GothicGenie says "Soothing Heat in a little wrap!" about ThermaCare Menstrual Heat Wraps

With PCOS you can have abdominal pains all the time but these help. I wrote to them to tell them how great these wraps are. I wear them when I lie down so I can just relax and soothe the pain. The best thing is to put one on, take some OTC meds, and relax in bed or even wear these out in public so that the pain doesnt become too overbearing.

They last a long time, and I buy them normally only if I have a coupon because there are three in a pack...and it's pricy for only three. However, it IS worth it so if I were desperate I'd spend the extra money for them. I try to get another brand sometimes but all they have is the medicated kinds. I don't like topical medication on me at all so this works perfectly for me. They advise NOT to wear any of the ThermaCare Heat Wraps more than 8 hours as they could burn you but they work really well for the PCOS pains. They may not eliminate the pain but that's 'cos PCOS is a pain in every sense of the word! And these are discreet! I...
...

GothicGenie says "Cheap and Effective!" about BIC Disposable Razors

The Bic Disposable Razors are GREAT! They're cheap (not the cheapest but the cheapest ones don't work), and they work. They don't have the fancy aloe strips and all that stuff. But they work!

These outrank the more expensive razors I've tried, disposable and the kinds where you replace the blades. In fact, I'd rather have this kind because I don't know how sanitary it would be to keep replacing a blade and not throwing out the handle. These get a nice close shave and they just really seem to work better, in my opinion, than a lot of the ones I've tried. I also like the Bic Disposable Razors in the Silky Touch kind. They have so many - there are the orange handles and the pink ones. I don't think you can really go wrong!

I would spend the little extra on these instead of those store or no-name brands for cheaper (although the HEB brands worked well but I went to another place and their brand was AWFUL! dull blade, didnt shave...) because in the long run you're not really...
...

GothicGenie says "Like a SPA at HOME!" about Queen Helene Mask

My favourite thing about these is most of them you can spot-treat pimples with overnight, and they come in a variety, from Mud packs, Mint Julep, and peel off masks, too!

These tighten pores, and seem to reduce wrinkles (IF ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME!!!) So use it before going somewhere nice, or just to relax. It makes your skin feel so soft and clean, your pores feel tight, and it makes your skin LOOK great, too! I love relaxing with the scents, especially the Grape Seed Extract mask which goes on clear, dries, and peels off. That's especially my favourite because it just requires a quick rinse after you peel it off so you're not scrubbing the mud pack off, only residual peel-off mask. Then again, the mint julep smells DELICIOUS! They also have an oatmeal face scrub. These are just so luxurious, and it feels like a special treat for yourself :)

I love sitting with a magazine while it dries (I get antsy and want to wash it off if I think about it). The best place to find these...
...

GothicGenie says "Softer, tangle-free hair!!! :)" about Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo

You can get this to go with the Suave Daily Clarifying conditioner! It's one of my favourites. With thick course hair it helps to calm and smooth it, and makes it easier to comb through. I like to let it set for a while and really condition it before rinsing it out. It also makes a good shave gel (my brother uses it on his face!) and for guys with beards, it helps too because it makes it soft, not scruffly. :) I find it helps when I have frizzy hair and it doesn't weigh my hair down like some conditioning products. They don't feel like they wash clean enough. I comb through my hair after I put a dab of conditioner on, and add more as needed so it won't build up too much. Then I relax with a magazine or something of that sort while it sets for anywhere from a few minutes or a lot longer, depending how I feel that day. I think one of the best things about Suave Daily Clarifying Conditioner is that it's cheap, it doesn't have a strong fragrance that can be bothersome to some...
...

GothicGenie says "GREAT for Smoothie Enthusiasts!" about Back to Basics Smoothie Blast

I make smoothies ALL the time. Fresh whole fruit is healthier than a smoothie, but still, as long as I'm getting some fruits and veggies in my diet, I'm happy! And what EASIER way is there to do that than...A SMOOTHIE MAKER!!! I would use our old blender and throw everything in under the sun! And they always turned out delicious (except for the apple & cranberry mixed with cinnamon and orange juice!!!) We saw this one not long ago and knowing the other blender might be going out soon, we got this one! I've been wanting a smoothie maker! It works as a normal blender but crushes ice and has a spicket to pour the delicious smoothie from! The only problem is you have to make sure that the bottom is on right, and the spicket is CLOSED! Or there'll be a MESS! So here's what you do...get two glasses (I love cheap little fancy ones!), orange juice (I prefer this kind cos it's thicker and has a better consistency), and a little yogurt if you like. Put a few ice cubes (8 is...
...

