Lessia says "Real Masterpiece of Suspense!" about Mary Higgins Clark - All Around the Town

What could I say? Mary Higgins Clark did it again. She really pushes buttons we never dreamed we had. I mean, her suspenseful stuff handled indeed with absolute authority. I'll just try to give you the gist of it: when Laurie Kenyon, a twenty-one-year-old student, is accused of murdering her English professor, Allan Grant, she has no memory of the crime. But at the scene of the homocide, her fingerprints are everywhere - on the door, on the curtain, and on the knife used to stab him to death. Shocked and bewilded, Laurie is arraigned on a murder charge. Kidnapped at the age of four and the victim of two subsequent years of abuse and incarceration, Laurie has developed multiple personalities. The host personality, Laurie, is unaware of the others... especially "Leona ", who has written crazed love letters to Allan Grant and has secretly entered his home. Laurie's sister, attorney Sarah Kenyon, takes up her...

Lessia says "Designed to be read at breathtaking speed!" about Stillwatch

As you already know, I love Mary Higgins Clark novels, because she's a master plotter, seeding her books with crimes, clues, and psychopathic quirks that pay off. I think, that she's done it again - written a surefire bestselling thriller " Stillwatch ". I'll try to be brief, but let you know just a little bit about this thrilling plot. The main heroine is Pat Traymore - young, beautiful, talented, and deeply in love with a handsome congressman. She's come home to the glamorous, high-powered world of Washington to produce a TV series. Hee subject: Senator Abigail Jennings, first woman nominated to run for vice-president of the United States. But as Pat delves into Abigail's past, she discovers horrifying facts that threaten to destroy the reputation of a woman on the verge of political triumph. And worse still, nightmare secrets about her own childhood - secrets that are still waiting to destroy her. — I hope, I've sparked your curiosity just enough for you to read this novel. I...

Lessia says "The most triumphant war movie since " Saving Private Ryan "!" about Enemy at the Gates

I love good, insightful movies, and this one really didn't disappoint me. First of all, an all-star cast lights up the screen in this riveting epic hailed as " a vivid dramatization of one of history's titanic turning points ". The year is 1942 and the Nazis are cutting a deadly swath through Russia. Under the leadership of Kruschev ( Bob Hoskins ), the citizens of Stalingrad are mounting a brave resistance, spurred by the exploits of their local hero, Vassil Zaitsev ( Jude Law ). An expert sniper, Vassili's deeds have become legendary - thanks to propaganda produced by Vassili's best friend, a political officer named Danilov ( Joseph Fiennes ). To stop Vassili, the Germans dispatch their best sniper, Major Konig ( Ed Harris ), to Stalingrad. When Vassili and Danilov both fall in love with a beautiful soldier ( Rachel Weisz ), Danilov deserts his friend, leaving Vassili to face his German counterpart alone. As the city burns, Vassili and Konig begin a cunning game of cat and mouse,...

Lessia says "The Best Valentine's Day Gift ever!" about Looking for the Best Valentine's Day Gifts? Cupid is here for you!

I always loved Valentine's Day, just not always was happy, when it came right down to it. Mainly because of the loneliness, I guess. It's not easy to be happy and joyful on a Valentine's Day, when you feel thoroughly alone. But only love can change this state of mind, nothing else. We all need to feel loved and cared for. Then we respond with the similar feelings, trying to do the very best for those, whom we love. And then the size of the gift or its value don't even matter, because the biggest gift of all is LOVE ITSELF. That's your greatest Valentine's Present, don't you agree? Then roses, chocolate and other stuff are just the icing on a cake. Anyway, that's my personal opinion on this matter... and you certainely are entitled to yours. —...

