JCSKcats says "Read your product ingredients and SAVE your life..." about HEINZ, Smucker's, Karo, Wish Bone

As a consumer, and overweight individual I have a small and healthy bit of information which I read recently in a popular news stand magazine regarding HFCS (more commonly referred to as: High Fructose Corn Syrup) that is an ingrediaent found in many household food packages which aids in weight gain (this is where SIZE does matter). Why is HFCS so important to talk about and be aware of? Because High Fructose Corn Syrup is SUGAR and no amount of counting calories, watching Carbohydrate intake, drinking gallons of water, and exercising a minimum of 20 - 30 minutes a day is going to be enough if people are taking in large amounts of HFCS's. This doesn't mean you need to give up Great tasting foods, it just means you want to read more and decide what is healthy for you and your family. — A few more questions...If you buy something because it is low in calories and/or carbohydrates (sugars) because you are trying to live a healthier more balanced lifestyle, why would you buy a...

JCSKcats says "Exciting, Educational, and most Everyone can Enjoy" about The Golden Compass

This is a movie most everyone in a family will enjoy... some areas may be more sensitive to younger children (and visa versa), but approxiamtely 95% of familiy members can and will enjoy this movie. — —...

JCSKcats says "Unjustifiable...it had a lot of moving "moments."" about I Am Legend (2007)

I like Will Smith, I like a lot of the movies / shows he has been in, I beleive he is a good actor with exceptional acting abilities... Someone did not do Mr. Smith nor his co-actors justice when they released this movie (especially since it wasn't in theaters very long before hitting rental shelves). — I beleive there is a good story to be told in this movie, but someone either released an unfinished piece of work, or they edited out way to much and kept too many slow pieces of useless information, and the ending wasn't all that great either. At least it had a lot of moving...

JCSKcats says "What could possibly go wrong in a BEE's life?" about Bee Movie

Once you get past "knowing" whose voice belongs to which bee, and some of the funnier portions of the movie, you are inundated with what can really go wrong in a Bee's life. AND since there is a Bee issue in the news recently, this movie is really geared to the adults making an enviromental change, while trying to educate children on why life as they know it has a set of "checks and balances" that can be easily imbalanced by not having all the information/players in their places. —...

JCSKcats says "They've done it again!" about Alvin and the Chipmunks

I suggest watching the "extra's" after watching the movie... and for those of you who know the true/real history behind Alvin, Simon, and Theadore's creator...you will enjoy the little extra's incorporated into the movie. This is another semi-educational movie for children (limits, beleiving in self and others, listening to adults / friends, etc) and adults alike. There is a lot of humor on all levels for every development stage in the family. The commercials and trailers have not done this movie justice... Watch with an open mind, and try not think of the cartoon / animated drawn versions soem of us have grown up with over the years... this one is unique in its own generational viewing and still keeps those of us from the earlier days awe...

JCSKcats says "Interesting..." about The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep

Brings a new perspective with some historical information as to what and why the Loch ness monster has been so hard to capture on "real" filmography. It has a good plot, and good acting. Plus the scenery is gorgous for the era it is suppose to be filmed in. — My only suggestion is that young children understand that there "is" some loud noises assocciated with this film that could hurt their hearing / freighten them a little (depending on each child's sensitivity level). —...

JCSKcats says "Has small self-educational value for kids" about Surf's Up

As an adult it had some slow and boring parts in it. The Penquins are animated better then real penquins even though some were drawn similar to "real" penquins as possible (I would love to see a "real" HI surfing penquin with another species of penquins - NOT in a Zoo though). I believe everyone who watches this will come out with some educational value...

JCSKcats says "Tried to hard to balance Disney Classic w/new Genre" about Enchanted

I like Patrick Dempsey enough to rent this movie when it came out, and the lead actress is very good too! I was disappointed though with the "hype" of it being one of the best. Growing up on Disney, and being able to pinpoint which Disney "classics" were woven into this one was about the only highlight of the whole movie (besides P.D.). For those of you who didn't grow-up with Disney (classic, Snow White, Cinderella, Bambi, etc) you wont notice the difference (IMHOO) as not being one of the better Disney movies possible. Enchanted's crew should have kept it either animated or "real" film, and not made the princess out to be a clever ditz caught between the two worlds. — On a happier note*** The ending is mostly Classic Disney**** —...

JCSKcats says "Best service we've had w/o xtra delivery fee..." about ProFlowers.com

After reviewing a few other online florists, the decision to purchase a live Rose Plant for my mother-in-law in Arizona, became a whole lot easier when delivery was guarenteed without and extra fee for early - mid morning delivery (after all it was near 85* when the package was delivered). — Once my MIL relized she had a package on her front porch she was very happy to have something in her new home that she had at all her older homes, and she felt much better to have received it when part of her family is now living more then five hundred (500) miles from her again. —...