GothicGenie says "This melts my tension away (even though I suffer from TMJ!!!)" about Excederin Tension Headache

I have TMJ and it wreaks havoc in my jaw, all around to my neck! It's the WORST! You sleep wrong or something and suddenly you get a TMJ attack! Or if something stresses you out, you eat something that bothers your jaw, it's awful! And migraines are linked with TMJ. Anyone who suffers knows what I mean...Anyway, I tried the Excederin Tension because I didn't want the aspirin in the regular. The whole back of my neck and my head where the pain spreads up to just MELTS AWAY! I tell EVERYONE about this because if you have headaches, especially from tension, this stuff works GREAT! For some reason it just helps to relax all those muscles where it tightens up and I'm able to just finally sit and relax instead of focusing on my pain. Pain is the WORST thing EVER, especially when it's ongoing. But thankfully there are products like Excederin Tension when you really really need it! I do try not to take it too often because I know that taking medicine too much can hurt, BUT...when...
...

GothicGenie says "No More Itchy Scalp!" about Head & Shoulders Sensitive Care Dandruff Shampoo

I have always suffered with dandruff, and at the age of 12 I didn't know I even had it! It turned B-A-D! It was only when I read the horrors of untreated dandruff that I realised what it was I was dealing with and also found out that a condition I have known as PCOS can cause scalp problems, including dandruff! The back of my neck sometimes gets so itchy and painful! My scalp hurts when I comb my hair! My hair gets oily! But this really helps to control all of that! Who knew that a shampoo could've helped my ailments that much! I just use it when I feel the itch or pain coming on so I can control it. This usually stops the pain before it starts. Most times I actually try to use it BEFORE it even starts, so maybe every other day or so I use it in between other shampoos. It makes my hair easier to comb (almost seems like a detangler!) and if I lather it up with lots of soap and scrub it clean it just feels so light and clean! I love this shampoo! This and Suave...
...

GothicGenie says "My hair looks and feels clean! And it's CHEAP! :)" about Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo

I just love the Suave Daily Clarifying! It's my favourite aside from Head & Shoulders! Other shampoos seem to leave build-up, so I like to make sure I have this shampoo on hand for that reason. My hair feels way cleaner after using it and I like that it's clear. Maybe I'm nuts but it seems to me the purple and blue shampoos leave a residue on my hair. This stuff washes clean, and my hair doesn't feel stripped. I have course hair and this seems to make it feel nice and soft, too! I love the smell, which there isn't much of a fragrance but those can be bothersome to me at times, so I love the clean smell because it isn't overwhelming. I usually use this either alternating with Head & Shoulders or other Suave, V05 or White Rain scents so that my hair will wash clean. It seems to even make it easier to come because my hair is so course and thick. It feels gentle, too. My favourite thing about it is it feels like when you go to get your hair cut and they use that shampoo...
...

GothicGenie says "My skin looks clearer and my pores are tight!!!" about AcneFree 24/7 Severe Acne Wash

The Acne Free 24/7 Severe Acne Wash is GREAT! I had tried the whole skin-care system before. It was a dollar for the three-step trial kit. The problem I had with that is I don't wanna spend that much on a product I may end up forgetting about. The three steps aren't that hard, but sometimes you don't feel like going through it all. It did make my skin look great, though. So when I saw this one, and had a dollar off coupon, I HAD to try it! It's cheaper, one step, and WORKS JUST AS WONDERFULLY AS THE ACNE FREE KIT! I was extremely happy with this because of the price. I can afford this and not have to worry about not being able to come up with the money for it and my skin suffering (noticeably I might add)!!! I do still have break outs but my pores look tight and my skin looks clearer even with those little breakouts! I can't eliminate my acne 'cos it's from PCOS but this DOES help! If I were to get one product and stick with it, THIS would be the one! I love the price,...
...
