Hugh says "Don't drive fast without it" about Valentine One - V1 Radar Detector

Valentine 1 radar and laser detector. I have owend many over the years. This one has the best range and 360 degree coverage. A lot of cool feathures and the software can be updated over the internet. Most inmportant is that it has great range even around curves. — Drive safely and defensively but don't drive fast without one of these. —...

Hugh says "Sailing, Flying, Skiing, Hiking and other adverturers, don't lea" about Breitling - Emergency

Any watch will tell time. Why spend more than $14.95. If you are into adventure, sometimes out of bounds and want to be able to signal for a rescue in an emargency t over the global 121.5 emergency frequency his may be worth the price. 220 mile range to help rescue services triangulate. Of course it does all the other chrongraph stuff that you might need but so will the $14.95 watch. The titanium one is very tough, bulky but still light enough to be comfortable. I have had if for 6 years. Takes a beating, still looks good and works fine. Telling time is cheap, enabling people to locate you through the Breitling Emergency Watch EPERP...

Hugh says "Makes commercial radio sort of like B&W small screen TV with 3 c" about Sirius Satellite Radio

From NPR, Howard Stern and a huge assortment of music, it is hard to impagine listing to regular radio again. In NYC there are a few brief interumptions of service while driving butalmost none compared to commercials which also interupt service. — Get the portable ones that you can carry in your pocket or attach to your car. No need to be without it wherever you are. — ...

Hugh says "Spectacular on IMAX Screen" about Shine A Light

If you are a Rolling Stones fan the best way to see this movie in in the back of an IMAX theater with a 40 foot screen and 12,000 watts of digital sound. A small screen experience will not compare. That said, I found the editing a bit too fast and jumpy and the interviews too few and too...

Hugh says "Amazing ease of speed and handling" about Porsche 911 - 2008

Goes fast, fast, stops fast and turns fast. These are the basic ingredients for a sports car and the 2008 Turbo Cab provides them all with grace and style. The GPS is a bit clunky to use and the car should have a built in MP3 plug but it didn't There is an after market one that works fine. Other than that all you need is the thick steering wheel, the sportt adaptive seats and the chrono package. Sure you can dress it up with a lot of carbon, the hard top and ceramic breaks. Not much need for these on my part. If you plan to race get the coupe or a GT2 or 3. If you want a great fun superb handling ride the Turbo Cab is the one. By the way, don't snub the tiptronic. It is faster than the stick and way better in...

Hugh says "Waterproof to 10ft, small and easy to use" about Olympus Stylus 790SW Digital Camera

I have been taking underwater photos for more than 25 years and find this small, simple to use camera a great companion for sailing, windsurfing and snorkling trips and well as skiing and other outdoor activities where snap shots will do. The picture quality is fine and the features (movie, snow etc) are most of what snap shot photographers need. Cons:The zoom is only 3x and it has no view finder making it difficult to frame a picture in very bright light. Not very useful for scuba diving since it is limited to 10 ft underwater. Bottom line...always have it with you on vacation. I keep it in my brief...
