Gus81 says "Decent cooktop with decent features" about GE Profile Cooktop

I had this GE gas cooktop installed about a year or two ago. Great cooktop design and white surface goes great with the surface. The covers for the burners and cooktop rack are easily removable for cleaning. There's decent dials to control the cooktop burners indicating the igniting position and the different position for the strength of the burner. One of the biggest problems with the butrner dial is that you wait keeping it in the igniting position and that after the burner ignites in the igniting position, and you must turn the burner dial first from the position with the highest burner strength. To me, to wait for the cooktop burner to ignite after turning the dial to the igniting position is one thing, but to have to turn the dial after igniting the burner starting from the highest burner position does seem a bit dangerous as the burner flames extend the longest from there. All in all, a decent design and great cooktop.
...

Gus81 says "Excellent oven with decent features" about GE GE Profile 30 In. Freestanding Electric Double Oven Range

I got this GE electric double oven range installed a couple of years vago , and has very decent features. It has a variety of options. You can use broil, bake, special version of bake, etc., but with this special version of bake, you are limited to a certain temperature. So if you want higher temperatures, you have to be careful which mode you press. There's also a great oven light making the food easily viewable. There two kinds of timer where one timer is just a plain timer while the other timer turns off the oven. There's also an electrical plug-in thermometer, and although you can't use the thermometer for both ovens, you can plug-in the thermometer, and the food temperature is automatically displayed. The on-screen temperature display of the inner oven is displayed with the rising and falling of the temperature which makes it easier to determine when to put in the food. There's also extra racks included with the oven. It's got a great design and overall, it's a decent electric double...
...

When my new GE Spacemaker microwave got installed about a couple of years ago, it was nice with lots of decent features. It's got a great huge design with its white color. The inside of the microwave is very spacious for big dishes, and has an easily removable turntable for cleaning. There's nice options express cook time button for quicker settings of the microwave timer along with the usual pressing of numbers for the timer. You can also add 30 seconds with the touch of one button. There's also an independent kitchen timer just for reminding the time. There's also the other usual options for defrost, special mode buttons for timers on potatoes, vegetables, popcorn, beverages and reheating. The microwave also comes with an in-built fan hood and a light for kitchen counter and cooktops. You're able to set the light at high and low levels. The fan hood has options for changing the speed of the vent fan. All in all, it's a decent microwave.
...

Gus81 says "Cheap model, but decent enough TV set." about TruTech - Flat Screen Television

I got this flat screen Trutech TV model a couple of years ago from a Target store, and does have some decent features. The TV's own flat screen doesn't have any dents, scratches or any other defects when using it, and the flat screen has also very good picture quality. There's also a lot of decent options including being cable-ready. There's the usual features as you get in other TVs such as automatic channel scanning and setting of favorite channels. There's a lot of good features in the menus. The brightness, contrast and sharpness, color and tint settings work very well, and there's also options of changing the language of the menu. You can also set the v-chip option for parental responsibilities of children viewing. You can do the settings of the clock adequately without too many options. You can also view the name of your program right on the screen many times if available without needing the effort to search the local TV listings to find out about the program. All in all, a good TV....
...

I got the Netgear WPN824 Wireless router about a year ago because of making of use of the MIMO technology which gives off longer range wireless signal for your wireless adapter. My previous wireless router was a Netgear Wireles G router which had decent speed even though with a low signal, but the problem was that it needed to be restarted a good number of times because of stalling and freezing. The previous router couldn't even be checked through the router's software settings. The WPN824 Wireless router is a great router with great speed, and thankfully, no hassles of stalling or freezing with accessing the network. Although you got the option of encrypted wireless security, you can also filter MAC addresses by reserving particular MAC addresses for use only with the router which provides the best security for your router. The only problem like a lot of traditional wireless routers is that the signal is still very low at big ranges which is a disappointment since MIMO technology promises...
...

This DVD player will play the DVD+/-R and DVD+/-RW formats with ease. There's a great setup which allows you to tweak your settings. The best feature is the option to switch to progressive format video output. The downside is that you have to purchase a component video cable separately and need to have a component video cable compatible TV for the progressive video format, but once you have those, then watching your DVDs in progressive video format gives you crystal clear video quality. All in all, a great quality player for regular DVDs.
...

