GuruStu says "Tweet Sweet" about Twitter

@GuruStu. At least this review let's me write more than 140 characters.

#Review: Has our attention span gotten so short? #guess so

Big Steam of consciousness. Breaking News. A riot.

Misinformation. Missed opportunity.

...Miss my blog.

Great to get the word out...

...if only one word @a-time.

Meet the movers and shakers...

...as long as you like to jump onto moving trains.

It's brilliant in its simplicity...

...even if some users are only one or the other.

is it worth it?

...I'm on it.

...So I guess it is.
...

GuruStu says "They're my only source for business cards" about VistaPrint.com

Vistaprint offers high quality cards at a very reasonable price. If you need cards QUICK, for simple advertising, go with their standard offerings. You'll get away dirt cheap. However, I highly recommend you upgrade to their higher stock and customized cards if you want to present a better image. Having their logo on the back is 'better than nothing' but not much better... so put in a little bit more dough and get more for what you pay for. They're higher quality is very good, and still reasonably priced, so don't worry about being ripped off.

I also bought their magnets and tshirts and always take advantage of their 'free' specials that come in their emails... because they've been worth it for me.

The only caution is to read each offer carefully as you go through, because they do throw a lot of upsales at you along the way.

Hint: if you want to increase the number of cards, say 'no' until the very end. Sometimes I've gotten better deals that way.

Second hint: It's up to you if you...
...

GuruStu says "Out there enough to get in your head" about adultswim.com

I love creative videos, the kind that makes you think or laugh or makes you scratch your head and just say 'huh?' The guys at AdultSwim do all that and more. Some of their stuff is just downright brilliant! (Love their StarWars parodies) while some of their other works make me want to say 'you did not just do that!!'

Since I go to the internet for most of my entertainment these days, I always make sure I make a pitstop over to AdultSwim to see what they've come up with next.

You may just want to put the kids to bed and the pets outside first though.
...

GuruStu says "TV? What TV?" about hulu.com

Cable prices got ridiculous and I just couldn't see myself paying hundreds of dollars for the one or two shows I enjoyed. I switched over to using an antenna and only kept my cable for my basic internet connection. Thanks to Hulu, I hardly even turn on the TV for the free on-air stuff. At most, the shows on hulu are a day old, but I hardly notice. I love being able to watch quality programs on MY schedule.

Hulu is also very easy to navigate through, or to search and I'm usually up and running within a matter of minutes. My only wish is that they had even more shows to watch.

Thanks, hulu!
...

GuruStu says "Gimme Sum of Dat Dim Sum" about Chin Chin - Beverly Hills, CA

On my very first visit, I got the Jade salad, despite my friend's insistance on getting the Chopped Chicken Salad. I thought it was 'alright' and was willing to come back for another try 'some other time'. That other time I finally had the Chicken Salad as part of their Dim Sum and Then Sum... and it's been over a decade of fandom ever since. Sometimes I just get that 'hankering' and have Chin Chin's on my speed-dial to pick up on the way home.

The last time I was at the Studio City restaurant I didn't see Dim Sum and then Sum on the menu, but the watier assured me that it was still available. I enjoy a lot of their other food, but I love my DS&TS.
...

GuruStu says "Was better the second time around" about Dell Inspiron 6400 Laptop

When I first got this laptop directly from Dell, it came with Vista. It crashed right out of the box and customer service was horrible they kept telling me to reformat and start over, even though I hadn't done anything). I returned it to Dell and was 'fortunate' to find a used one with Windows XP on their site. It's been a year and a half now and I have had very little problems since.

The screen size is very good for the graphic and video work I do and it's not so heavy as to make it a nuisance. I really appreciate having the firewire port and wifi built in.

Battery life diminishes quickly though and I've had to replace mine twice. That's been a real drawback, especially when trying to work while traveling. Always have your adapter handy!
...

GuruStu says "I haven't used my conventional oven since" about NuWave Oven

I first heard of the NuWave Oven on an infomercial, so I was a little skeptical. The show convinced me to give it a try. The oven convinced me to give up everything else. It is so easy to use and just does 'magic' with the food. I put in the meat AND the veggies and just let it do its thing. The meat is tender and the veggies brown just right. I love, love, love this thing and wish I got a commission on it, since I've recommended it to anyone who'd listen.

I've used it for years, and bought some as gifts. I believe in this product wholeheartedly.
...

GuruStu says "Sattva Light Body Serum revitalizes your skin and your spirit" about Sattva Body Care Sattva Light Body Serum

I've used moisturizers for years, but never got the results I did with Sattva Light Body Serum. It's made from tropical oils, but is not greasy at all. Its rose scent is pleasant and relaxing. Within weeks my skin was the softest it has ever been and my fine lines aren't as noticable. My friends who use it claim that their scars are reduced as well (I don't have scars so I can't attest to this)

It has a 'ritual' attached to it of being grateful for your day as you apply it. I enjoy those reminders and figure it can't hurt. Other people may or may not be into that sort of thing.

At first I though it was expensive (at $75/bottle) but one bottle has lasted me nearly two months and the results are so worth it.

It's not available everywhere... but it should be.
...
