http://www.viewpoints.com/aboutme/GrandmaGreen Wed, 18 Feb 2009 10:56:51 GMT Reviews by GrandmaGreen http://www.viewpoints.com/Born-Standing-Up-review-3de35 I have been a fan of Steve Martin forever, but after reading Born Standing UP, I understand him a lot more!  I loved the photographs as much as the writing!  The history that Steve Martin is a part of is well journaled in this entertaining book.  He has been the part of most of the comedy I have loved for the last 35 years!  I have followed him from the beginning of his career, and this book does his history justice.  To hear of his childhood problems and the distance between him and his parents at leaving home to pursue his dream, is a poignant tale that makes me love him even more.  This is a very personable, but funny and entertaining book.... Wed, 18 Feb 2009 10:56:51 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Born-Standing-Up-review-3de35 GrandmaGreen 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/30-Minute-Meals-2-review-3c7c0 Rachel Ray's book 30 Minute Meals 2, is a great book with a lot of great recipes for those of us sometimes in a hurry!  I prefer to make recipes that are first good, then easy.  I have found myself reaching for this book, though, when I am in a real hurry and have to find something quick.  Most of the ingredients for some of the stand by recipes I have on hand regularly.  That makes it much quicker when I don't have to shop for the ingredients, too.  I can grab the book, and look for quick and easy recipes.  My family has not disliked anything that I have found in the book yet! ... Wed, 18 Feb 2009 10:48:54 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/30-Minute-Meals-2-review-3c7c0 GrandmaGreen 4 http://www.viewpoints.com/Liberty-Mutual-review-f1a62 Liberty Mutual has always been a great value in auto insurance.  We insure 5 vehicle and have a teenage boy driving, so cost is a priority to us.  We don't want to spend more than we need on insurance.  A few years ago my daughter's car was totalled by an un-insured motorist.  Thank God she was OK, but we were afraid what would happen with our rates.  Libery Mutual took care of replacing her car and our rates never went up!  We were shocked!  We have checked around with other companies through the years, and no one comes close to their prices.  Their service, promptness and courtesy are second to none!  They carry our home insurance, also.  We had a terrible wind storm a few years ago, left our trampoline on our roof!  The paid for the damages the next day!  We couldn't be happier.... Mon, 19 Jan 2009 06:12:51 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Liberty-Mutual-review-f1a62 GrandmaGreen 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/Whirlpool-Kenmore-Calypso-Washer-review-7c047 I love the fact that the Whirlpool-Kenmore Calypso Washer can wash my clothes so much faster.  We have a small hobby farm and my husband and son can get pretty dirty outside.  I love gardening so I contribute also!  I can put all of our dirty jeans in one load a week!  It's big and tough enough to clean all the clothes so well, but it has enough settings to wash the new cashmere sweater my son got for Christmas with the delicacy that it needs.  I like the fact that I can wash the majority of my wash in cold water and it still comes out clean, but when I need a different setting for certain laundry types, there are so many to choose from.    I like the fact that it saves on water and is more energy efficient than my old washer.  It spins the clothes so dry, it saves time in the dryer, too.... The convection makes the items brown and toasted to perfection. With the very easy to follow instructions and recipe booklet, I am quickly learning that I can't do without this oven!  It is so much quicker than the standard oven, saves energy, too.  The entire kitchen doesn't get over heated when I use it.  I used to think the microwave "would do", but now I am sold on the way this product makes the food so much more appetizing!...
