H1s-Bel0ved says "Silky smooth skin!" about The Glacial Facial Masque Lavender & Peppermint Mud Mask Alaska Glacial Mud Company

So I was in the market for a good facial mask, nothing I bought at Wal-Mart worked well it usually left me with that icky skin-too-tight-for-my-face feeling. I saw the Glacial Facial Mud Masque in my Ideal Bite feed and thought I would check it out. I bought the "Refreshing Lavender-Peppermint" and the $6 brush. It was a great use of $40!! The brush made applying the mask so easy and clean, it also gave a good even coverage. The mask itself has a somewhat strong scent at first (if you don't like lavender or peppermint then I recommend the unscented version) but I found it very relaxing while I was waiting for the mask to dry. It left my face feeling firm and soft, without the stretched feeling. I plan on using it 2-3 times a week, the website says that it should provide around 20 uses with the brush. If you're looking for a good detox & softening mask then I fully recommend the Glacial Facial!...

H1s-Bel0ved says "Straight from the dentist clean! (without the bleeding gums :-P)" about Sonicare FlexCare 900 Series Electric Toothbrush

2 years ago I asked my parents for a really good electric toothbrush because I have soft teeth and can't seem to keep them clean enough. They gave me an Oral-B Vitality and spent the rest on a digital camera. So my really-good toothbrush days had not come to fruition yet. Though the Vitality is better than a manual toothbrush, it's like comparing a Hershey's truffle with a Godiva truffle. It's good, but still lightyears from the Sonicare. So this year when my DH and I received our Christmas money, I decided to use my half on a Sonicare Flexcare. I worried that I would feel ripped off, I mean, $170 for a toothbrush? Do you know how much I could get at the VS semi-annual sale with that much money?!? But I figured I would rather keep my teeth whole and in my mouth for longer than have a few more cute pairs of undies ;-)

I have not regretted my purchase once! It has a setting to ease you into using it (reduced power that raises slowly each time you use it), and it has so many settings depending...
...

H1s-Bel0ved says "Wonderful colors for fall/winter, great value!" about Bare Escentuals Ruby Collection

Hi, I'm H1s-Bel0ved and I'm addicted to Bare Escentuals.

Seriously, I love their stuff. I didn't really start wearing much makeup until the last few months and therefore I don't have much more than the basics of foundation, mascara and one eye shadow quad. So when I was craving something different that was more suited for fall and winter the Ruby Collection caught my eye. For one thing, it comes with 2 brushes (technically 3 because one is double ended), make up brushes can be very expensive so to have a kit come with full size ones was a huge plus for me.

The brushes are wonderful, the cheek brush is very soft and perfect for blush, the eye brush is very handy since it's double-ended. The eye shadow side is firm enough to give you a good contour, I wish the eyeliner one was a little shorter but it does it's job quite admirably. The all over face color is perfect, just the right amount of shimmer and gives your face a lovely glow (especially if you use it as a blush). The 'golden ruby' eye...
...

H1s-Bel0ved says "Look like you actually got enough sleep!" about bareMinerals Eye Rev-er Upper

So I love BareMinerals, I'll just put that out there right now. I was a bit skeptical about their non-makeup products but after trying Prime Time as a primer, I figured that Eye Rev-er Upper would be at least worth a try, and it is! I have pretty dark circles under my eyes, I have fair skin and have been through a lot of stress in the last couple of years, combine that with not getting enough sleep and I tend to look like a raccoon (especially under those lovely fluorescent lights at work).

Though I wouldn't put this product under "skin treatment" as I don't know if it will make a long term difference, it definitely helps under my daily make up (or without). They put it as "light reflecting minerals" and when you put some on your finger you can see a tiny hint of sparkle almost. Once you put it on your skin it blends right in and definitely makes the under-eye area a lot brighter looking, without looking like you're caking up makeup to hide something. It's a pretty decent sized tube, and...
...

