McPenguin55 says "Pricey garbage!" about Swiffer WetJet Starter Kit®

I got the Wet Jet almost as soon as it hit the market. I only have my husband and myself to pick up after, and it seemed a good product to keep things tidy around the house. I was willing to go the extra cost, as it looked like it would simplify my floor cleaning routine... after all, there's just the two of us. Wrong! Not only does the battery run out so quickly, but I found that the motor that squirts the cleanser is unreliable! I had one that quit on me, and after trying to fix it with new batteries and failing, I realized it wasn't the batteries, it was the motor. The eternal optomist, I went out and got another one. Phooey! I didn't have that one working for more than 2 weeks, and it broke down, too. New batteries didn't work, and I felt really dumb for having gone out and bought another. I am back to a mop and pail. It might be more fuss, but at least I know that there are no batteries to wear out and no motor to break down. I have found only one use for my disfunctional...

McPenguin55 says "Top Quality service, great low rates." about Geico

My husband and I have had GEICO insurance for over 40 years, and I love them. We have had many claims over the years, and they always treat us so well. I particularly remember the time my car was stolen from the Subway parking lot, and I was devastated. They paid for a rental car for me for a month, after which the car would be considered unrecoverable and we would have claimed for total loss. When it was recovered, the police found that it had been used by drug runners. GEICO paid to have the entire car steam cleaned, even the trunk, because of the drugs that had been in it. It was restored to a like-new condition, and I had no trauma but that of having a stolen car. They were very thoughtful and understanding with me. I cannot say enough about them, and we would never switch...

McPenguin55 says "Only place to buy Replacement cartridges" about 123inkjets

I have had my HP Deskjet printer for a long time, and I appreciate that it is still going strong. However, HP replacements are very pricey. I have shopped around, mostly on the internet, since I have found that most brick and mortar stores, even taking S&H into consideration, cannot compare with the online sites for printer ink. I have found just about every place I ordered refilled cartridges sent at least one cartridge that was unusable. I have yet to find any like this at 123Inkjets. They have been as true as any of the expensive HP replacement cartridges I have a. They ship quickly, there are frequent free-shipping sales, and I can count on receiving what I ordered. Surprisingly, not everyone seems to take an order literally. I think some place consider an order a suggestion. Not 123Inkjet. — I would recommend this site to anyone who wants to save money without sacrificing quality in your printer ink. An don't forget to recycle your empty cartridges. —...

McPenguin55 says "Saves money at the grocery store for me..." about coupons.com

I was sorry to see GRAMMAJO had such a bad time with this site. I have used it a lot, and had no problem with downloading the software to print or in printing the coupons. I have saved a bundle using them, and I clip the ones from the paper, too. — The only real problem I have had is that, if I need to replace my ink cartridges, sometimes the barcode on the coupon doesn't print clearly enough for it to scan at the checkout. — I highly recommend this site for anyone whose computer will cooperate with their software. I can strongly commiserate with those of you who have had problems. I have been through these things myself with other sites. Computers can be mean, sometimes. —...

McPenguin55 says "The ONLY site for the book addict." about PaperBackSwap.com

Here is a website disigned by book lovers for book lovers. Two guys who shared a raging passion for reading and found that they had shelves of books they had read and were always buying more, came up with the idea that similar minded people could swap books with each other via website and the US Postal Service. — When you get to their website, you can join right away. There is no entrance fee, and the rules are simple. You have to log in 9 books or more to get started (most people who use this site have maybe 9 SHELVES of books!) After you have logged in your books, you start out with 3 credits. Each credit is good for one book through the club. You can browse by author, title, genre, or even age groups for childrens books. I have found this to be easier to navigate than Amazon.com for books I want. — After you have made a selection, the person next in line to ship that book out is notified, and they will respond whether or not they can ship the book to you. Sometimes a...

McPenguin55 says "Wonderful Program - Free stuff" about BzzAgent

I learned about the Bzz Agent program through a forum on another website I frequent. It intrigued me, so I joined up. I love being able to get free products, and then pass out coupons and informations to people! I am always on the lookout for new products, I am usually the first person I know to try new things in the market. While most of the products I have Bzzed are new only in the sense that they are a new product line of a familiar company or simple a company that's been out there a while and wants a bit more exposure, I have yet to come across one I couldn't honestly recommend to a friend. — I am a person who loves to talk to other people. Much to my husband's despair, I have been known to strike up a half hour conversation with a complete stanger in a store. I have lots of family and friends, and I think these things make for a good Bzz Agent. — I highly recommend joining up if you think you can honestly put the word out on the street for these products....

McPenguin55 says "great computer, great customer service" about Dell Inspiron 530s PC Desktop Computer

Our old computer died an ugly death last summer. It was 7 years old, so I couldn't complain. We had purchased it from Del, and loved the customer service and the quality of the computer, so we decided to go with them again. My husband and I are retired and on a comfortable but fixed income, so our son (a computer professional) suggested we go through the Dell Outlet to look for something. — I went online and searched through all the desktops available, and we decided we would be going with the Inspiron 531. I called Dell and spoke with a sales rep about what we wanted. She advised me that we would want 2 GB of memory since we would be getting Vista, and she found a really great one with all the things we would need. She said she could only hold it for 15 minutes (Company policy with the outlet), so I asked her to hang on while I talked to my husband about it. (He holds the pursestrings, while I want all the bells and whistles.) He agreed that we could go for it if we kept...

McPenguin55 says "Horrible Attitude" about Comfort Suites - Ocean City, MD

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay near Ocean City, MD in order to spend time with our son and his family as well as my brother and his family, who were all camping for a long weekend at Assateague Island National Seashore, nearby. I am not a camping type, and this proved to be an ideal set-up for us all last year when we did this. I went online through the various travel sites to search for a hotel that was as close as possible to Assateague Island, and provided the comforts we wanted. I found the Comfort Inn was ideally located, and we are Choice Privileges members, so I went to their website and booked us a room for a great deal. We originally booked for only 2 nights, as we didn't realize that our son had decided to take an additional days vacation to extend the stay. When I found out, I went back online and changed the reservation to 3 nights, and was pleased that we had found such a bargain. Now, I should add that this was for a Friday and Saturday night...