I love Mary Higgins Clark's style, because she quite effortlessly manages to keep your attention throughout the whole novel. I guess, that's why they call her " The Queen of Suspense". All I can say, that she didn't disappoint me and this time, with her wonderful novel " All Through The Night ". You see, I happen to agree with the notion, that concocting a satisfying mystery is as tricky as making a good eggnog: you want a jigger of low proof danger to mix smoothly with a measure of sweet deliverance. My opinion is, that Mary Higgins Clark has whipped up a potable brew once again. Check it out for yourself. I recommend...

I've replaced all the regular light bulbs in our house with GE Soft White Spiral T3 16254 just about two years ago and still could tell you only positive things about it. It's true, these light bulbs are a little more expensive than the regular ones, but in the long run you'll save considerably, believe me. Plus, they last much, much longer, and their soft light is healthier for your eyes. Me personally, I always support what is good for our environment, more productive and less damaging to our atmosphere. I'm confident in this particular product and would love you to try it. You'll be glad, you did, I'm sure of...

Lessia says "Bitter Disappointment" about Laci Le Beau Super Dieter's Tea Bags, Cranberry Twist

Laci Le Beau Super Dieter's Tea Bags, Cranberry Twist sounds so wonderful, so French... and, I might also add, so promising: dietary, healthy, good weight control management beverage. All these expectations lead just to one solid result: extended diarrhea and awefull stomack cramps. This is indeed very good weight control management beverage, isn't it? If you ask me, I would strongly suggest to those, who produce and distribute this product, to put a warning sign right on the label of this particular tea. It sure would save a lot of people from quite a discomfort, don't you agree?...

Lessia says "Wonderful Historic Novel" about Suite Francaise

I've just finished to read " La Suite Francaise " d'Irene Nemirovsky and would like to share my thoughts about this wonderful depiction of war time of 1942 in France. There are plenty of very realistic, sometimes horrific war moments, filled to the brims with human tragedies, love and hatred occurences in thoroughly realistic episodes. I would highly recommend this novel to anybody, who loves meaningful, deep and very skillful writing style. Not only you'll get enriched with knowledge of that particular historic period in Europe, but you'll enjoy tremendously very unusual, intricate and quite complicated love story. I promise...

Lessia says "Very Helpful for your child's development." about Visual Dictionary

I love to use dictionaries in general and any chance I get, I pin-point the importance of their usage to my children. That's why I'm so pleased with the Visual Dictionary, because they are even more appealing both for adults and children. It's a known fact, that human beings in general are very visual creatures. That's why they say, that it is better to see something at least one time than to hear about it hundred times... maybe, I'm paraphrasing just a little. My point is, that the Visual Dictionary especially has a tremendous power to assist the educational development of our children. I'm sure, most of you would agree with me on that. As to me, I feel very strongly about...

My son and I, we love to go to the movies together. Therefore, if we both are fortunate enough to agree on liking the same one very much, we consider it a great success... in another words, we've spent our time together very productively, learned something important. After seeing " Bonds of Friendship ", my 11-year old son started to ask me all kinds of questions about the value of true, real friendship and how to discern it, do not neglect or miss it in life. I tried my best to explain to him, how real friends act and what they're supposed to do in different situations and so forth... But my point of the matter is, that we definitely need more movies like this one, which would make our children think and wonder about lessons of life, which would lead to similar conversations between parents and their children, don't you agree?...

" Finding Nemo " is the best animation story for both children and their parents, you could possibly come up with. Matter of fact, it starts with the child-parent relationship and the whole story line is rapped up around it, till the very end. And all the other very interesting characters just participate in that story, enhansing and enriching it by their colorfullness and sometimes even charming peculiarities. And what about their voices?!!! Ellen Degenerous has done just simply wonderful voice animation of Nemo, hasn't she?
I've just read " If tomorrow comes ", by Sidney Sheldon, and should tell you, that both its plot and style of wrighting thoroughly captivated me. I couldn't put this book down, matter of fact, Sidney Sheldon deals in it with injustices of this life and how some people could turn around what has been done to them. I don't want to reveal too much of its plot, because some readers don't like to know up-front the story line, but I would highly recommend this book to the avid readers.
