband and I were trying to decide what would be a good gift for a dear woman on our list. Then we saw an infomercial for the NINJA MASTER PREP by EURO-PRO. The deal looked so incredible that we were all set to try getting one, but then remembering how many times we have been misled by TV infomercials, I decided to do some investigating first.

After reading what I could find of the pros and cons of the NINJA MASTER PREP FOOD PROCESSOR, we decided that we would try one for ourselves and then we would know if it would make a good present for others if we liked it.

Over the last few years I've converted most of our lamps and lighting fixtures over to Compact Fluorescent Lights. With the exception of a small number of ornamental lights and lights controlled by dimmer switches, the conversion is almost complete. The savings, in terms of our electric bill are both noticeable and impressive. And, of course there is that intangible reward knowing that I'm doing something good for the environment.

So several months ago when I got the opportunity to try convert the few remaining R40 Floodlamps with GE's Dimmable Compact Fluorescent Floods I didn't hesitate.

Theses CFL Floods appear virtually identical to any other and comfortably fit any high-hat meant to accept an R40 bulb. At 1300 lumens, they provide just a bit less light at full brightness than the 100W bulbs they are replacing. My daughter was SO excited to finally have a chance to see the BARBIE AND THE THREE MUSKETEERS, having been a fan of the original story. She has enjoyed most of the Barbie movies and I have even found some of them to be entertaining and rich.

This time, however, I have to say that next to the Christmas Carol which was one of the WORST BARBIE Movies I have ever seen, BARBIE AND THE THREE MUSKETEERS was substandard. The movie was poorly scripted and dumbed down in contrast to the higher level of entertainment value of previous Barbie movies such as the Dancing Princesses, or the Swan Lake movies.

My daughter, who is 10, likes the movie because of the colors, action, and the storyline, but she is annoyed at the inconsistent music and the cheesy lines that are really outlandish and lack substance.

I have to say that I am not enjoying this movie- and I gave it two chances. The music goes from traditional classical style music from adventure movies to really lousy modern music that brings...

We have this cat.

Well, rather, there is this cat that owns us.

You see, the neighborhood cat that our little daughter used to hang around with when she was little was killed by coyotes. Since that day, she has prayed for another kitty. Since we really could not accomodate an indoor cat, every night our little girl would pray for God to bring a kitty to us-the perfect kitty. My husband would tell her that when the time was right, God would bring the right kitty to our door.

Apparently July of 2009 was the right time.

Tom showed up at our door completely terrified and starving. He would not come near any of us, but would run away shaking terribly and we did not know if he would ever come out of it. After a few weeks of patient attempts, Tom decided that he would adopt us as his family.

Because he is an outdoor cat, he apparently has never used a litter box. At night when it is cold, he hates to go outside to go potty, so when we brought in a nice perfect litter box, Tom decided...

Quick View: I like Bath & Body Works' hand soaps and I recently bought nine different scents and types (I had a great coupon!). One that I bought was Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Winter Candy Apple. Normally I'm not a fan of the deep cleansing soaps and go for the moisturizing ones but I didn't see this scent in the moisturizing hand soap area so I bought the deep cleansing one. It is VERY sweet but doesn't seem to dry my hands out like the other deep cleansing soaps from BBW.

This blush is baked and has a somewhat uneven texture. It isn't one color throughout. There are shades of deeper apricot and lighter all swirled within the compact. I like that because blush really shouldn't be one flat color. A little variation makes skin look better and the blush look more realistic.

When I first saw the Smashbox Holiday Palette in the Ulta Brochure, I thought to myself, "Yep, another cosmetic company dumping their junk into a cheap palette and pawning it off for Christmas."

One of the most useful tools for any homeowner to have is a heavy duty stapler. Chances are you can find one in your garage or basement. For many years, Arrow Brand has led the market in this type of tool. Big and chrome plated, I have a couple hanging on the wall.

I am so new to this that I didn't understand why nothing was coming out of this very thin pencil-type tube. I was told I was using the smudging side. Ok so back to the mirror in the store and I used the correct side which has a very small crayon type point - well it isn't pointy like an eyeliner that you would sharpen with a pencil. Clinique Quickliner for Eyes is more rounded.

Each side has a different cap. If you accidentally put the clear cap on the color side you'll squash the color and lose some of the Liner. I looked at the price and since I was in a rich mode I didn't...

This body butter comes in a 6.7 ounce squat tub. It is thick and rich but not quite as thick as body butters from The Body Shop and Bath & Body Works. It has definite lemon notes with a sweet sugary fragrance as well that makes it both tart and sweet at the same time.

I'm not certain where I read this, but in one survey or another I remember hearing that the average homeowner has 3 empty spray bottles under his or her sink. It makes sense to me. You know, those empty spray bottles of Windex, Glass Plus, etc.

Most of us know that these bottles can be rinsed out and used for general purposes. We've been doing it for years and I bet many of you have been too.

What could be better than a free spray bottle to use when you need something to mist your indoor plants, moisten your clothes when ironing. Let's face it, they come in handy.

Down here in South Florida, where the sunshine is relentless, most of our driveways are made of poured concrete instead of the much more common ashphalt used in northern locations.

In a climate such as ours concrete offers advantages. Regardless of the temperature it doesn't soften and it doesn't require annual sealing. for the most part it is maintenance-free.

If it has a drawback at all it is that it shows stains prominently. Chief among these stains are oil drips from the bottom of your car. Look at virtually any S. Florida driveway and you immediately notice this dark stain.

In our particular case we also have a problem with leaves dropped by our Black Olive Trees. The Black Olive is one of S. Florida's prettiest trees (not saying much), but they do have the ability to stain concrete driveways and walkways badly.

At least twice a year I can count on receiving a notice from our Home Owners' Association that our driveway and walkways look pitiful and that if we don't clean them...

It didn't help my very dark inherited circles but I have a feeling it will be effective for those battling mild or even moderate ones. Nothing will REMOVE shadows and circles but this product at least doesn't cost a fortune to try to lighten them up some!

Because I have battled dark circles since I was a kid, I quickly can spot things that give away how effective a product really will be even before I buy it. Of course, that often doesn't stop me from trying new products in case they actually DO work. This serum's packaging and advertising says: "Light diffusing properties help reduce the appearance of Dark Circles."

Reduce the APPEARANCE OF dark circles. In other words, this doesn't actually work to remove the circles, just make them less noticeable by reflecting light away from them. But even that would...
