When you hear "Operation Purple camp" you should think: Kids Serve Too! The National Military Family Association's Operation Purple camp is a time for having fun, making friends, and reminding military kids that they are the Nation's youngest heroes.

As an organization dedicated to serving military families, the National Military Family Association recognized the need for more resources to support military children. In 2004, the Operation Purple program was created as a way to help military children struggling with the stresses of war.

These free, week-long, overnight camps are open to all military children ages 7-17. The program aims to help military kids experience carefree fun while also learning coping skills to deal with deployment-related stress and fostering relationships with other children who know what they are going through. Operation Purple camp allows kids to gain confidence by learning to be stewards of the community and of the environment.

Trudeau insulated water bottle 14 oz/400ml, you get 16oz if it is filled completely to the top. It is safe for food but is not recommended for the dishwasher or the microwave. I bought this water bottle because it claimed to keep things cold for a long time and didn't create condensation on the outside due to the double layer, with a pop out straw. It was also purple and only $7.99.

It did keep things cold for a little longer than the rest of my water bottles but I didn't find it long enough to get excited about. It was nice that you didn't have the water build up on the outside. The grips on the side was nice when I was hiking it didn't slip around like the others. I liked the soft pop out straw it made it easy to hike with.

So why two stars then? It was better than most of my water bottles but I am a heavy duty hiker and camper. This water bottle only lasted four days before it had a crack and then a break on the outer layer. This was disappointing since my other...

Nike+ Sensor was added to my tools to keep me healthy, June 2009. I love it and use it all the time! I was more excited when I found out that I didn't have to have the special shoe.

Pros:

The Sensor talks to you through your iPod, you can even pick a male or female voice. You set it up with the information you want it to tell you.
It is small and there are rubber cases available that will attach your sensor to any shoe.
There is a sleep button so when it is not in use you are not using up all of the power.
If you are a marathoner and can't use a MP3 player in your runs there is an arm band that will collect the data for you without the music.
It is cost effective and a replacement sensor is only $20 bucks on Amazon.
Comes with a free personal trainer website that stores and tracks your workout log. It has challenges and fun things that you can do against other people or yourself.

iPod Nano, 8G, Purple; I got mine as a rebuild, it was a gift to go with the Nike+ Sensor (I also wrote a review on that.) I have to say it is a handy thing to have. It is small, compact, light and easy to walk with. I travel a lot and my cell phone battery doesn't last long so having an MP3 player, my Nano is nice and I usually have to charge it every other day to every two days. There are also games on it and you can store photos and videos. I haven't watched videos on it but I hear it drains the battery life quickly. And I thought it just played music.

When I walk or run I use the Nike+ Sensor and have yet to find an arm band that fits the Nano when the receiver is plugged into the bottom. That is a little annoying but I just turn it upside down and live with it. The screen flips when you flip the Nano around so that isn't a problem. The sound is great and I am picky about sound. I go to live concerts and use to sing myself so I can be a little judgmental. ...

I was camping and had a small but deep cut and I was told to use bandages and antibiotic ointment. I went to the store and saw Band-Aid had it all in one. Less I had to carry with me in my pack the better and they came in cool colors. Band-Aid brand is one I have used all my life and always been happy with.

But this time was different. The bandages were not sticky enough, I had to by medical tape to keep them in place. On the box it says "helps prevent infection" but if dirt and liquids are getting under the not very sticky bandage that statement can't really be true. Because I had to buy the medical tape to keep them in place they cost more than just the bandages themselves.

They are right it is a no mess application I did see that there was Antibiotic ointment and that it was doing its job. I am sure it did heal faster. But I still had to have more products than just the bandages.

So not real excited and probably won't get them again.

My Mary Kay Consultant heard I was going to be working at Operation Purple Camp with 80 kids 14 staff. She knew I wasn't going to have time to do my normal skin care routine and suggested Mary Kay Facial Cleansing Cloths. They were a dream come true! I was able to wet one in the shower or at the sink clean and go; which is perfect when you have twelve girls and two showers.

They come in a package of 30 but they are large and I cut mine in half as I use them so I really get 60. This was a suggestion my consultant had for me. I am all for saving money and getting more for less. I used my eye make-up remover as usual because I didn't want to use the cloth to rub my eyes. Although I am told you can. All you do is wet the cloth and as you wipe your face clean it foams up. Run it through the water again the foam is gone and you can wipe the cleanser off, moisturize and go to bed or throw on your make-up.

My skin seemed a little drier than normal when using the 3-1 cleanser...

I am a Paraeducator for a local school district, Co-President of the Tumwater Association of Paraprofessionals, member of the Olympia Moose Lodge, Spark People user and all around busy person. I am a music lover and I hike or walk a lot. Enjoy showing everyone what I see while I am out and about. I also enjoy taking pictures of my service dog Winston when we go new places. So that is me.

I saw emusic's ad and thought well hey 25 free songs and 7 day trial. Seems like worth a try. Boy was that a mistake and a half. The songs never downloaded and there were very few songs I even wanted.

I quickly canceled my account, and it was less than 24 hours. I am sorry but I don't have the time and energy to deal with a website that doesn't want to run a productive one. I couldn't even sample the songs most of the time.

The only plus was the selection of audio-books. I picked on free book Angels and Demons but that was not enough to keep me.

