Judy0309 says "Great gaming computer" about Dell XPS 700

My Husband has this computer. The only problem we've had is the memory needing to be reset, and dust and cat hair getting in the computer. I reset the memory, cleaned out the dust, and cat hair, and added a vent filter to the front, to slow down the dust in the future, but that's pretty hard when it sucks air in so much. Just keep an eye on the front fan, and clean it once a month. It should be fine.

We put Vista on it, and other than Vista sucking, the Dell is handling the pressure very well. Next week I'm putting in new memory to match the 1066 mhz front end bus capability. That in itself is awesome!

Oh, and the lights are pretty!!
...

Judy0309 says "Great for extra storage" about HP Media Center m7160n desktop computer

I love this PC. I've had it for 2 years now, and very few problems at all.

The personal media drive is why I got it in the first place, and I love it. Once it's full, just pop it out and put in a new one. Easy as pie.

It is a bit slow, due to the 1 gig 400mhz memory, but I'm upgrading that to 2 gigs 667 mhz next week. Next I'll get one more gig, if it's needed. It can handle up to 4 gigs, but that's not needed with this chipset. I put in my sons old video card when he got a new one, and it made it much nicer with the 28 inch monitor I got from Dell. This computer can be upgraded to a real sweet lil machine. But what comes stock with it wouldn't make it with all the new technology coming out. It has a lightscribe burner, but I've never used the scribe feature, since I like labels better, but it's a good feature if you don't mind extra cash for the DVD's it needs.

I find that people want computers to work with everything right out of the box, but that's really unreasonable these days. The best...
...

Judy0309 says "Good for low end gaming" about Dell XPS 400

We have 2 Dells in the house. My Son has the XPS 400. We got that one to test Dells service, and gaming capabilities. Even though it is a low end gaming computer, it has worked pretty well. My son needs a higher end one now, but he can play Halo 2 online, with only 1 gig 533mhz memory, so that's a plus. We upgraded the video card though. I'd say the power supply is too low for any further upgrades in that area. Next upgrade is the memory. I'd recommend getting that when you order, but I think they are discontinued now.

Overall, it's a pretty good computer, and Dell service is very good, if you have patience. Just remember to call Tech services before anything.
...

Judy0309 says "Safe, and Rewarding" about MyPoints

I've tried many of the point based sites. Most of them send you stuff you have to give real personal information, like your SS#, and work info. My Points doesn't do this at all.

I do as much online shopping through My Points as possible, and that really adds up the points. After all, I buy stuff online all the time anyway, so it works out well for me.

I love the gift card rewards!
...

Judy0309 says "90% failure rate. There should be a law!" about Hewlett Packard DVD+R rw

HP uses CMC Magnetics as their supplier. The worst of the worst. I wrote them about the 90% failure rate, and they sent me a replacement spindle. But not their own new brand, they sent Imation, which is one step up from the worst. HP should be ashamed, and there should be a law against bad products like this. People who buy blank DVD media know all about the failure rates. It's rampid in this media. Complain every chance you get! We can make a difference!
...
