Lila2004 says "They make you jump through hoops to get points." about MyPoints

I signed up with MyPoints about three years ago, and have been clicking on their e-mails ever since. For just about every e-mail they send you, when you click on the link contained within, it sends you to the website of whatever is being advertised in the e-mail, and your MyPoints account increases by 5 points. — Since most of the rewards are only available for thousands of points, it can take forever to accrue enough points, but once you do, the reward system is fast and easy to navigate, and you get your reward fairly quickly. — I'd recommend this program if you don't mind getting lots of e-mails from them in your mailbox daily, and it taking months to accrue enough points to get anything. Otherwise, steer clear. —...

Lila2004 says "Diet Coke with a bite of lime -- a winner!" about Coca-Cola - Diet Coke with Lime

I tried Diet Coke with Lime as soon as it came out a few years ago, and was instantly smitten. It's the regular Diet Coke, but the bite of lime is subtle and just flows over your tongue. When it's be refrigerated, it's cold and bubbly, and the perfect beverage to quench your thirst. — I've even gotten to the point where if I can't get Diet Coke with Lime when I go out, I'll order a regular Diet Coke and pour some lime juice into it from the small container I've taken to carrying around with me. It just makes the perfect diet drink that much better! —...

Lila2004 says "Not as good as the others in the series, but worthy of reading." about Warlock Enraged

"Warlock Enraged" is another good, solid entry from Christopher Stasheff in the Warlock series. It's not as exciting as the original, and it shows the beginnings of Stasheff's loss of focus on the main pairing of Rod and Gwen as witch and reluctant warlock, but is still quite a good story. The children who become the focus of the later books (and even get their own series lines when they grow up) are still young enough to be cute and un-annoying. — I'd recommend this book as part of the series, but wouldn't read it first. Start with the first Warlock book and read down to this point, but be forewarned that from this point forward, the books become more enamored of the kids and less of Rod and Gwen, until the parents are pretty much side characters who only show up when the kids need help. — ...

Lila2004 says "I haven't watched live tv in years!" about TiVo - Digital Video Recorder

I have four Tivos in my house and can't imagine living without one. Everyone else has listed all the great features that the Tivo has, but no one has yet mentioned the 30-second jump feature. It's a well-known "bug" that isn't documented anywhere in the Tivo literature, but if you ask any Tivo owner, he or she will tell you the 30-second jump is fantastic! With one push of a button, you can jump 30 seconds forward on a recorded show (or a live show if you're watching the 30-minute cache). It can get you through an endless commercial break in just moments. — Here's how you get access to this feature. On your remote, push the following combination: — select, play, select, 3, 0, select — You'll hear the Tivo ding three times and you'll know the 30-second jump feature is now active. Just push the small button that's just above the keypad and to the left of the 'slow' button while watching a recorded show and watch your Tivo skip ahead...

Lila2004 says "Gas guzzler, but holds a *lot*" about Chevrolet Express Extended - 2007

After looking everywhere on the net for reviews of this van before buying it, I couldn't find much, so after doing a lot of research myself, I bought one. It's a 2007 model and works great as a business vehicle, hauling boxes of heavy books. It rides well and handles well, especially at high speeds (very stable on the highway, even with sudden swerves to avoid other cars, deer, etc.) The mileage is horrible even on the highway (19 miles per gallon) and even worse in the city (15 miles per gallon), but if you need to have lots of cargo space without hauling a trailor, this van does a great...
