Ma-Goose says "I was completely surprised! " about Chicken Little

Oh, now come on!!! Chicken Little?? The MOVIE??? And where could they go that would surprise us...but slap me silly and call me Stan, I was blown away by the stellar cast of voices, the animation, the firm mesh of friends and family sticking together against the odds, and comedy moves that still get me cackling (pun) into my popcorn after the fifth viewing! Even my stubborn ("I don't watch CG") significant other sat through to the end. — Parents should know ahead of time that this is not the movie to just plop your kids in front of the glowing "babysitter"...supervise your children, especially the little ones. Despite the name, this movie is oozing with mature subjects, anime-violence and could trouble some small viewers. It's a good movie to share with your child in case some of the scenes might be over the top of your childs head or just plain scary. — I didn't expect where the writers took this one but lets just say, it doesn't quite follow the...

Ma-Goose says "Another alien invasion movie?? Yep...bring it!" about Evolution

if you ask me what my favorite sci-fi/comedy is, it's this one! Far fetched? Maybe...but the one-liners remind you that this isn't reality; It's just plain FUN! This is for the b-movie fan in all of us with a far greater enfisess on special effects and saving the world one alien at a time; all while falling in love! They casted some of the funniest, strongest actors in the correct roles. A diverse collection of actors make up the laugh-out-loud vignette into the everyday people getting their swerve on while taking out the bad-ass alien invaders... David Duchovny, (Heartbreaker) Orlando Jones, the token sidekick with a never-ending supply of one liners and gettin' messy with alien goo; Julianne Moore; Gorgeous yet clumsy love interest and most of the intelligence; Seann William Scott, The ambitious, not too bright screw-up (cutie-pie) who also seems to never run out of comedy moves just by "not getting it." — A chunk of...

Ma-Goose says "Great comedy with memorable characters! Tim Allen was ON!!!" about Galaxy Quest

Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Allen Rickman, Tony Shaloub, Sam Rockwell, and Daryl Mitchell are each lending great comedy to this already very funny movie. I didn't know that Sigourney had a funny side and Allen Rickman also had never struck me as the yuk-yuk type but they all stepped up and gave 100% for this wacky Sci-fi comedy with lots of fun special effects and one-liners. — Tim, Sigourney, Allen, Tony, and Daryl were the crew for a campy, TV sci-fi "star Trek" style show for years and then...canceled. Now these type-casted, has-been actors have still not been able to live down their years as the crew of the NSEA Protector. Twenty years later, they do very little besides voice-overs or the occasional grand opening of the local Wal-marts but out of no-where, Tim Allen, the "living in the past", full-of-himself ex-captain of the canceled show meets some unusual fans at a "Space Convention" who insist that he reprise his...

Ma-Goose says "In honor of PattyTherre's list of "HUH?" misenterpreted songs" about misc. music

PattyTherre recently started me thinkin'...damn it. Now the rooms going to smoke up with my brain works. — Yep...got me thinkin' and so I thought of a couple of those songs that I sang as a kid, teen and even adult that I just boogied to and didn't delve deeper for the interpretation hiding in those seemingly innocent lyrics... — 1. Simon and Garfunkle's? "Puff The Magic Dragon"...sweet and innocent as I was, I actually believed that it was all about a young boy and his imaginary pet dragon. Damn it...some pot smokin' hippie thought long and hard about it and idolized his vice in a song. (Never meddle in the affairs of dragons because to them, you are crunchy and taste good with catsup.) — 2. Eagles, "Hotel California"...OK, I really thought it was glaringly obvious that this song was about a hotel. Someone once tried to talk me into thinking it was about a guy who get's a bit "peckish for some nookie" and decides to visit a whorehouse but now with a little...

I have become completely addicted to this movie. I can watch this one again and again. (Maybe Denzel Washingon has something to do with that) but at any rate, a brilliant story and acted perfectly by every one on the screen. — The story will have you thinking long after the movie is over and the speculation is time travel. This movie is filled with "What if's" and while it is Hollywood sci-fi, from the start you forget that you are watching a movie and become immersed in the plot and the characters. You find yourself thinking you know what's going to happen next because the name suggest a feeling like this has all happened before...(or George Carlin said once "vuja day...A feeling like this had never happened before.) — Doug Carlin (no relation to George) is played amazingly well by Denzel and instantly captivates you with his heart, loyalty and intelligence. He has a soul as big as New Orleans, which is where a Ferry explodes and Doug, an AFT agent is called in to...

Ma-Goose says "Fresh Sci-Fi Fantasy! Brilliant style! I loved it! " about The Fifth Element, Fullscreen Edition DVD

Not for the realist...if you don't dig sci-fi, leave the room! Totally for the sci-fi lover, this one is fantasy all the way, futuristic adventure and comedy permeate every scene and you won't be bored...it keeps popping! — I read the bio of the writer and discovered that he penned this movie and Milla's entire alien language at 16. Over 800 words in all. Very inventive for a teen. — Bruce plays a cab driver who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time to pick up a beautiful, stranded woman who is anything but typical. Milla has escaped from a military lab compound where she had been held. (Her exit is quite exciting) and when Bruce has this strange fair fall into his lap quite suddenly (and literally), he realizes that nothing is what it seems and his ho-hum world is about to go ba-da-boom!! — So, Milla (with Bruce in tow) knows that she has been born for just one thing...to save the world from a...

