This was the worst hotel we'ved stayed at in the last ten years !

We were participating in an eco kayak tour and this hotel was listed as near the launch site. We were given a discount rate since we were a part of the "Save the Manatee Club".

The hotel's website didn't display how really decrepit the hotel was. We didn't mind old and clean, but this was terrible. No wonder AAA didn't list it on their hotel website.

Thank goodness we only stayed here one night ! When we first entered the room the carpet looked worn and dirty. The furniture in the front room looked very worn and smelled musty. The door to the bathroom was wooden and had a large circular piece of wood missing at the bottom. The sink basin in the main room had a crack in the porcelain. The pillows were flat. The bathroom towels were scratchy and thin. The air conditioner rattled. Not a very restful night.

To top off the stay in the unpleasant room, the front desk charged us twice! They never backed out...

My boyfriend and I dined here for my birthday. The food was delicious and the wait staff attentive. We ordered the chicken parmigiana, chicken marsala, and a side of Italian sausage. Both came with a small house salad. The sauce on both entrees was superb in flavor. The bread selection was hot and fresh.

We had a restaurant.com certificate and the waiter accepted it without a problem.

My boyfriend and I spent a wonderful relaxing weekend here after our family Thanksgiving dinner. The hotel was set up for the Christmas holiday season. Every time we came in through the door the beautiful Christmas displays were lovely.

We are Marriott members and were given a room on the top floor with a gorgeous view of the Elizabeth River. The room was updated, furnishings very attractive, and the bed very comfortable.

We ate at the wonderful breakfast buffett each morning and enjoyed the ships and boats sailing by.

The staff were pleasant and helpful. We used our Marriott gift cards to pay for the stay and had no problem.

The neighborhood was safe and we enjoyed walking to the local restaurants and bars. One day we took the water taxi to Norfolk and spend the day sightseeing, very conveinent.

We would definitely stay here again.

ManateeSMC says "Refreshing beer !" about Blue Moon Belgian Style White/Wheat ale

My boyfriend and I love Blue Moon (especially with orange slice) ! Blue Moon doesn't taste very wheaty and is refreshing. Goes well with many dinner choices. We look forward to the Spring Ale.

Many of our local restaurants have started carrying Blue Moon on tap and have added it to their happy priced beers.

Unfortunately we discovered that Coors (not so tasty) has become Blue Moon's distributor.

ManateeSMC says "Disappointing timeshare getaway deal" about Celebrity Resorts Orlando - Kissimmee, FL

My husband & I own a timeshare through Interval International. We booked the Celebrity Resorts in Kissimmee, FL as an additional getaway week.

Normally we book the timeshare ahead, pay the "established fee", and then present paperwork upon check-in.

When we and other traveller's went to check-in at the Celebrity Resorts, staff proceeded to tell us that we had to pay an "additional fee of $3.99 per day" ! This was to cover local phone calls, 30 minutes of long distance a day, and the use of "ONE" computer in the lobby. This was irritating, we don't like being nickeled & dimed. I have a cellphone that I use for all my phone calls. After 12 years of timeshare ownership and trading we have never paid these "unidentified at time of booking fees".

The first night at the Celebrity Resort our next door neighbors decided to have a "loud and boisterous" party. We were unloading our car at 9:30 pm. One of the partygoers asked if the noise bothered us and we said "yes". They turned...
