GowerMeower says "Coffee, please." about Philips Senseo Espresso Machine

I do find this product to be handy and efficient. I bypass the pods and have an eco-pod so I can use my own coffee/espresso and that is not only more cost effective, but the coffee is even tastier too.

At first I thought the machine was slightly noisy but nowhere near as noisy as my espresso machine and it's for a few seconds so it's not an issue. Bottom line is the machine delivers excellent coffee, I'm not wasting an entire pot on just one coffee drinker in the house and I can still use my larger coffee maker for company. It's also great if you have a larger group of decaf drinkers and one or 2 regulars. NO need to brew 2 pots -- just use the Senseo for the 2 cups!

What's kept me from giving 5-stars is the output is not as hot as atraditional maker. That could be improved upon. It's also shaped a bit awkwardly. Other than that -- I love it and use it daily.
...

GowerMeower says "Good idea that has jumped the shark due to greed" about Classmates.com

I was one of the first to join classmates over a decade ago. I was busy planning my 20 year high school reunion and after almost 2 years of hard work, and being listed as the event contact, Classmates opted to remove me and place one of their advertisers in my place (Reunions of America, or such) and refused to change it. Then I was constantly being hit up to upgrade and spend more and more money for their site, which never offers anything extra. Yes, it was fun to reconnect about 10 years ago, but now it's easier to do that without this service, and yet they have not evolved. They are only interested in taking $ and not giving any substantial service in return. They should revisit their business plan as I am sure they are losing members and website visits. I would not subscribe for any of their so called "premium" services. Not worth it....

GowerMeower says "Alternative to landfill. Locals keeping it green with each other" about Freecycle

I am a member of 2 freecycle groups. I have found numerous items including just recently enough lovely tile to finish a shower and many books for my family to read and to share with others. I have also been able to pass on numerous items that I'd rather not see end up in landfalls, such as packing peanuts, and about 200 magazines. For the most part, people are friendly and honest, yet there will occasioanlly be someone who is nasty and rude. I just ignore those.... The concept is a wonderful alternative to throwing things away, or if you're not the yard sale type but want to shift some stuff out to make more room and do something nice for someone else at the same time, try finding a freecycle group in your area....

GowerMeower says "Labels for less. Excellent choices and prices. Fashionable!" about Steinmart - Fort Myers, FL

Steinmart is fabulous for good deals on current trendy clothes, good quality items and all at a very affordable cost. This particular Steinmart is quite large, which means it has lots and lots of items to browse, for women, men, home and jewelry/accessories, as well as other bits and bobs. There are always excellent sales racks from 30% to 75% off. It's difficult NOT to find something nice, including designer labels. The parking lot can be a nightmare, which is not actually Steinmart's fault, but it does turn me off from going there as often as I'd like. They also only have huge shopping carts which make it difficult to navigate through the narrow aisles crammed with merchandise. I generally tend to shop in smaller boutiques but always make it a point ot check in at Steinmart because you never know what you might find. They always send out good circulars and the dressing rooms are always clean and well maintained. The staff run from very nice to slightly obnoxious (usually the men for some......

GowerMeower says "low brow coverage of weekly entertainment/gossip. " about Entertainment Weekly Magazine

I ordered a subscription through expriring frequent flyer mileage. I am not a fan of this magazine because I find many of the comments snarky and obnoxious in the attempt to be humourous. I enjoy entertainment magazines as a way to unwind from the news or serious books, and thsi one doesn't so much as distract me as it does irritate me. The reviews are silly and most of the content vapid. I wouldn't actually pay for this magazine and I won't renew with extra miles because it doesn't get read anymore....recycled immediately....

GowerMeower says "A favorite for dry skin that actually smells awesome too" about The Body Shop Mango Body Butter

I've tried dozens upon dozens of products for my dry skin and the ones I find that work well on relieving the dry part, usually smell medicinal or try to cover up that medicinal smell with overpowering fragrance. I've used Body Shop products for over 20 years and always come back to them because they WORK. The mango body bhutter smells delicious as does their vitamin E line, which smells like roses, but again, not overpowering. They are not greasy, they absorb nicely and the fragrance lasts a long time. Yum!...