This Spielberg film has it all... — action, romance, comedy, adventure, drama, mystery and a unique futuristic spin while not too "out there" that you spend the movie mumbling "Oh, Pa-Leeeeze." — I have to admit that I wasn't looking for a way cool movie with Tom Cruise at the helm, but after watching this one the first time, several things caught me about his performance. He did his homework when it came to delving into the character he's playing, and he carries the scenes really well. While some of his other works could be deemed a bit shallow, this one is strong and powerful enough to grab you in the very first scene. The story spins around a new kind of crime stopping. Tom plays a police chief who works in Precrime, an inventive type of police work that he helped design...identifying crime before it happens and stopping it before it's committed. Tom does a great job as a grieving father who lives everyday...

In case of confusion, this review is for the movie version of L.I.S with William Hurt and Mimi Rogers as the Robinson parents and some of Hollywood's worst actor-actresses playing the rest of the crew...the one that really surprised me was Gary Oldman as Dr. Smith but of course, as a method actor immersed in his role, he is supposed to surprise us...in this case, the surprise came in the form of a eye splinter of a acting job. I speak for all of them basically. I knew going in that Heather Graham can't act...she's for show, and Matt LaBlanc is not built for speaking lines either, and so no surprise there, but I expected much more from William Hurt and Mimi Rogers. I probably don't have to give you the storyline (the title says it all) and everyone over 25 has seen the TV show at least once. I know Iexpected this movie to be in touch with the story but not with the time in which it was aired, but as far as cast embracing their rolls,...

I must have been throwing away ten dollars in produce every week...what a waste; until I saw a commercial for those Sally Hanson? Green bags which are quite similar to these. I found them super inexpensive (on ebay-of course), and gave them a try. OK so here's how it happened. — I started with some lettuce... — i wanted to really check this out before going full hog and using more of the bags than I needed to in case i had to return them. After all, I wasn't sure if what I saw on the commercial was on par...it may have been quite possible that they had found a sucker and past a few camera tricks past my watchful eye. If you haven't seen those ads...produce is put into the green bags and some left out, and timelaspsed to show you that the green bags keep your food fresh five times longer...sounded kinda voo-doo to me! But it worked...no lie, my lettuce lasted 5 weeks and every time I opened the bag, it was just as crisp as the...

I don't normally gush about a perfume but holy COW, this stuff smells great! — I was working in a retail store as a Customer Service Rep and standing at the door assisting people to find their item's location in the store. A woman walked past me and in mid-sentence, both myself and the person I was speaking to froze with our nose in the air trying to get another whiff! We both immediately sought out the woman with the beautiful smell and asked her what it was. "Mackie by Bob Mackie" she replied..."but you can only get it on-line. My husband gets it for me as an anniversary present every year and it lasts me that long. I get compliments all the time and I love it! The scent lasts all day, too...how many perfumes can do that?" — I thanked her and i couldn't wait to get to my computer and order some. I found some of this good stuff for (shock) under $18 in a big 3 ouncer (on ebay) and now I can't tell you how often people stop me to ask me what smells SO GOOD!...

Well, first off...your might find your mind paralleling "What Lies Beneath" in this sleeper paranormal thriller. While it has all the earmarks, it still manages to keep you entertained. A bit cliche at times and even a bit predictable, it has some great scare tactics that surprise you once in a while...after all, you never know what to expect when you have ghosts milling around carrying a 20 year grudge........ — Sooooo, the set up. Plagued by disturbing visions and nightmares, children's author Claire Holloway played by Gabrialle Anwar decides to take a sabbatical, and checks into the (haunted) Rose Marsh Farmhouse. Naturally she doesn't get the rest she's looking for when when two angry ghosts show up on the scene...and everybody she meets in town is a bit decidedly creepy in their own right.....(of course, I don't know how she thought she was going to rest anyway since she had seen the house in her nightmares, terrifying voices in the midst...

I first saw this movie way back in the late 80's and then again in 2006 and I found it even funnier the second time around having a "slightly" higher maturity. — Anytime you pair up two of comedies greatest, (Tim Conway, Don Knotts) you get drop dead fun and hysterics and here is one of the funniest movies featuring these two comedy geniuses. — Don and Tim play Scotland Yard inspectors Winship and Dr.Tart who are brought into a murder mystery at the Morely Manor. Lady and Lord Morely have been killed and the two inspectors have been instructed to go to the manor and follow the clues. While it seems everyone at the manor, surviving family and servants alike don't have motives, still the two bumbling detectives go after every suspect with a fervor which usually ends in them finding that suspect has been murdered and then the bodies start disappearing leaving the detectives at a "dead" end.