H1s-Bel0ved says "Midol is the only thing that calms my killer cramps." about Midol Midol Menstrual Complete: Maximum Strength

Though I haven't been 'definitively' diagnosed (to do so requires a small surgery), it's pretty likely that I have endometriosis. This means what is normally an uncomfortable time of the month becomes something that can leave me bedridden with pain and nausea. I'm on a prescription but even so, when 'that time' comes, I love my Midol. I have tried extra strenth Tylenol, Advil, heat pads, etc. etc. etc. but the only thing that even makes a dent in my pain is Midol. It's more expensive than 'normal' pain relievers but it allows me to make it through my day comfortably and even helps my bloating! If you have painful cramps, please, do yourself a favor and at least give Midol a try, you'll probably be thanking me.
...

H1s-Bel0ved says "Detox mask for face and body? Should that go together?" about Arbonne Seasource Detox Spa: Sea Mud Face & Body Mask

I think the fact that it was labeled for use on the face and the body should have tipped me off right there. Products for the body should not be used on the face, but I guess I completely forgot that little tidbit when I put this stuff on my face. First off, it was given to me as a gift so I felt I should at least give it a try. The Sea Mud Face & Body Mask smelled nice and I figured it couldn't hurt. I took my shower, washed my face and put the mask on my face... within about two minutes it started to burn. Now, I've had a facial and I know what a good, tingly feeling is like that means the skin is getting what it needs (even though it is uncomfortable)... this was more like "ouch". I figured I would wait at least the minimum recommended 10 minutes. It took some elbow grease to get off and now I can't touch my face without it burning. I had a healing blemish and now it's angry and red and sore. Maybe this stuff is great for the body, but it sure isn't something I'll put on my face again......

H1s-Bel0ved says "Smells great, doesn't weigh down fine-medium hair, so soft!!!" about Pureology Volume Shampoo 10.1 oz

Pureology is a great hair care line because all of their products are for color treated hair and it really helps the color shine through. Almost every shampoo I've tried has weighed down my hair, leaving it greasy and with very little movement, but not Pureology. I love shampooing my hair now, it smells so good and has a great lather (it's a very natural, non 'perfumy' smell, similar to Aveda scents), I only have to use about a nickel size dollop. Yeah, it is on the expensive side ($25 a bottle, ouch), but it works so well and you don't have to use much at all. I view my highlights/lowlights as an investment and Pureology hair care protects and extends that color to make it look it's best for as long as possible. Definitely check out the Pureology line for your hair, you'll love it....

H1s-Bel0ved says "It holds, smells great and leaves you with touchable hair!!" about Aveda Air Control

Aveda Air Control is probably the only hair spray I willingly use. I hate having "helmet head". My husband loves to touch my hair and I always want it to have movement and softness. This hairspray gives me all of that and smells almost like an Aveda perfume! My husband loves to bury his face in my hair even right after I finish styling it. It's great for a quick spritz with a light hold and you can layer is to get a tighter hold. I love this stuff!...

H1s-Bel0ved says "The ProActive system starts well, but watch out sensitive skin!" about Proactiv Solution Acne Treatment

My sister has worked in multiple beauty stores and doesn't believe in the ProActive system, but when a friend of mine stayed over and let me use it, I was hooked. When I started using the system I was about 10 weeks from my wedding, I needed to have clear skin. At first my skin was too sensitive but once I adjusted how often I used it everything balanced out. Now I only have an occasional pimple when I'm PMSing (I used to break out all over my face). I had beautifully clear skin for my wedding day. Sadly, five months after my wedding my pores are larger and my skin is ALWAYS dry. I will probably be looking for something that is much more of a multi-tasker than Proactive....

H1s-Bel0ved says "Redken Real Control Shampoo is too heavy for fine-medium hair." about Redken Real Control Shampoo

Redken "Real Control" was suggested to me by my stylist and I kind of wish I had stuck with my gut and gotten Pureology instead. I have fine-medium hair that has maybe a little wave to it, it's not too hard to control but gets weighed down and greasy easily if there's too much product. I'm sure this would be a great system for someone with dense, hard-to-control hair, but for someone who just needs something to keep her hair clean and soft, it's just too much....