Gus81 says "Great HDTV with great flexible options." about JVC - AV-34WP84 Television

I got this JVC HDTV model a few years ago, and works quite well with its many options. It doesn't have a digital cable TV tuner as newer digital TVs, but it does allow for HDMI input and component video, which allows for crystal clear digital picture quality and easier use of widescreen picture for DVD players and HD receivers. Also offers quite a variety of digital enhancing effects. If there's a minor problem, it's that the picture quality coming from a traditional video sources like a VCR or regular cable seems quite degraded compared to connecting to an HD receiver and DVD player, but that's no problem with the digital TV transition. All in all, a fantastic product....

I bought a Dazzle Digital Video Creator 150 video editing device, and some of the software that came along with it. However, when Pinnacle Systems took over Dazzle, Pinnacle Systems allowed their Pinnacle Studio to be compatible with the older Dazzle products. So when I got Pinnacle Studio 9 software, it certainly helped me use my digital video editing device with a lot of ease and no serious crashes. Also, there's a lot of useful features for burning to DVD, using setttings on the video device, authoring video content to DVD, etc. All in all, a reliable program....

The Dazzle Digital Video Creator 150 is a great digital video device for hooking up your PC to your VCR or any regular TV or cable/satellite box device. It can be practically be used as a cheap, flexible way record TV programs using your PC as a DVR or just capture video you want to burn on DVD. It's also fully compatible with the latest versions of Pinnacle Studio software. The only minor quibble is if you have a poor video source like a bad VHS recording, then the audio can go out of sync with the video. Other than that, it's a decent device for video editing.
...

I bought the LG GSA-H10N DVD+/- Burner, and it's works quite well burning to the DVD+RW (8x), DVD-RW (6x), DVD-/+R (16x), DVD+R DL (10x) and DVD-R DL (6x) formats. It also reads and writes to DVD-RAM media at 12x, but I never use DVD-RAM. Its reads and writes CD at 48x speed. All in all, a decent burner.
...

If you're interested in just the basic PC needs and are not looking for the latest cutting-edge graphics, then this old ATI Radeon 32MB AGP 4x Card solves your problem. Like a lot of later ATI Radeon cards, this old ATI Radeon card allows you to install the latest ATI video drivers from ATI's own Catalyst software. Also, it's compatible with Windows Vista should you need to upgrade from previous version of Windows. All in all, it's a decent, old video card which meets your basic needs....

I've had the Linksys BEFCMU10 Cable Modem model for a couple of years now, and it's still works very well. It managed to support the latest speeds of my cable broadband internet service provider and also supports the latest standards like DOCSIS 2.0. If there's any minor problem with this modem which is probably common with a lot of cable modems, it's that the moderm does hang sometimes, and so you do have to restart it. Otherwise, it's a very good cable modem to get....

The NetGear WGR614v5 Wirless-G Router is a decent router. Like a lot of wireless routers that don't use MIMO technology though, the wireless signal gives off a strong signal to a wireless adapter without antennas within very short ranges. The router also seems to hang sometimes, but thankfully not too often, which is resolved by restarting it easily. Still, there's great security features like MAC Address filtering (great for blocking unauthorized wireless users), port forwarding and email notifications (useful for emailing you unauthorized activity by users on your local network.) Also, with a user-friendly network, it's a very good router which is worth getting....

Even long after I got this DVD drive, it still works quite well. I tried it inside a desktop PC and on an external USB 2.0 enclosure drive case, and it still burns CDs and DVDs with ease. There are also firmware upgrades available for this drive. The only minor problem is that it causes errors when burning DVDs at maximum speed.
Gus81 says "Some great features, but with bad DVD-burner and poor wireless-G" about Toshiba A75-S231

The Toshiba Satellite A75-S231 laptop has some great features, but it has its downsides. Like a lot of laptops with faster CPUs, the laptop's CPU overheats when the CPU is at full load, which causes automatic shutdown. The laptop's DVD Burner doesn't read all CD and DVD formats very well and freezes the laptop while recording. The integrated wireless-G, although avoids having to connect an external wireless connection, doesn't receive strong signals beyond very short distances. Still, it has a very fast Intel 3.33 Ghz Hyper-Threading Pentium 4 CPU, and a great, spacious capacity with a 100 GB hard disk. There's a great, bright widescreen LCD display with great video playback. Also, you have a variety of port options including USB2.0, Firewire, TV-out and VGA monitor-out....