There are so many more music sites that are 100 times better that it isn't even worth the bother.

The Tumwater Veterinary Hospital is staffed with wonderful caring people. There are two vets at this clinic and I trust them both with all of my animals. Their prices are comparable to others and I have health insurance and it is easy through them.

Currently I have Winston Churchill an English Springer Spaniel who will be 10 years old May 18, 2009. He sees them for everything from flee treatment to severe medical needs. I always leave feeling like I know my options and I know what is going on. He will be going in for an extra check up because a heart murmur was detected. I know he will get the best care. I also know if they say he needs to be on medication it is true. Because if it ends up being stress and nothing is really wrong they won't try to sell me something I don't need.

Freckals my late Brittany was put to sleep at the age of 17 and a half. Her quality of life was so bad and it effected myself, mom, dad and brother. We cared for her since she was 2 weeks old. ...

I am more of a business traveler than a for fun traveler. I stayed at the Double Tree outside Universal Studios for the NEA National ESP Conference. I have a service animal that is used for mobility.

Check in was great! Everyone was friendly and greeted both myself and my service dog with respect and a happy face. Check in was simple. Front desk was able to answer any questions I had.

I had one problem with a security guard who gave me the 3rd degree about my service dog. Even the other members of the group were insulted/hurt by his questions and the sound in his voice. I suggest continued training on how to speak to and work with travelers with service animals. Over all not bad.

The food wasn't good at all. It was hard to eat it and wasn't filling. Several of the people at my table agreed. Next time it is held there I know I will be eating on my own. There is a nice food court to eat at.

The hotel itself is beautiful on the inside! Outside it is average hotel looking. ...

I bought this great oven the day after Thanksgiving, 2008. I live in an RV and don't always, barely ever have propane. My microwave bit the dust and I decided I would like to be able to cook more.

This was the best choice I have ever made. I use it every day and have great healthy food. I even cook my dog's treats in this oven. I know he is happy that I am baking again. It is simple to use and I love the fact that it turns itself off when the timer goes off.

This is a great item to have in any kitchen be it in an RV or in a house.

I have had this book for awhile and I have always been able to find something to make for everyone. I call on this book especially when I have a last minute gift I have to make for someone.

This is one of those stitching books that I would be lost without. It is good for beginners and advanced stitchers. The patters have clear and colorful set up that is easy to read. My mom who has a hard time seeing enjoys using this book. A must have for any collection!

I use to be a huge coffee drinker. I have since tried to switch out my coffee with tea. I like tea, all kinds and didn't really think the tent tea bag would make a real difference. I was wrong. With the tent tea bag you get a better flavor. You can actually see bigger pieces of the herbs, fruit and other natural items in the tea.

The Green Tea with Mandarin Orange Lipton smells great and tastes better. It is very relaxing and soothing. It tastes more citrus than green tea so if you do not like the taste/bitterness of green tea don't worry. You will like this one. In addition to the flavor and fragrance you will be getting 80mg of antioxidants per serving.

Another bonus is that if you go to Lipton's website you can find coupons for this and other teas. I have purchased this tea many times for nearly nothing. I wait until they go on sale, use the coupon(s). If you buy it without coupons or sale prices, the price is comparable to other teas.

I have had many breeds in my life that I have rescued. All of the dogs I enjoyed and loved but English Springer Spaniels have a special place in my heart. Winston is my current Springer you will find pictures below and in my profile. Winston is a certified Therapy dog and loves to work. He does not hunt but if you give them a job instead of hunting they will put their whole self into that job.

I have added the information of the breed below and please read before you adopt a fur baby of the Springer. Make sure you do have the time and drive to have your springer apart of the family (pack). Because that is what you will have to do to get the best out of your English Springer Spaniel. Love them and they will love you unconditionally.

This show is another wonderful addition to the Stargate family. Special effects are great. the characters are fun and well written, they all compliment each other. As much as it is a made up story line it is believable. It leaves you thinking, maybe this really could happen.

It is well worth the time turn the TV on for and purchase the DVDs when each season is done. If you like SciFi you will enjoy this show. I have been following this show since the first one.

CrossStitcher is a magazine from Britain and is also sold here in the United States. I have purchased several Issues through the years. I have never been disappointed. The projects are strong in quality. I rarely see a project I wouldn't use.

I am subscribing to this magazine I believe it is that good. No matter if you are a beginer or advanced in skill you will always have something to do. I have attached pictures of December Issue and projects I have done.

I have had my JBL Creature Speakers for 3 years or maybe 4. They were a Christmas present from my brother and I loved them then and still love them now.

They are easy to use. I usually hook them up to my laptop for watching movies and listening to music. I also attach my iPod Shuffle (generation 1) up to them.

The sound that comes out from them is great! Nice strong, clear sounds that really makes my down time (what little I have) enjoyable and relaxing.

The quality of the product is fantastic! They have lasted this long and have been moved from three different homes. I have a hard time staying in one place. I expect I will have them for at least another 4 years if not longer.

Funny side note is the shape...everyone who sees them for the first time get a kick out of the shape. I say it looks like the ghosts off of PacMan or Darth Vader's helmet (specially if you have a black set.) Mine are white. The other colors I know of are blue (kind of a denim), red, silver and grey. ...