I was sitting down to spend a couple hours watching what I thought might be a ho-hum drama, but surprise...an edgy ride with a not so typical ending. In fact, the whole movie is quite atypical and you might find yourself sitting through it again to replay some areas now that you "know" what was behind the scenes throughout! — Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman play rival magicians who go to extreme lengths to "out-do" the other's tricks and when one trick becomes deadly and Bale's wife is killed, the feud goes out of control. While the two continue to battle for supremacy in the world of prestidigitation, Bale develops an amazing trick that can't seem to be explained or "replicated", and Hugh becomes obsessed to find out how it's done even at the cost of his own life! — Smart story and good performances by everyone involved makes this a popcorn, blanket on the knees, candles and wine kind of movie. Find a sitter for this one...I wouldn't let the...

Ma-Goose says "A fun twist on courtroom drama with a hitchcock flair! " about Final Analysis

I was immediatly drawn into the story with Richard Gere as a phyciatrist who is treating a young, beautiful yet troubled woman (Uma Thurman).
Edward Norton...Has he really done anything bad? Well, if he has, this movie in NOT it! I had to watch it again... while it seems like Richard Gere is type casted as an egocentric, rather arogant lawyer (again) who gets to defend the innocent who look very guilty (again), and even with all the earmarks of his work in the suspenceful "Final Analysis" it works in a "here-we-go-again" kind of way. — Edward plays the terrified young alter boy who claims innocence for the murder he is accused of. Found blood covered and no memory of a priest's murder except the memory of there being another person where the attack occured, leaves room for suspicion of his claims of innocence. Richard Gere steps in to defend this studdering, young alter boy who has stumbled into a fight for his freedom and his life. — Look for excellent performances from Laura Linney, Francis McDormand and Angela Bassett...

Need a good laugh in slap-stick style? Try this one on! I laughed until I cried. Ben Stiller (as Derek Zoolander) has us wondering if he was dropped on his head as a child and still you have to love him. Zoolander is a male Model who goes into competition for Male model of the year with another Male model, Hansel (played by Owen Wilson) It's Owen Wilson's F-U to fasion modeling style that makes you enjoy his brand of feather wearing, spandex under-ware sportin' cuteness. But, Uh Oh, Zoolander, not the brightest tool in the shed is brainwashed by a Fashion Guru to kill the Prime minister of Malaysia!

This is a thriller for the people who don't like horror flicks! In the style of Hitchcock with even more edge of your seat scenes and an unusual twist to the end! — In this exciting, supernatural thriller, Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfieffer are a seemingly happily married couple moving into their dream house when things seem to start happening to Michelle's character, Clair. Things moving, ghostly images appearing, and while Clair tries to convince herself and her husband that it's real, she goes to desperate measures as she tries to unravel the mystery of "What Lies Beneath" that seems to haunt her... — Harrison Ford does his best work as a concerned husband...and you don't even see a hint of Indiana Jones.
(SOB) I was a serious, dyed in the wool "Shrekie" when it came down to it (just me, no kids) and wouldn't you know it, I sat for many long months rubbing my hands together in aticipation of Shrek the Third only to be deflated like a worn out beach ball... — I expected some of that great Shrek puns-or tounge-in-cheek, and PLEASE bring back that yummy irreverence that made Shrek (one and two) so fresh and laugh out loud histerical, but nada...barely a chuckle here and there. Obviously the writers wanted to ride the popularity of the first shreks without having anything to do and so storyline, humour, puns, irreverence, and toungue-in-cheek moments were left on the storytellers board if they were ever there to start with. — Don't waste your time...watch paint dry or grass grow instead! Even the kids will fall asleep durring this one...(bonus) but at any rate...a flop! — Sorry "Shrekies", no dice this time out! ...

Ma-Goose says "Vitamins, Great flavours and it's WATER!" about Gatorade - Propel Fitness Water in Melon Flavor

The workouts that I do keep me moving and I get thirsty pretty quickly...so I bring three, personal sized propel fitness waters from home to my gym and stay hydrated in a tasty and health conscious way. There are several great tasting flavours so I can rotate them. Propel doesn't have near the amount of sugar that sodas and the original gatoraids do so I feel better about keeping it on hand. — For a good-for-you pick-me-up, try Propel and keep it moving! —...

Ma-Goose says "Super cute and very inventive story..." about Monsters, Inc.

Yes, I know it's a kids movie and I don't have kids so yeah, I'm caught! I love the Pixar and Disney flicks more than perhaps an adult should...maybe it stems back from not owning a TV in my childhood...but regardless, I now have a love for all CG animations. — I saw the promo for Monsters, Inc in the theater and of course, I couldn't wait until I saw it. Inventive storyline (and adorable creatures) with voices that you know but are still believable as those characters? That's rare...normally I recognize the actor doing the voice-over and it doesn't quite fit, but the casting was brilliantly done for this one. — You don't want to miss the end credits where they have the mock animation out-takes...I love that feature whenever they add them in to a pixar film. — Great for the whole family, and worth seeing over and over! —...
